Layers in layers that record my smart objects

I need my compositions of layers can also save my layers to smart objects, like that I'll be able to have the different States of a Web site, reducing the number of layers in a big way. Without this feature, I find that smart objects somewhat useless feature layers...

Layer Comps do not record layer comps in smart objects. Those of more or less separate files that must be open to view or change his compositions.

  • Linked smart objects nested within the smart object, not automatically update

I notice that if I have a smart object bound or smart, group with other layers in a new smart object feature updates of content updated the stops working and has to be done manually.

This would be the creation of a mobile application by saying where I need the same key throughout all my 10 files.

Say I have a button throughout several documents and would like to be able to easily change the color in all documents. I'd create an object bound and intelligent color sample. Then in my paper, I put this object linked above my shape of button and create a clipping mask. Then create a dynamic object out of these 2 layers.  I place this same button in all my documents. In my mind, I would always open the object bound and smart (color chart), change the color and it should be updated for the buttons in all of my open documents.

This is not updated in the document all. Need to go in the dynamic button object and update updated content.

  • Batch export smart object layers

    Hello.

At work, I need to make a few models of covers of DVDs, magazines, books, etc.. Sometimes, I have several options to do both, as 20 magazine covers. Usually, I'm doing 30 layers within the smart object that I use in my comp and go by turning each on, update dynamic object and saving with a different file name.

Is there a way to make an action that:

    1. Light (visible) has layers within a dynamic object.
    2. Save the smart object.
    3. Update in the main image.
    4. Save the image under a new name (if can be the name of the smart object layer, better).
    5. Turn on the next layer in the smart object and repeat.

    Does anyone have an idea?

    Thank you

    Luiz

Why so many composite of layers files.  I think that everything you need is a PSD with layer comp that would save different versions of the DVD covers in the form of flat jpeg files.

  • Layering with smart objects for the architectural atmosphere photos in PS

    Help...

I was wondering if anyone has had experience working professional architectural photographs in PS?

I'm interested in Help and learn how to use the technique of what architectural layering of many photographers use to produce different exhibitions, an Interior into a single image.

Many pros prefer this method tells me, because it offers more control and flexibility than the use of HDR.

A photographer, that I talked to said:

"I also support different exposures and use under or above the exposures for extreme areas needing adjustment." Dynamic objects simplify things by using a single RAW file whenever in range".

I don't understand this; Anyone got any links to the Web sites, etc., I can learn more about this method?

    Thank you...

From your post, I think that what they say is you using a raw image, you can change the exposure in camera raw. This can be done at any time by double clicking on the icon of the layer that should be a dynamic object, so that you can go back to camera raw at any time change the exposure.

You can set a camera raw default to open an inphotoshop of the image as a smart object. In the lower right in camera raw, you will see either a button called open an image or a button called open object. This can be changed in the options of workflow that looks like a link html below the image in camera raw (this location may have changed since CS3). A shortcut is to press and hold the SHIFT key, it will change how this button.

  • Is it possible to combine smart objects related with layers?

I create in my compositions of another linked smart object layer. Now, I want to show them in my psd file main, as different States (showing the different States of the header of a Web site).  Always when I try to change the status of the dynamic object bound to the title of the Properties window, there is always change for all layers.

Why I want to do? I want to use the smart object bound to different files.

But duplicates of the CG with the corresponding layers applied can be used (shown and hidden) in the layers of the container document.

  • Photoshop script that records with different active layers?

Greetings. Long time user of Photoshop... but looking for a way to streamline some workflows. I regularly jobs where I need to create variations of what I am working on. To do this, I have basic layers that are common to all the images of finals, can have a set of layers that have sections which vary on them. Now, I heard some Scripts that can be run in Photoshop, so I was wondering if there is a way to have such a script all variants, evolution which layers "variation" is visible, as it does. Thus, if the layers were piled up like:

    Overlay shared

    Variant 6

    Variant 5

    Variant 4

    Option 3

    Variant 2

    Option 1

    Shared content

    Shared base

All shared layers would be visible, while the script would save the Variant 1 file with the Variant 1 layer visible also... Variant 2 with Variant 2 visible (and Variant 1 tilt turn back), etc. Such a thing is possible in Photoshop with the script? And if so... How capable is he? If the file format was more like:

    Overlay shared

    Level 2 option 3

    Level 2 option 2

    Level 2 option 1

    Variation of 1 level 3

    Level 1 Variant 2

    Variation of 1 level 1

    Shared content

    Shared base

When I needed to save the files where the script activated level 1 Variant 1, then saved on each of the 3 files with the level 2 variants (file1 would have level 1 Variant 1 + level 2 option 1 active, then File2 should have level 1 Variant 1 + level 2 option 2 active... etc)... is it possible?

