  • computer HP laptop says bootmgr

Can Hello someone please help me? My laptop says bootmgr is missing. I tried to put in the recovery of windows vista and windows 7 disc and the laptop does not have anythang. I don't know what to do now, f8 cause does not have anythang or any other key. I don't know much about fixing laptops so any help is useful thank you

    Hello

    Corrects BOOTMGR errors

    1. Restart the PC. The BOOTMGR error could be a fluke.
    2. Check your optical drives, USB portsand floppy disk for media players. Often, the "BOOTMGR is Missing" error if your PC is trying to boot from a non bootable drive, external drive or on diskette.

Note: If you find that this is the cause of your problem and it occurs regularly, you might want to consider to change the order of boot in the BIOS if the hard drive is listed as the first boot device.

    3. Check in the BIOS boot sequence and make sure that drive hard fix or other boot device is classified first, assuming you have more than one drive. If the bad drive is listed first, you could see errors BOOTMGR.

I know I've hit kind of on that in the above troubleshooting step, but I wanted to specifically call that you might have the bad hard drive listed, as a lot of BIOS/UEFI systems allow you to specify specific a particular hard drive be started from first.

    4. Reinstall all internal data and power cables. BOOTMGR error messages may be caused by the power cables or defective, loose or disconnected controller.

Try to replace the PATA or SATA cable if you think it is may be defective.

    5. Perform a repair of Windows startup. This type of facility is to replace all the files missing or corrupt, including Bootmgr.

Even if a reboot is a common solution to problems BOOTMGR, don't worry if it doesn't solve your problem. Just continue troubleshooting - something will work.

    6. Write a new boot sector of partition on the Windows system partition to correct any possible corruption problem configuration or other damage.

The partition boot sector is an important element in the trunk so well treat if there is any problem with him, you will see problems such as error "BOOTMGR is Missing".

    7. Rebuild the BCD (BCD) data. As in the boot sector of partition, a corrupted or misconfigured BCD cause BOOTMGR error messages.

Important: The following troubleshooting steps are much less likely to help solve your problem BOOTMGR. If you skipped all the above ideas then you may have overlooked a very probable solution to this problem

    !
  • Check the hard drive and other drive in the BIOS settings, then make sure they are correct. The configuration of the BIOS tells the computer how to use a reader so incorrect settings can cause problems, including errors BOOTMGR.

Note: There is usually a setting Auto in the BIOS hard drive and an optical drive, which is usually a safe bet if you don't know what to do.

  • Update the BIOS of your motherboard. An outdated version of the BIOS can sometimes cause the error "BOOTMGR is Missing".
  • Perform a new installation of Windows. This type of installation will completely remove Windows from your PC and reinstall from scratch. While this will certainly solve BOOTMGR error, it is a tedious process due to the fact that all data must be saved and restored later.

If you can't access your files to save, please understand that you loose them all if you continue with a clean install of Windows!

  • Replace the hard drive , then install a fresh copy of Windows. If everything else failed, including the facility clean at the last step, you are most likely a hardware problem with your hard drive.
  • BOOTMGR errors apply to the

BOOTMGR issues applies to systems of operating Windows 8, Windows 7and Windows Vista only.

Windows XP don't use BOOTMGR. The equivalent function in Windows XP is NTLDR , which produces the error NTLDR is Missing when there is a similar problem.

  • I have Windows Vista - I'm a msge saying that the recovery disc (D) is almost full. How can I transer to OS (C) Disk that has plenty of room to the left?

I have Windows Vista.  I'm a msge saying that the recovery disc (D) is almost full.

How can I transfer to OS (C) Disk that has plenty of room?    Thank you.

    Hello

I'm sorry, but you cannot move the D: Partition recovery or its contents; It will not work if you do.

Your recovery Partition was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.

    1. If you want to reinstall Windows from in the case of a failure of the system, based on individuals or the keys at startup.

F10 or Alt + F10 or F11 are a couple of different manufacturers use sequences.

You will need to ask your manufacturer for proper sequence.

    2. to make the recovery disks on if your drive hard breaks down, so that you can then reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive.

Also ask them how to make records.

Your D: Recovery Drive is should not be used for backups, defragmented, etc..

There are backups on an external hard drive.

To resolve the problems that have arisen with the recovery D: Partition, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to remove all that has been added to it.

    See you soon.

  • Internet not working not but the laptop says it's connected to the modem and "Internet access".

My laptop says it's connected to our modem and having 'Internet access'. However, I can't use the Internet on any of my browsers. I tried to turn my Wi - Fi, and who have done nothing. I also tried to restart my laptop and modem, but who didn't do anything either. I checked the Device Manager to see if the NETWORK card worked properly. It said it was working fine. Unless it's lying to me. I plugged in an Ethernet cable to my laptop, but I still couldn't get on the Internet. I ran my computer in safe mode with networking with an ethernet cable but still could not access the Internet. I don't know what the problem is.

I used troubleshooting and that's what he came back to me:
"The connection between your access point, router or cable modem and the Internet is broken."
I did what he told me to and restarted my modem... once again. It did not work.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

I have the same problem.  My internet connection seems fine.  I can connect to the internet on my laptop to the company, xbox 360, roku and my cell phone, but not my laptop from Sony.  When I check the connection it says its fine but when I run a diagnostic it says "the DNS server is not responding."  I checked with my cable company and that they 'refreshed' my signal, but it would not connect.  Even than your wi - fi network or directly with an ethernet cable.

If someone could help us both appreciate it.

