Layer Style dialog box

This question is in reference using the layer Style dialog box in CS 5. When I apply the tool gradient in the layer style box how can I get to the setting of the applied slope. In the center of the box advanced blending, it is therefore more means to overturn or change/adjust the gradient applied. Am I relegated to just using the gradient tool now?

I just watched the dialogs for Photoshop 6 to CS5 Photoshop layer Style, and I see no evidence that a function oriented Gradient has never been in the box labeled Advanced Blending.  However, there is a Gradient Overlay style along the left side.  -What are you looking for?  There is a box reverse [] and you can adjust the gradient in detail via a second dialog box by clicking on the gradient graph itself.

It works that way for you?

If I'm off target here, can you please describe what you are wanting to do more in detail and ideally to capture a screen showing what it is you are looking for?

-Christmas

  • Half of the layer styles are missing

    Hello

    All of a sudden, when I double click on a layer to apply a style, half of them disappeared.

    You can see the outer glow, stroke, and many others simply do not appear. How can I get these?

    Thank you very much in advance

    Hi Alohayamuna,

    Click on the "fx" icon in the lower left corner of the layer Style dialog box, and then choose "Reset to default list." (See below)

    Note the entry for "Remove Hidden effects;" this will hide all entries that are not in use. Reset bring em all.

  • Layer styles Photoshop - need better to create size?

    Hello!

    We worked on creating some Styles of layers Photoshop to sell as a set. We have created all the artwork, but when we downloaded the file was HUGE and it's only a game!  We wondered what would be the best size to create the layer Style, we looked for the forums and the internet without any response, we can't find a way to determine the size of an individual style or to extract this info. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you in advance!

    In the layer Style dialog box, hold mouse pointer over model and it will show you the pixel dimensions in the pop up window. Pixels per inch resolution (Image > Image size > resolution) plays no role, dimensions in pixels only.

    Image/pattern scaling model when developing style won't style smaller in size as Photoshop will copy original and save with style. If your overlay image is saved as a template 4000x3000px it will be saved as well as other layer effects regardless of the fact that you may have climbed it up to 10% for your final style.

    I created and published tile seamless models that are 4, 8, 12x12px in size and they are good for the web and communities of the Layer Styles which usually appears on the web. Imagine if you create something to feel where going 300 pixels on an inch then 2 pixels will be lost.

  • Savings layer style

    Hi - I'm unable to save a layer style - but where to get registered again style to find.   I have a drop shadow style recorded - but how I recall?

    Thanks in advance

    In each window-> Styles or the large layer Style dialog box, by selecting the tab Styles (the most high). Or are you talking about load styles from external files?

  • Change the blending mode in the layer Style

    On a Mac, there at - it a shortcut to change the blending mode of the layer in the layer Style dialog box? On a pc, you can click on the blending mode menu and then once highlight you can scroll with the arrows. I know outside the layer Style dialog box you can shift and + or - with the tool moving, but the advantage to do inside your layer style dialog box is it does not affect your story. In addition, it's something I want to be able to do with blending all layer Style effect modes. Thank you.

    No there isn't actually. Shortcuts mode Option shift mixture should really work here, but not

  • Dialog box style off the screen

    While using InDesign full screen (3440 x 1440), the object style dialog box is on the top of the screen and cannot be dragged on because the title bar is also off the screen.  The dialog box cannot be resized (who usually move it), so I'm not sure how to make visible.  Restoration of the app is not help either - the dialog box is still mostly off the screen.  In addition, the Windows key + ShiftKey + left arrow (or one of the arrows by the way) does not affect the location of the upper part of the dialog box, passes just a screen that displays the dialog by mistake on.

    The operating system is Windows 10 on a Surface Pro 3 with a monitor LG Ultrawide.

    Thank you

    Richard

    Steve,

    I contacted Adobe support, and the winning solution was to detach the Surface Pro 3 and raise InDesign with only the single monitor of 2440 x 1440.  The object Style Options of windows then jump-up in a usable place.  When I brought the Tablet, reopened InDesign and brought to the top of the window, it was still where I left it on the tablet screen and I could drag it to a site that is usable on the external monitor.  Solved the problem, but I think that it a workaround solution.  No app should place a dialog box or the same window partially off the screen in the current context of monitor/Bangkok.  Looks like a tweek for InDesign, go ahead... ;-)

    Thank you

  • Changed to "sanskrit" police search dialog boxes

    I am running the latest version of CC2015, including InDesign. I am also running Extensis Fusion 6

    I opened an existing InDesign document and was create and apply different paragraph styles to the text. Everything works as usual.

    Then I noticed something very strange is happening in the paragraph Style dialog box... I clicked to apply a paragraph style, the name of this style in the dialog box has changed to what looked like sanskrit.

    Other names of the styles remained in the normal English language police.

    As I clicked through the different styles, once it has been clicked/underlined, the police would change from sanskrit. And then go back to normal when English is not highlighted.

    I leave InDesign, but this document remained damaged by this bug.

    I created a new document. Without open the damaged, document the boxes in the new document dialog seemed normal. But as soon as I opened the document of the problem, the problem appeared then in the new document as well.

    I left the suitcase.

    I tried to quit and restart InDesign, but now the problem was there even when I created a new document.

    I have reset the preferences.

    Problem still there and I don't know where else to solve problems.

    Advice on a fix would be much appreciated. (lease keep simple instructions!)

