  • How to read the laptop temperature

    Hi all
I searched TOSHIBA software Assits for a temperature gauge where I can read the temperature inside the computer, but have not been able to find anything.

Did I miss something? Or do I have to install a third party software for that? And if so, does anyone know any good?

    Hello

To my knowledge, you will not find any tools of temperature control material on Toshiba laptops. As far as I know that this tool is not preinstalled.
So, if you want to use such tool, so you can use any 3rd party application.
But I m not 100% sure what tools effective and what not.

I used the wonderful ;) advanced search option of this forum and found this topic:

It seems that the tool Hmonitor can properly read the temperature of the CPU.
    Maybe you could test it.

    Hi dariod

You can't find any info on the idle temp for this processor and graphics card because the temperature level is always different.
The laptop temperature depends on the temperature of the environment, the use of the laptop and power settings.

In Win Vista, you can change some settings to be able to affect the temperature of the CPU and the cooling module feature:

  • Satellite P750 - A069 high temperature

    Hey guys,.

Recently, I noticed that my laptop temperature is higher than usual. I've updated the BIOS and still the same thing. This high temperature really bothers me. Even if I ignore it, sometimes my laptop just stops because of the high temperature.

Can someone help me with this annoying situation, please?

    How to use your laptop?
I mean, it's very important that the cooling vents must be free.
I hope you use your laptop on the desk and there is enough room for air circulation.
    > stops... sometimes my laptop just because of the high temperature.
You are right. When notebook s material range temperature critical portable level stops down to avoid damage to the equipment. For this reason, it is very important for the cooling vents and cooling grill to be free. Right now laptop can take a deep breath and be cooled properly.

  • Portege M400 - system crashes, speeds fan near the top, does not start

I bought this new tablet in 2007 with Vista Ultimate. I upgraded to 2 GB of RAM a few months ago and keep up to date on the OS and antivirus updates. During the last week, the system began to hang, usually using MS OneNote but also when you navigate on the web or other applications. The computer can be either in tablet mode or laptop mode, when this happens, and it is usually on a flat and level. The grip has become more common of yesterday and today, it does not even start. Whenever it crashes, including now the fan suddenly accelerates. Every time that requires a difficult stop - I hold the power button for 5-7 seconds. Whenever it starts after the hanging, he asks to go through safe mode. The last time he asked to open the Windows repair.

I guess I'll have to send in for service. After reading some other posts, I noticed that others have experienced similar problems and I was wondering if someone had succeeded in solving them?

    Thank you.

    > I upgraded to 2 GB of RAM a few months ago and keep up to date on the OS and antivirus updates
You said you did a RAM upgrade these computers portable behavior can be caused by RAM memory modules defective too.

    Love all: _
You should also check if your laptop temperature is not too high.
In many cases if the temperature is too high the Windows OS on the laptop crashes and freezes.
I think after a long period of use, the vents may be blocked and this would prevent air from traffic and internal parts would not be properly cooled.

I clean my fans and cooling grids from time to time with a jet of compressed air. In this case, you could get rid of the dust and debris that is mainly responsible for these issues

    Hey,.

my laptop freezes completely if I let it be used for little more than 1 to 2 hours. Laptop works absolutely perfect as long, I continue to use it for hours...

But the moment I leave unused for about 1 to 2 hours.
It freezes completely. None of the keys work.
Mouse pad does not work, absolutely nothing.
I have to hard reboot the computer shutdown...

I checked the Device Manager, but there is no symbol exclamation everywhere... I'm absolutely stumped... some help please!

    Hello

Have you noticed a higher internal temperature?
Maybe the laptop freezes due to a higher temperature. I noticed this problem on my 6 year old laptop temperature high affected modules of RAM and operating system did not

I cleaned the cooling fans and the cooling of the grids using a jet of air compressed.
I blow the air through fan cooling and removed a lot of dust and debris after the fans spin faster and the temperature dropped to a normal level.

Maybe you should try this too

  • Satellite L500-1XL - caused overheating USB ports to melt

Two of my USB ports have melted due to overheating when using several programs. I can't use a port as they melted inside, what happened when the line and Open Office, also runs the USB taken on my camera and the printer were damaged.

