My laptop screen fades dying, a second screen plugged... but it displays as a part continues to right-hand side of the screen

My laptop screen fades dying, connected a second monitor. I need to do (in display) do the pluged in the number one monitor.  Because it shows now it acts as an extension (on the right side of my screen.  My mouse pointer can migrate from one screen to the other and my start maing buttons that I don't see on my laptop screen.  What I really want is for the two monitors to show an identical copy of one.  Or at least put the plug in the monitor by default #1 and lapbopscreen #2 I hope that this will make sense I help eed before the screen of my laptop completely died please...

Hi VictorReventlow,

Try the following steps to extend the monitor on the second screen.

  1. In the settings of the display properties dialog box tab, click the icon of the monitor that represents the monitor you want to use in addition to your primary monitor.
  2. Click to select the checkbox extend my desktop on this monitor . After enabling this feature, you can drag items across your screen on alternative screens. Or, you can resize a window to stretch it on several monitors.

  • the presentation of the screen on my monitor is slightly off center with a thin black line on the left hand side. Ho can I fix this. I am running Windows 7 with a monitor Samsung SyncMaster SA10

The presentation of the screen on my new monitor is slightly biased with a thin black line on the right hand side which makes it awkward hitting the back button on the upper left side of the screen. How can I adjust this?  I am running Windows 7 on a new Compaq PC with AMD Vision and monitor Samsung SyncMaster SA10.

    Any suggestions to adjust welcome.

    Thank you.

The monitor must have menu on the side or the bottom buttons - in the find menu where you can adjust the horizontal position of the image.

Increasing or decreasing the horizontal value will move the image left or right. When it is centered properly, you can exit the monitors.

  • Satellite L510 - computer laptop screen freeze on Win7

    Hello

I have a Satellite L510 computer laptop that I use at home, especially for browsing the net through LAN wireless.
I bought it last February lately, he showed problems with its display. When I boot on Win7 (that is, moreover, the only OS installed), after about 5-7 minutes of operation, the brightness of the screen increases significantly and the screen just hangs.

Then, within 20-30 seconds, it restarts on its own and everything comes back to the normal operating status. The behavior has been intermittent and random so far. I can't find a reason why this is happening. Pls help!

    Kind regards

  • Cracked Laptop Screen - what can I do now?

    Hi all

I have a laptop Toshiba A100-049, I bought in a shop of the comet. Today, I left my laptop on my bed, when I was about to leave the room to go to the bathroom, my cat jumped on my bed and the laptop fell and cracked the screen (I wish the floor carpet rather than laminate wood now).

The laptop is still under warranty and I need information on what to do now. Should I consider return to the Comet store? I'm really worried because it cost me A £750 which is a lot of money. I hope you can help,

    Thank you, Jamie West.

HM, I'm sorry about your accident and I know very well how is your situation. It s as standing there with handcuffs hands and not be able to do something, and then to pay...

I want to say that the best solution IS to buy a second hand screen and give your machine with the part to a techno for an Exchange.

It's probably your boyfriend only choice.

    Welcome them

P.S.: Check ebay for a used screen. There are often parts of work machines e.g. problems of motherboard or something else.

  • laptop screen does not open at startup

I have a hp pavilion g6. When I press the power button I hear cooler work, in the keyboard lights are normal, the hard disk is turned on but the screen is black, not clear at all. I got it to a technician and he told me that there is a problem with motherboard and bios (personally I don't think he had any idea what the problem was). He told me to send it to hp but I need as soon as possible. I tried to press the power button for 30 sec with no cable and the battery but nothing. There is also no sound from windows startup. I tried to connect with another screen, but also nothing. Please I need help fast.

Well, to me this looks like your motherboard as well.

Here is why I say that you are not able to access the bios menu, I hope you have tried several times to enter this menu. You also tried hook laptop up to a second monitor, normally if it just a screen and then issue you would still get an image on the screen.

Also if it was a problem with the graphics yet would you be able to access the bios menu, only the bios menu uses only the basic drivers needed.

This computer you will need to fix it so that the issue to be decided. If you are still currently covered by warranty I would recommend contacting HP support service. Their number is 800-474-6836.

Please answer as soon as possible.

    Thank you

  • HP 15-d040nr: my laptop screen touch hp does not illuminate

My laptop touch screen computer hp laptop (not sure of the name of the template) does not illuminate. My computer has problems finding networks so I restarted it by using the restart function, and when it will ever stop finished back. When I press the power button / of on the internet key light turns orange and the port on the adapter lights up as usual as well, but the screen remains black. This laptop is only a little over a year, I don't know how to fix it. I tried to unplug the adapter and taking the battery, now the power for 30-60 seconds and everything put back and that does not work, I have read a lot of forums and tried everything but nothing seems to work. If anyone has an idea of what I can do, that would be really appreciated, I don't want to consider to get a diagnosis and spend tons of money. Thank you!

I ended up taking my laptop to a tech repair shop and found out that the problem was the motherboard - I had to pay for a new part and pay for this service, luckily the place is a fair price and only cost me the price of a new laptop. It sucks that I have had the computer for less than two years and I have to do an important replacement, but at least I know never buy another laptop HP again! Good luck!