    On the first place, I would try to remove preferences, if this does not help, go to the CC Desktop Application and uninstall it (a link uninstall will appear next to the name of the Application If you hover over with the mouse) a Setup again. And check in the preferences of this Application, if you choose the appropriate language.

  • A change from all the other layer styles layer style? Disable this option?

    I'm sure that there is a simple answer to this, but I can't seem to find it. When I apply a style to a layer in CS2, and lets say that I give it a drop shadow that is different (it is 110degrees instead of 90 degrees for example) compared with other shadows in my other layers, the layer style curent will change all the other layer styles in all areas. I looked everywhere for some settings to modify for each layer individual keeps his own style, but I can't seem to find it. I want that each layer to have his own style attribute and does not change the rest, how to fix this?

    Thanks for your help!

    You should uncheck the global light option in the layer styles dialog.

  • Bug in the advanced Recordset dialog box?

    I have setup a site using the ASP VBScript server technology. Somehow, in the advanced Recordset dialog box I have the ASP.NET option with the parameters instead of Variables. According to the documentation should not display the settings window when using classic ASP. Its almost like Dreamweaver I'm using ASP.NET.

    When I test the retrieved recordset object data are correctly with my access according to the SQL DB. I tried to uninstall Vista Microsoft IIS support ASP.NET. This reduces the options of server technology during the definition of the Web site; but still no change when choosing ASP VBScript or ASP advanced Javascript - the Recordset dialog box still says SETTINGS VARIABLES not? Anyone know what could be the problem?

    Help appreciated,
    Mag

    System: Vista Business, Dreamweaver CS3

    The answer will depend on the version of Dreamweaver that you use. The update Dreamweaver 8.0.2 moved to the parameter type of the Recordset changes dialog box in the manner in which the recordset is constructed. The help documentation for DW8.0.2 does not seem to have been updated to reflect this change. You see the old style dialog box, if you go to:
    Help-> using Dreamweaver-> Dynamic Pages do-> define the Sources of dynamic content-> defining a Recordset-> creating a Recordset advanced by writing SQL

    So if you are using Dreamweaver 8.0.2 or later (CS3 is the next version), then you will see the settings in the dialog recordset in ASP, and you know what you are supposed to see.

  • Change the INITIAL values in the layer... Layer styles... Drop the Shadow dialog box

    How can I change the channel values... Layer styles... Drop the Shadow dialog box so that the values that appear when I OPEN the box first are ones that I commonly use?

    For example, once I open the dialog box, the blending Mode is always 'Multiply' and the Angle is always "120". I use still 'Normal' and '45. Is there a place where I can make my default values 'Normal' and '45 '?

    What version of photoshop are you using?

    New versions of photoshop have a button to use by default at the bottom of the dialog box.

  • No dialog box styles effects

    first time user PHE.  start with test.  Then bought.  bought a book that says to access the dialog box styles double-click the fx to bring up a dialog to the effects box.  Nothing happens.  Has this feature changed?

    You are looking at the wrong thing in the effect controls panel. With fx on that icon it is shortcut to display everything: which means that everything in the Panel. It has nothing to do with the layer styles in itself, other than that they are one of the types of content included. You cannot change the layer styles in the effect controls panel. To apply a layer style in the effect controls panel, click the layer styles icon:

    Use the drop down menu to choose a category, and then double click on one to apply it. The only way ever to get the style editor is via the Panel layer, because you can only change the instances of styles applied to post-secondary studies.

  • I use an iMac with El Capitan and Photoshop CS6. I'm trying to add a shadow to a text on a picture. I followed the instructions to double the text layer but not dropshadow dialog box appears and I can't. Where would it be?

    Double click on the text on the right side of the display panel does not cause a dialog box open. I just need to know where the dialog box is so I can add the drop shadow

    Please make sure that you double-click on the text layer in the layer panel not the name of the layer. With the text, it can be difficult if the name is too long. You can also right-click on the text layer in the Panel and bring up the contextual menu and select 'blending Options '.

  • Can't see anything in dialog boxes and layer/tool names are missing. Help!

    Adobe Help.jpg

    I noticed that after updating to Photoshop 2015. Since then, I have uninstalled re-installed via creative cloud, 2014 and 2015 but still having the same issue.

    I don't see any options in the pop up dialog boxes (new image, the image size, curves, layer options etc...). I also can't name/Rename layers and can not see the tool names. Before the update of 2015, I've been on Photoshop 2014 for a good half a year with no problems so I don't think it's a problem with my operating system or laptop. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    This could be. They have revamped the user interface in 2015, so if you receive just with him, I guess, but since you get it with 2014 also, it could be something the OS.

  • Photoshop opens the dialog box when you try to fill a layer with locked transparent pixels

    This script should set the layer to lock transparent pixels and then fill the layer with a color. She is doing this, except when it is in the filling phase, it opens the dialog box fill, and you have to hit OK.

    If you omit the transparent pixel line, it works as not expected, no dialog boxes.

    Is there a way to remove the box? Or I'm doing something wrong, which is causing the box to open?

    #target photoshop
    app.bringToFront();

    doc = app.activeDocument;
    doc.artLayers[0].isBackgroundLayer = false;
    doc.artLayers[0].transparentPixelsLocked = true;
    app.activeDocument.selection.fill(app.foregroundColor);

    Not sure why this is happening.

    But I would recommend blocking the above and using the AM code for a fill that pays tribute to transparency.

    #target photoshop

    app.bringToFront ();

    doc = app.activeDocument;

    doc.artLayers [0] .isBackgroundLayer = false;

    doc.activeLayer = doc.artLayers [0];
