  Hello

  The blue light does not turn on automatically when I start my laptop upward, which means that the wireless is turned on. I have to press the orange button until it turns blue and then the wireless works. Although not a major problem, it's awkward because it takes a few minutes for the wireless to kick and find the signal wi - fi etc.

  It's never happened before and I can only think it must be linked to me recently to get the card out wireless as part of the process of getting the fan to clear a jam. The wireless adapter has been connected back up ok because it does not start when you press the button, but I can't help but think that disconnection has energised it this problem, which means that it does not start automatically when the laptop is pulled up.

  I have a Compaq CQ60 running Win7 32 bit.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance.

  Try the following.

  Download and reinstall HP Wireless Assistant from the link below.

  http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp44501-45000/sp44700.exe

  When the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

  When windows rebooted, open the HP wireless Assistant, click the properties button, enter a tick against "Independent controls for wireless devices installed" and then click on the button "turn on all.

• Windows Defender won't start does not automatically, it's because I use AVG anti-virus software?

  I recently downloaded the free version of AVG v.9, which seems to work very well. However Windows Defender no longer seems work fine, normally this is an error message saying that it does not work and I have to manually start even if I set it to start automatically. Sometimes it does not start at all.  Is it a problem because I use AVG and I have to run Windows defender, while running AVG?

  AVG and defender in the face of a conflict between them.

  And even if you change Microsoft Security Essentials, it will turn off Defender, because it has its own integrated version of Defender.

  My G61-320US... LAPTOP CLOSED JUST BY ITSELF AND I USED IT... WHEN I PUT IT, BUT I HAD AN OPTION OF RECOVERY AND HAS DONE FOR MORE THAN 3 DAYS NOW IT DID NOT START UP AND WHEN I PRESS THE POWER BUTTON IT JUST BLINKS OUNCES AND SHE

  Do a hard reset:

  Disconnect all devices and remove all devices USB and SD cards

  Disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery and then press on and press and hold power for at least 15 seconds.

  Plug the power adapter (but do not insert the battery), press the power button.

  If the computer starts normally, close and reinsert the battery.

  It would be an idea to make the hard drive Diagnostics.

  I just reinstalled Vista OS because my computer just kept a loop saying a recent hardware or software installation may cause a problem but I haven't installed hardware or software.   I hope that you formatted the HD before reinstalling, if not, then format & let auto install vista. This

  is a clean install, unplug the network cable, printers, etc. before you start. Also, if it's a desktop pc,

  replace battery MB, manual reading, & intel recommend to wait 10 minutes before a new

  installed, this clears the CMOS memory. Once thru, on reboot, reset date/time etc., as it is by default, as well as change to

  material of the add-on.

• Backups of Vista won't start does not as expected

  Backups of Vista were starting automatically as scheduled for the last 3 years, but now they do not start automatically.  The backup works fine when I start it manually.  I did not any changes to the schedule or to the device where the data is stored (external USB disk).  I recently put on maintenance of Vista via Windows Update, did not observe other problems.  Running Vista Home Premium 32-bit on a PC from Dell Quad with 4 GB of memory.  Any ideas on what is at the origin of the outbreak of backups to fail?

  We have a weekly reboot of the server, after restarting the service manager is not automatically indicating. I put the Manager as a windows service, and the file GLOBALS is uppercase only. I checked in the windows service, there is a name of service with OGGMGR1 and it is set to automatic. My error log file displays the following error:

  May be that Manager service tried to start automatically before starting the database services because you could use the credentials database in your mgr settings file.

  Use BOOTDELAYMINUTES setting in your file manager settings, this BOOTDELAYMINUTES can be used to delay the start AUTOMATIC settings until the database services are
  has started.

  This parameter is used only for Windows.

  HP dv9000 vista laptop won't start. Attempt to restore repair result several times cannot be made online. BIOS ran diagnostics, everything was good except the hard disk, hd chk result: replace the hard drive. F11 entered to access advanced hp Recovery Manager options tempted towards the top of the entire disk, all files show while listing to back up, attached to my external hard drive current over the back with success.  Plugged external on another laptop, new files since the previous backup are no where.  Should I buy a new external hard drive and repeat the backup via Recovery Manager Advanced Options or should I remove the internal hard disk and insert it into a case and apply in usb on another laptop to view the files.  I know when my computer crashed, I had too many windows/tabs open and too much process and tried to interrupt a process and I confused his little brain and now he has Alzheimer's disease.  I am freaked because I'll lose everything 2012 including some very important documents and about 50 000 pictures HD (yes I learned my lesson backup!) I am in crisis mode because I recently became sick and my photos and documents is vital for my next year of chemotherapy and radiation. Please advice are extremely appreciated. Thank you

  This backup after pressing F11 is a HP backup option, not a Microsoft option.

  I suggest that you contact HP or ask their Support Forums.

  It's the normal advice I'd give to record data; but we have no idea of the State of your hard drive.

  Saving your files:

  You can remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure > plug it into another computer > and try to read and copy your data in this way.

  Or, you can download Knoppix > make a bootdisk to > start your system with it (IF your material is all work) > and copy your data from the hard drive like that.

When I woke up I found a message on the screen, operating system not found. I restarted. Now it starts and appearance of the new as usual Windows logo, but it does not move, I mean points keeps moving in a circle with the Windows Logo, but nothing happens.
  I tried in the BIOS and it detects the hard drive, it means that hard drive still works.
  How to solve this problem?

  It didn't reinstall the ATL update, it reinstalled 2005 Redistributable. So now, I have 2005 and 2010 x 86 both. And it says that two dates installiation are two days after I installed the 2010. I know 2005 and the update was uninstalled, because I checked after restart the computer and before you install the 2010 version. Very curious.

  But my Screensaver works and access to the camera seemed to work after uninstalling / reinstalling the software. So, good. Thank you.

  With most HP laptops the first thing that do is to unplug power removed battery and push and hold the power button for 15 to 30 seconds to reset the machine.

  After you have done that reset for the power back in and try again, sometimes get you lucky.
