Laptop will not stop.
My laptop 2 years w / El Capitan upgrade has been great to work for a long time. Now, it does not turn off. I reloaded the OS... any help. Now what?
Hello Pmwilson,
Make sure that all your applications are closed and just go to the Apple menu in the upper right and click Close. If problems persist, try the following hotfixes:
- Try to determine if a particular application is the source of the problem. If an application crashes when you always stop and cancel it shutdown process can be updated (or reinstall).
- Perform a software update (open the App Store, then click on updates > update all).
- Update any software that you have installed outside of the App Store. In general, open the app and choose Help > application or update > update software.
- Make sure you have FileVault disabled (System Preferences > Privacy & Security > FileVault > turn off FileVault).
- Open disk utility. Choose the main hard drive and click on check the disc. If there is no problem, click Repair disk.
- Choose the main volume in disk (below your primary drive) utility and choose verify disk permissions > repair disk permissions.
- Reset the SMC. Follow this Apple Support article.
- Back up and reinstall Mac OS X.

Hello
I recently bought an Acer E5-571-54YJ.
The laptop works very well and fits my needs for the school.
Only problem I have with it is that it will not stop or go into sleepmode.
When I stopped it after a few seconds when the screen goes black I mean the closed disc and fans to stop spinning, but blue remains on. I must then manually turn it off by holding the power button.
Even with its in sleep mode. The light stays on and I can't turn it back on again. I have to first manually stopped in now the power button and then start it upward.
I tried to disable the quick start, but this does not solve the problem.
I hope someone can help me quickly because it's really annoying that I can't put it in mode 'sleep'.If you want more information, just ask.
Greetings,
Jean-Paul
First of all, make sure that you have the latest version of the BIOS. If the update to the latest version of the BIOS fixes the problem, then please don't read any more. If the update to the latest version of the BIOS doesn't fix it, then continue reading.

Do not read anything below, or attempt anything below unless you have the latest version of the BIOS and will always have the problem.
If you have Haswell-ATU as the computer linked below - i5 4210U, then the only two known workarounds I know are using the Intel Management Engine interface driver 8.1 Windows 9.5 or install Intel MEI 11.0.0.1181. If you have Intel Management Engine interface driver 11.0.0.1146 installed, it would be the problem.
https://UK.hardware.info/product/269206/Acer-Aspire-E5-571-54yj/specifications
Internet search or this forum. There are tens of thousands of messages that describe problems associated with sleep/stop Haswell-ATU and Windows 10 and usually driver boost a/k/a turbo Intel MEI 11.0.0.1146 11.0.0.1146.
Yet once, most people use the 9.5 intel management engine interface driver (a Windows 8.1 driver) as a workaround to resolve the problem. Go to Device Manager and try to restore. Roll back may or may not give you the Windows 8.1 driver. You may need to install it manually.

laptop will not stop mode hibernation even after changing the system power settings.
Hello
I hope someone can help! I have a friend who is Dell laptop (Inspiron 1720 using Vista, I think than sp2) just started his laptop goes into hibernation mode randomly. He has never encouraged or warned against this hibernation. He has apparently hit the power button to sleep after his party in hiber. mode and press power to turn, but it will still in hibernation mode again and again. He disappeared into his system settings and turned everything forever or off, hes checked it several times and still, it still goes into hibernation mode. It's a little frustrating for him because he cannot yet ask for help, so why I'm here asking for help on his behalf. Its battery is apparently dead and does not have a load more but he has been dead for some time. He tried to run the laptop with the battery but nothing does not change or resolve the issue. can anyone help or suggest? Reformat im thinking is the only option, but he will lose a lot of information without being able to get all of his stuff backed up before his pc will again into hibernation mode
My suggestions:
1 turn off the hibernation option. Procedures are very easy... Here is the link:http://www.internetfixes.com/vista_tips/IF01166.htm
2. to avoid that the computer will "sleep mode" instead:
Back to the Power Options window > click on change Plan settings > click Exchange Advanced Ppwer settings > scroll multimedia settings, expand it (lick the sign more) > expand when media sharing > plugged in, set it as to prevent idling to sleep > click OKFor the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

Tried to import pictures. Will not stop or go away and I can't turn off my laptop
I was importing pictures from a SD card to my Macbook pro and tried to do them all at once. There were about 700 pictures. Once, I moved their this tab below that presented themselves. After about 5 minutes of nothing don't be going on I tried again and now there are 2. I waited about an hour and nothing changed so I pressed X to stop the copy, and now it won't go away. He won't let me leave and because it will not stop I can't turn off my computer. What should I do to get rid of this.
The easy way to recover is to hold down the power button until it turns off the MacBook Pro. Press the power button to restart the MacBook Pro.

Satellite M40X-115 - cursor will not stop!
I have a toshiba Satellite M40X-115 laptop with XP. My cursor starts moving and will not stop. For example when I try to log on to the laptop and click in the password field. the cursor starts moving, fills the space, I try to delete it, but the cursor continues to move. When you search the web, if I click on the arrow down, IE starts to scroll to the bottom and will not stop. If I open word, the time wherever I click on the page, the cursor starts to spacing.
Any suggestions?
It is not easy to understand what the problem is here, but did you notice this problem when you disable touchpad and you use an external mouse only?

K010 ENVY: my laptop will not turn off
Hello
When I shutdown/hibernate/standby/resume my laptop, it will die completely.
All programs will be closed (when stop or restart) and I think that OS will also close. But the laptop will not turn off. Power LIGHT and fan will stay on.
And when I try to Hibernate, everything is ok, but I have the same problem.
Whenever I have to turn it off by holding the power button, otherwise the battery will be discharged.
After manual turn off, when I turn it on again, everything works correctly:
-If hibernation: OS will continue to last situation.
-If start/stop: OS works normally without error or warning.
After sleep, OS works from the beginning. Because the data stored in RAM and will be deleted after power off.
Perhaps a portable automatic perevent equipment turned off. All the drivers are up to date.
Is there a parameter/software to check and fix my problem?
Thank you
Hello
You are welcome
On some machines, the pilot for 11 series IMEI has been known to cause that kind of question of the judgment, so it may be worth trying an earlier version.
You can use the following method to install an earlier version of the driver IMEI.
Download driver IMEI on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.
http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp66001-66500/sp66228.exe
Disable your wireless card (should be f12 ).
Open your download folder and run the installer - it warns you that it is an earlier version, but simply continue.
When finished, restart the laptop.
If the computer shuts down correctly, turn on your wireless adapter and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the driver IMEI again.

my laptop do not stop proprly .when I do stop my laptop to come in blue screen so how do slove this problem?
You have an external equipment attached and turned on when stopping?
All applications are closed before attempting to stop?
Try to do a clean boot:

I would also make sure that all the drivers for hardware and software updates have been applied.
How long have you been experiencing this problem?
Have you installed a new hardware or software since you started facing this problem?
Also perform the following operations:
Check your hard drive for errors:
Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r
When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.