    Hello mcbethtings:

Your question is not in the list. http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?tmp_rule=56801&tmp_task=solveCategory&CC=UK&DLC=en&lang=en&LC=en&product=4100044 So, in this case I sujest a restore back to remove what are the mistakes caused by a bad AVG update. GoTo all programs search and type in Recovery Manager click that above and open it. Click Yes (white box) so it apears. Select Microsoft System Restore Click next to three windows now you will see a list of dates, select a date prior to the installation of the update, then click. Let the computer do its restoration. Once done see if your problem is solved, if so try the update again, make you that the update is for 64-bit Windows 7 computers before you download it again. If that happens again once you know what AVG is not compatible for your computer.

Probably you have only received part of the witch update caused this problem due to the disruption of atmospheres. Sometimes this happens. Put day of my HP only made once. I just did a restore back and downloaded the update again and the second time through work. Please click on Bravo if this solves your problem. Thank you frrw.

  • Trolling, laptop screen drivers acting weird, Windows start very slowly

The screen of my laptop had finally died recently, so I took it into the store of the computer down hence my apartment is. Real easy, just put in a new screen. I have my laptop back and the screen is fine now, but since I found, he acted very strange. Any time I did scroll upwards or downwards, or move a window, that it is delayed and there is this weird wave effect. That I can't plug my laptop go back to my TV via HDMI, and now I can't play Lord of the Rings Online. I tried to install a video driver via Steam for the GeForce Go 7400, and now it takes about 10 minutes for my computer starts after scoring in windows. I'm not really sure to know how to find the specs and everything, but if someone could help me I would be very happy.

    Hello.

Check the site of laptop manufacturers with regard to the specifications of the machine you.  Look at what graphic chipset provider is. He must check if it is nvidia.  Go to their site and download the latest drivers.  They have a program online to find the best driver for your system.  Download it, and if all goes well, this should you solve graphical errors and restore your HDMI.  NVidia will direct you ensures the latest driver package and complete for your machine.

  • Laptop screen disabled when connecting to a projector

    Original title:

Hello, I am trying to connect to a projector Acer H5360 to my computer dv9750 Pavilion laptop under Vista Home Premium using an HDMI cable.

Whenever I connect the projector, or noting happens and typing FN + F4 I can have my proposed office or automatically after a certain time, my office is planned (without typing anything). In both cases, the office disappears from the screen of my laptop (!)
The only way to have my laptop active screen is again by disconnecting the HDMI cable AND it's not completely deterministic: it happens that the laptop screen remains inactive after extraction of the HDMI connector and until the power is cycled
My question is how can I configure the system to always reflect the tower to the projector screen, whenever the projector is attached, while leaving the tower still active screen? before, during and after the setting of the projector.
I would add only that I did not imagine it's be so complicated to just fix a projector. For example, when I move the same projector with the same cable to my xoom Tablet I just see projected! without doing anything more than the * physical connection *.

How many times do you have to press the key combination?

FN + F4 key combination is to switch between monitors. Try pressing the fn + f4 several times until you get show both monitors ON.

When the monitor of the laptop is turned OFF and the projector is on, press the key combination, the projector must be OFF and the monitor of the laptop must be turned on. By pressing the key combination twice turns the laptop screen and the projector. There should be no instance that both will turn OFF.

If it does not try to activate your dual display:
Right click on the desktop-> Output To-> Intel Dual Display Clone-> notebook + monitor. It can vary in defense on your installation, I use a laptop HP and Acer LCD as a second monitor.

  • INCH BLACK LINES DOWN THE SIDES OF THE SCREEN OF MY LAPTOP SINCE THE INSTALLATION OF WINDOWS 7 NEED HELP... PLEASE

Ive just installed windows 7 on my copy of vista 64-bit. the thing is tho now my office is not whole screen on my hp laptop. It was fine with vista, but I am new to windows 7 and do not know what to change. Ive got two black line on both sides of my screen about an inch in size. HELP PLEASE

Right click anywhere on the blank desktop (not on an icon), and then select the screen resolution.

Under the box with the image of the screen the middle button label resolution with a value in the button X y. click on the arrow and is the slider at the top? The highest option "recommended" on this subject.

If the second answer is, the graphics card no doubt is not installed properly and needs a update driver because he did not interview the screen to get his abilities properly.

If this is the recommended option resolution corresponds to what you believe the display is capable of. Slide this setting and select apply and see if the black bars and the image fills the screen.

An LCD has a fixed number of pixels wide and high, and has a specific ratio. The standard reports are 4:3, 16:9 or 16:10. With black bars or the other side, it is very likely, the screen is a ratio of 16:9, but the graphical output is 4:3. Some stretch to fit other screens the black bands.

Any setting other than the good for the screen will produce a soft image with a loss of sharpness.

  • My laptop (Dell Inspiron only 3 months old) is displayed on an external monitor, but not on the laptop screen. I am running Windows 7.

My laptop (Dell Inspiron only 3 months old) is displayed on an external monitor, but not on the laptop screen. I am running Windows 7. It was running and display very well last night. When I turned on this morning the monitor lit up but show just a gray-white screen and no office. When I attached an external monitor, I could see desktop and all other programs and Windows 7 routines seem to work very well.

Press the Windows logo key and the p key, and then set up the PC to display on the built-in monitor only cycle through with the arrow key.  You can make this Store if you want - key Windows-p, right arrow once, paused for a few seconds & the laptop monitor should then appear normally.

You can do so at the end of each session using the external display while you are ready for the use of the laptop on its own later.