Not necessarily need someone to provide a script, I'm pretty happy to jump in and learn, if I get an indication that I wouldn't just spinning my wheels on something that is not possible. Thank you, in advance, for all the answers.

Yes, this would be possible. If the files have different numbers of layers, which would make it more difficult, because you'd have to this script so that the script know which layers to enable or disable. It would be just a matter of creating a 'loop' and going through the layers. It would be worth something even in the name of the layer that would leave the script to know which layer must stay all the time.

  • illustr. CS3 savings stop meet several layers - ever record

    Hello.

I create a document of AI with about 95 layers that only 10-15 contained up to now. (file size ~ 30MB with images, simulating a Flash pages complicated animation web site).

Suddenly, I support on record, and after that status has reached almost halfway, it stack... Wait 10 minutes even, nothing happens. Only way to stop it (win xp pro) Task Manager

When I remove about 15 layers, it records ok.

Searching the Internet, I found someone else finding the same conclusion. If the file HAVE, contains more than a certain number of layers, the file cannot be saved!

Please confirm this matter and please fix it with an update, as soon as possible.

I tested even with 120 empty layers (or more) the .ai is saved ok. Thus, the bug is present only when there is some content in some layers...

    Thank you.

PS. now, the only solution is to break down my document into separate files...

Please confirm this matter and please fix it with an update, as soon as possible.

Oh that I could... You look at the user-to-user forum, which means that I (we) are just as capable of updating Illy as you.  If you want to report to Adobe, there is an online form that once you fill it up, probably gets printed, wrapped, stuck in a tube pneumatic and sucked a few lots away in some dusty offices far away. (or if she goes to the Seattle Office, perhaps it is pumped well out in the ship channel) Some would say that Adobe fixes bugs.  Others say they call these bugs updated, and a fee of $300 for them. Some would rather not reopen this can of worms.

Over-decaffeinated monologues side - your problem: I never had the experience myself, but have you tried to save without compatibility .pdf lit?  Which would reduce considerably the size of the file, and also, I guess, the complexity of the case.

Hi there, when I drop my photo in photoshop it disappears, it shows in the layers that it is there, but not in my screen?

    Hello

May I know if you use mac or a window.

If you are using windows, please check the color profile assigned to the monitor, it could be because of the corrupt color profile.

    • Right-click anywhere on the desktop, and then choose the screen resolution
    • In the resolution of the screen the dialog box click the parameters in advance
    • The graphics card settings box will be the opening upwards
    • Go in the color management tab and click on color management

    • Click Add at the bottom, if this button is not highlighted check the option 'use my settings for this device'

    • In the next screen, provide you a list of the color profile. Scroll down and choose "sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1"

    • Click ok in each window.

Restart Photoshop, and then try again.

  • Delete all groups and layers that are turned off, even if they are locked

    Hello

I need help with a script that will do the following:

Delete all groups (including the layers inside) and layers so they are not visible - with the following requirements

    a. even if the group or layer is locked

    (b) even if the layers within the group are locked

    c. same layers within the group are visible, although the parent group is off

Then... the required logic would be

Is it group or layer turns off? Yes, then delete all independently of any other thing, OTHERWISE move on to the next layer/group

Basically, I have a lot of groups and layers here and I want to analyze the layers to leave just the layers that are visible in the final document. Visible merge or flatten the will does not work as I want to keep visible and visible layers. Layers remove hidden does not work. And file/scripts/deleting empty layers does not work because the layers are not empty. They are simply not necessary.

    In collaboration with CS6.

  • How to avoid the transparent background, white in smart object (psb) conversion when the image track high fidelity that we have the ability to ignore track of white up to 16 colors.