This means I have to replace everything above, but how to prevent it reproduce?

    Hello Thunder

Believe me, that's not easy to discuss this issue. Generally mobile phones have God, cooling systems, and something like that should not happen. When you use Notepad on a regular, with other words placed on computer desk laptop s cooling fans and cooling grills is not blocked and laptop can resume his breath and material can be cooled properly.

To be honest, I can't imagine that something like this is possible. Initially, all plastic components used in the laptop can handle with a high enough temperature and, second, USB ports are placed on the side and it is not logical for me. I m wondering how high must be the laptop temperature when this happens.

In this case I highly recommend to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider as soon as possible. They check your laptop. They can see which produce inside and give you useful tips how you use your laptop computer in the future.

By the way: what model of laptop do you have?

    Good luck.

  • By using the Tecra M11 - 11J with an Express Port Replicator II

Currently, I have the Tecra on a cooling rack, but I think to buy an Express Port Replicator II.

The question is: the duplicator will dissipate heat from the laptop. It would be useful in this regard?

I would be happy to comment.

    What about John

    Hi John

I agree with Akuma. Port replicator doesn t have the vents inside and you can't wait until the laptop temperature will be reduced because of the port replicator.
The reasons why the port replicator is are different and, in general, has nothing to do with the computer laptop cooling.

  • Portege R500 stops automatically

Portege R500 stops automatically when it is connected to the power for a certain period.
It comes on Toshiba power cable and cable igo juice. Tends to happen when it's hot, with or without battery.

Yellow flashes 2 long, short 2, 1 x long, 3 short. Only way to reset is to subscribe to the battery and the power cable.
Occurred after be connected for some time and will work only on power outlet after a long wait.
Now the case more often, even if the connection to the laptop isn't hot.

This is the 3rd generation of this laptop I've had over the last 10 years and with the memory of mid-life upgrade, they seem to be very robust and this is the fundamental problem only that I have met.

    Are there patches?

    Hello

The blink code means that a hardware problem has been detected on the motherboard.
So I think this could be a hardware related issue and not an overheating problem
    But nothing is impossible
You can try to clean the cooling fans/modules with a jet of compressed air
Would it help to remove dust from the computer laptop cooling grids
This workaround is useful if the laptop temperature is too high and the laptop stops automatically to avoid that the pieces of equipment against damage

    Check and try

  • Satellite L855 cut 3 times due to overheating

Hi, me too I have concerns on my Toshiba L855 and total heat produced.

I bought a portable high spec that I use for intensive several software and browser sessions.

Tonight I got to 5 GB used of 8 GB, 15% of CPU, disk writing 25% average

The temperature got about 74 c.

I had the cell phone cut out 3 times in the week last due to overheating.

At the moment the integrity monitor Toshiba says Im to 68% CPU temp and 68% fan speed.

The heat generated is crazy, why don't you just give us the possibility of having the fan operating at 100% and take a little more heat.

Laptop is only 6 months and under warranty. My behavior and its use is now no different when I bought everything first.

    Any advice?

    > The generated heat is crazy, why don't you just give us the possibility of having the fan operating at 100% and take a little more heat.

I guess you don't know that you can control the CPU and cooling performance module.

This can be done in the power management settings:
[How to manage Windows 7 power management features | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD12017W0001R01.htm]

You should concentrate on the management of processor power and cooling method option

Furthermore s laptop temperature depends on the use of the laptop.
Performance heavy stress on the CPU and GPU, and this leads to more heat and high heat dissipation.

Finally and above all to ensure that your laptop is on the table and if sure there is enough free space to maintain the circulation of fresh air.
Don t use the laptop in bed, sofa or knees.

  • Satellite L755D-S5104 - does not know what the problem

    Hello
    I keep a L755D-S5104.
    AMD A6 3420 M with Radeon 6520G
    4 GB of Ram
    500 GB hard drive.

The problem with my laptop recently is that I am getting i/o device error (WriteToDisk) errors thus the laptop hangs / crashes with a screen of jibberish/sand-of looking.

