Laptop screen disabled when connecting to a projector

Original title:

Hello, I am trying to connect to a projector Acer H5360 to my computer dv9750 Pavilion laptop under Vista Home Premium using an HDMI cable.

Whenever I connect the projector, or noting happens and typing FN + F4 I can have my proposed office or automatically after a certain time, my office is planned (without typing anything). In both cases, the office disappears from the screen of my laptop (!)
The only way to have my laptop active screen is again by disconnecting the HDMI cable AND it's not completely deterministic: it happens that the laptop screen remains inactive after extraction of the HDMI connector and until the power is cycled
My question is how can I configure the system to always reflect the tower to the projector screen, whenever the projector is attached, while leaving the tower still active screen? before, during and after the setting of the projector.
I would add only that I did not imagine it's be so complicated to just fix a projector. For example, when I move the same projector with the same cable to my xoom Tablet I just see projected! without doing anything more than the * physical connection *.

How many times do you have to press the key combination?

FN + F4 key combination is to switch between monitors. Try pressing the fn + f4 several times until you get show both monitors ON.

When the monitor of the laptop is turned OFF and the projector is on, press the key combination, the projector must be OFF and the monitor of the laptop must be turned on. By pressing the key combination twice turns the laptop screen and the projector. There should be no instance that both will turn OFF.

If it does not try to activate your dual display:
Right click on the desktop-> Output To-> Intel Dual Display Clone-> notebook + monitor. It can vary in defense on your installation, I use a laptop HP and Acer LCD as a second monitor.

    Hello

If your laptop has a switchable graphics then it will try to spend the record GPU power in high performance GPU when the adapter is connected. You can stop that by choosing one or the other card being the default value and remove the check mark in the box that indicates the operating system automatically switch on the battery.

    Your laptop has switchable graphics?

If your answer is Yes, then try the following.

Download the latest version of the AMD graphics driver software for your laptop. Uninstall the AMD graphics driver and restart the PC. Install the AMD graphics driver software. It will also install the Intel HD graphics driver. You should now be able to right-click on a place empty on the desktop and select configure switchable graphics and choose the default graphics solution that fits your needs.

  • Pavilion dv6700: white screen permanently after connecting to the projector (stuck in "projector only" mode)

    Hello community,

    Here is what happened:

I have connected my laptop to a TV via HDMI and set the display option to show the "projector only" in the Panel.

The fn functions do not work and have never been, probably because I, at some point, off the never installed or quick launch buttons driver after the transition from Vista to Win7.

With the TV still plugged, I closed the laptop.

Now, when my device is restarted, the screen remains black.

Connect to the same or other TV sets via HDMI won't show 'no signal' on the TV.

Connection to an external display or projector via VGA will show either no signal.

So I presume this must be the source parameter, which would need to be changed back, but I have no idea how to do that blindly. Anyone got any ideas how I could solve this problem?

I thank very you much in advance!

Fixed drawing of one of the two RAM Modules. Just like that.

Hope this can help others to solve the problem.

    What has not helped:

    • Permutation of these two RAM modules and then start.
    • Reset the BIOS by pressing the keys Windows + B while pressing the power button.
    • From the BIOS menu by (several times) by pressing f8 or f10
    • Pressing on the power while pressing fn + f4 button
    • Let start normally and then by pressing Windows key + P
    • Choose different start-up options blindly with the arrow keys and enter

  • Keyboard freaks out when connected to a projector

When I connect my Lenovo T400 with Windows 7 to a projector, I am able to easily share my screen.  But my keyboard does not work.  When I press the keys on my keyboard behaves as shortcut keys.  Screens to start popping up, the menu start appearing... each key triggers the other thing that type.  Help!

    Hello

I'm assuming that you press the Fn key and the shortcut keys are get activated when you press other keys on the keyboard.

You can try disabing shortcut keys and check if that helps. You can consult the manual that came with your laptop or get in touch with the laptop

    Diagnosis

The video "Refresh" is switching between 60 (on food) and 50 Hz (on battery), and the screen goes momentarily empty.

    Solution

So what about current alternative, office > right click > properties > settings > advanced > monitor. Here, under the display settings, set the refresh rate of the screen at 50 Hertz. After you apply these settings, the flashing problem gets fixed.

    2. Click to select the checkbox extend my desktop on this monitor . After enabling this feature, you can drag items across your screen on alternative screens. Or, you can resize a window to stretch it on several monitors.

  • Alterations of the screen when the monitor or projector is connected to the Tecra M5

    Hello

I do experience screen corruption when (and only when) I use my Tecra M5 connected to an external monitor or a LCD projector, through a VGA cable and via a cable DVI (and docking station). It seems fine when I use the internal LCD screen.

He got a Nvidia Quadro NVS 110 M video card with, apparently, the most recent drivers. Alterations can be captured with a copy of Θcran, but I can't post the JPG here! They are usually green or magenta and look like rectangles, longer than high, about 2cm long and full of dashed horizontal lines.

Sorry for the vague description - but he doesn't that sound familiar to anyone?
    Thank you

    Hello

I can't say exactly what it could be, but I n t think that there is something wrong with the graphics card.
I think that if the graphics card would be corrupted, therefore the fault or whatever is displayed on the internal display, but it doesn t.

Have you changed the screen resolution? Or have you changed the color quality?

When I plug my TV in my HDMI output on my laptop, task bar of the window (with the start menu and open programs) always defaults to the TV screen instead of stay on the laptop screen.  Someone knows how can I change the default location for the task bar so that it stays on the screen of the laptop?  Thank you!!

    Hello

The HDMI TV is defined as the main display on your computer monitor. To change the same to your laptop.
    Here's how:
    a. right-click on an empty space on the desktop and click on the screen resolution.
    b. at the top, you will see the current main screen with the Start Menu in the lower left.
NOTE: If you are unsure which monitor who is, then click on the button to display the number on the screen to match with identity.
    c. at the top, click on the numbered display device (ex: monitor, projector or TV HDMI) you want to make your primary display to have its established border highlight.
    d. check the brand that my hand display and click OK to apply.
NOTE: You will notice that when you check this box, the Menu start now we in this numbered display.

    I hope this helps.