    Thank you

  • Laptop HP tx1250ea "Low disk space" Error Message drive D (HP Recovery) is apparently complete

I went to the D drive, but the only folder that seem to be there is HP recovery. In addition to the recovery folder, I expect to see other Windows files that might be deleted safely. I went to the reader via the above as recommended free Commander in this forum. Not really computer savvy so would be very grateful for the help

The recovery partition is designed to be comprehensive, because it remains the same.

You can simply delete the D: partition drive letter and the message will disappear. This will not affect the ability to use the partition recovery by F11 recovery option. It will just be illiterate in Windows.

I can't use my laptop unless it is plugged into mains, when I checked the status of the battery it does say 'no battery detected', but I know that there is a battery inside my laptop. I can do about it, my computer laptop is not very old.

    Hello

Check with support from the manufacturer of their books online and the drivers and their forums system
(as applicable) for known issues. Some manufacturer issued BIOS and other updates to help the battery
    problems.

Control Panel control - plan change Options - power plans - power - advanced settings
Parameters for the drainage and the use of parameters (this is how much to use and not how much or how)
    long to load).

In fact, what causes a lot of wear on a battery empties it too low on several occasions. With today
systems overload are not a problem.

Here are some tips to help and troubleshoot battery issues.

Old battery? Unplug the power to the computer - remove the battery and clean the contacts with a pencil
eraser (do not use this, if your battery is fine slots - just clean up the edges of the knife which fit in)
them and be careful). Batteries are old, or it could be a problem with the computer.
Check with the support of the machine system, and many of them have on line forums.

New Lithium-Ion type battery usually last longer if you do not unload then less than 30%
However on a laptop that not extend their life a lot. Best is to use the a/c adapter
    When this is possible.

I use the free version of BatteryBar to monitor my battery. Click on the green button on the
Yellow box on the right side of the page to download the latest stable version.

proprietary software to monitor the battery and they could be known problems with your battery.

  • Cannot complete the reinstallation of Vista on Compaq laptop using the Compaq recovery disks. Tried to restore disk oem and new close to identical road. Errors: 0xc00000e9 and 0xc0000189 respectively

With no unusual occurrence that accompanies it, our laptop was able to start and would not initialize anything beyond a screen B & W style BACK and gave the first error (0xc0000e9) on this screen. After several unsuccessful reboots insert us the Compaq recovery disks and crossed the recovery (only full optional with such discs.) At the end of the transfer of recovery (from DVD on computer), the computer tried to restart and reported the same error message. We have seen anything past the transfer of files and B & W on the oem disk. I think the oem HD is bad. Web-surfing suggested the error was associated with a hardware failure and the DVD drive seems to work very well I bought a new HD almost identical to replace the oem version with. Both are Seagate Momentus 160 GB at 5400 RPM drives.

I re-inserted the recovery with the new installed hard drive disks and it loaded and seemed basically completely install Windows (computer is restored running several times and showed the Windows desktop with sequential programs etc. facilities.)

To restart the final success, I received an error message in the sense of "windows could not install: Please restart the installation process" and the 0xc000189 error code. I tried again and the result was identical, including the error message. In the process the emblazoned shortcut labeled sunflower administrator with "locked" below briefly appears before the above error appears above him. Navigation on the Web seems to suggest I've hit some kind of security problem that appears when an oem auto-installer is used. He was never a password of any kind on the laptop of our family, if there is one, it should be of Compaq.

It's an authentic (not stolen etc) oem new install of Windows (the laptop is only 18 months old) and I CD code on the computer but not the case in the installation me I asked for it. I don't know what you looking for installation.

I'm very confused and any help would be appreciated. Compaq is saying it's a matter of Windows of course.

    Thank you

  • How can I get Firefox to work when my laptop says I have access to the Internet, but don't be loading not my pages?

I'm not very keen with the terminology of my computer, but I'll try to explain my situation better than I can.

I think that the problem began with a recent trip where I went out of State and took my laptop, I had problems connecting to wifi it. I was originally a bridge between Ethernet and wifi connection I think (something I said should not be the problem) and I had to take off for my wifi to work and once I did that my wifi worked well there. Once I came home however, my computer connects to my wifi at home and say I have 'internet access' but does not load anything on Firefox or Internet Explorer. I have already tried to rebuild the bridge, restart my laptop and analyses of virus. I know that my Internet works so if someone could help understand me what needs to change in my settings, or whatever it is I would be very happy.

    Hi Marcos140,

I'd like to help, but is very difficult to diagnose with so little information...

Do you know why you need the bridge in the first place?

Your laptop connects via a wired or wireless?

    Please try this:

    1. Click Start
    2. Type cmd
    3. Press on enter
    4. Opens a black box
    5. type ' ipconfig/all '.
    6. Screenshot of the output
    7. Type "ping google.com".
    8. Screenshot

If you can post the output of these commands, that it will help you.

  • My volume on my laptop is extremely low!

My Entertainment PC HP Pavilion dv6-6c10us volume is so low I hardly hear it! Listening to music and watching videos or movies are extremely frustrating because I can barely hear the sound. I did a test of its scope. All sounds are at maximumsettings. Is there some type of fault with the sounds on this laptop? When I bought it about 6 months ago, I expected to be unable to barely hear speakers. I need help, this very, very frustrating!

    Hello

One thing that can help is the following.  Do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "playback devices".  Left click the device once to highlight default (it is usually 'speakers and headphones') and then click the properties button.  Click the enhancements tab and put a check mark in the box "Loudness equalization.  Click on apply to save the changes and then click OK in all other windows and see if allowed at all.