So far, I got error screen with my PC as well before and I'm pretty sure it's because of the unstable driver for video/chipset. I solved as before with the installation of older drivers (but for my laptop, I can't find a choice of versions)

I don't know if my hard drive is the cause which as well (due to the error WriteToDisk) since mainly these two errors occur at the same time. Maybe my drive is in good health, but the video/chipset driver is causing the problem?

My laptop temperatures are normal and there is no noisy fan noise etc.

HDTune bad block scan displays the status of my drive HARD 100% OK but the chkdsk /r utility accidents near about 45000/67000 (screen white/jibberish causes), also, I have attached my laptop HARD drive to my computer and run the chkdsk utility it without error.

I don't know what to do? Given that I've hardly know his choice of drivers for S5104. The error started to appear since the last two days and before that my laptop was perfectly fine.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is. What you can try is to do some tests and, as I see you do this very well.
Try to get the new HARD drive and install original recovery image on it and to experiment with the settings and clean the preinstalled OS. If you do this thanks for posting comments.

By the way: all the drivers, you should be able to find on http://support.toshiba.com/drivers
Just put Satellite L755D-S5104 from here and you will get the list of all available drivers.

  • How to remove the update of the BIOS of Satellite L735-11 d?

    Hey everybody

I had recently installed the latest update of the Bios 2.50 and I try to remove and install the old version which I believe its 2.20 coz I noticed, after this update, my laptop temperature is always high and the fan runs faster than usual! And I'm not able to use my laptop keyboard coz it s too hot: S

    Please help me.

    Information
    Toshiba Satellite L735-11 d

Problem is that Toshiba offers the latest BIOS versions only on Toshiba download page you will not be able to find the old version of the BIOS.
What you can try is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They have access to the database of the BIOS and can get the older version for you.

I put t know how you use your laptop computer but use it on the desk and be sure the ventilation openings are not blocked. Laptop must be able to catch his breath. If you use the laptop for some daily use only balanced power management. This will reduce the performance of the computer laptop and laptop will run a little more slowly and produce less heat.

  • Satellite A500-134 fan problem

    Hello!

I recently bought a laptop Toshiba A500-134, and I have two problems with that.
First of all, the largest: fans will always practically. Currently, the temperature is the following (I checked with Everest):
    CPU: 37
    CPU 1 core: 36 c
    CPU core 2: 36 c
    DispIO GPU: 46C
    MemIO GPU: 44 c
    The laptop temperature: 34 c

The speed of the fans (utility Toshiba): 73% and sometimes more (and this is waaay out loud)
Is this normal? Tried another (same type) for laptop and seems he did the same things. He doesn't do anything, that the Vista desktop are running, and the fans are still ongoing.

The second problem is a high tone sound from speakers. In my view, the processor to affect it. When I change the portable powersaving mode, the sound is silent, or it disappears.

    Hey Buddy

To be honest I n t see a problem with the temperature of your fan or your laptop.
CPU and GPU temperature appears to be low and there s nothing unusual.

Cooling performance modules can be changed in Vista's power management:

Check it the TOSHIBA Power Saver-> cooling method

  • Satellite A200-1J0 becomes very hot

When I work on my laptop (4-5 hours) long hourks, he is so hot I can't even put my hand on the buttons, and sometimes it's just turns off = ((())
I don't know what the problem is?

Some people have the same problem?
This bad trend started because I installed Windows XP instead of Vista standart.

    Laptot: Toshiba Satellite A200-1J0

    Hello

Oh. You have installed Win XP? Well buddy. In this case you must update the BIOS too!
There is a BIOS designed especially for Win XP, and you should update if you changed your Win XP OS.

In addition, you should install the Toshiba Power Saver and need to change the settings in the configuration of basic Toshiba Power Saver.
You will find the option called cooling method. Set it to the Max Performance.

In addition, you can set the speed of the CPU at a lower level processing and the method of control of the CPU to Auto.

On the other hand, your laptop can overheat because of the clogged vents and cooling modules. I know this because my laptop temperature was high until I removed the dust from the cooling fans.
I used a jet of compressed air. You can buy different computer dealers or online shops.

    See you soon
    Jimi