I have an image psd file in photoshop cc 2014 the layer background transparent. I wanted to convert to vector. The best option I've seen was converted first to a smart object in photoshop by layer-> Smart objects-> convert to smart object. then he exported a CPS. Then I opened the file in illustrator and applied image tracking tool, but the background transparent got converted to white but I had the option to skip white up to 16 trace of color. But in the case of Conversion of high fidelity, the option do not know white is not available, what do I do now?

After using the Trace of the Image and expand the result, just find a part that is filled with white and use Select > same > fill and just delete.

  • BUG: The layers that are disabled appear in published pages

Layers that have visibility turned off in the timeline always appear in the published page.

In addition, these layers were keyframes, which means they stayed on all the time once they have been instantiated.

Does NOT appear in the program, it appears in the publication. Drove me crazy, and should be considered a bug in the program, because the power off of visibility must be in the software and the published page.

    -Ian

    Hi, EGC -.

Well, it's the visibility on the scene, not the CSS visibility setting.  In order to define the CSS parameter, you must change the property in the properties panel.  This will place an alley in the panel mounting that says 'View' and will do what you want.

    Hope that helps,

  • Smart objects - copy without referencing the Original SO?

    A question from me

If I copy a raster layer several times for an animation to image, then it makes sense to do than the smart object layer.  What I do, but I'm missing something.  For example, there is a video going around on photo blogs today, a lady in charge by an elk, but missed the guy with the iPhone, so I quickly put together.

    Elk-Lady.gif

The video has been radically challenged in the Department of pixel, so I made the Lady layer one OC and formulated a number of copies.  Same thing with the Elk (from a different source), where I used Puppet Warp to simulate a bucking motion.  In both cases, Free transforming the PW YES, or using copied, caused the original SO layer to reflect the changes.  Not good at all. And it's something that's happened to me before.

Then a little later, Google I found this old threadand tried his advice to slide SO the layer to the new icon of layer instead of using Ctrl j.  But that's where it weird, because now I could use Ctrl j and PW as before and modify a copied SO layer without affecting the original.

Someone has a good understanding of why my SOs don't always work in the same way for me?  I guess I should man to the top and RTFM, but I was using what I thought exactly the same workflow in different documents and get different behavior.

Working with smart objects in Photoshop

I don't see this problem in PS CC 2015 (Mac) with copy/duplicate methods. Are you sure that you not open the parent (SO) and the transformation (Puppet Warp or free transform) running on the child (content)?

Application of puppets Warp to a smart object layer apply PW as a dynamic filter that is only attached to this layer (you will see in the layers), and if none of the other layers will be affected by PW. But if you run PW on duplicate content, clicking on a smart object to see the child record, then all layers will be affected.

Looks like you know what you're doing, but the PW behavior as a dynamic filter is specifically designed for the layer that the smart filter is applied.

  • Objects vector smart object - file format

What is the best file format to save a photoshop file that has a number of vector smart objects that will eventually print? File can be placed in illustrator or indesign prior to be expelled to the printer either as direct files or on the PDF.

Danny is correct: smart objects are STILL pixelated in resolution of the PSD, regardless of the format that you save it in.

If you want to print any dynamic objects with imported objects vector (illustrator?) to setter image max resolution, you must extract these objects in the PSD file and rebuild the design in Illustrator or InDesign.

It means that the smart object in question, which opens in Illustrator, and then save the file as a file HAVE editing. Remove the smart object in the PSD in Photoshop, then save a new version. Note the exact dimensions and positions. Open the file in InDesign and rebuild the original.

If the layer effects have been applied in Photoshop to a matter SO vector: no chance. You will need to generate layers separated in the best of cases, or begin to recreate the effects in Illustrator in the worst case scenario. Or a combination of both.

Vector shapes and the Type that were generated in Photoshop with effects applied to him may be problematic if the resolution of the PSD is insufficient. However, the outline remains vector while recording in Photoshop PDF format. Import the PDF into InDesign retains the sharp vector contour. Just make sure that the native resolution of the Photoshop document is high enough to produce a strong impression for effects (which will be pixels).

The problem is that a lot of designers decided to convert their photoshop vector shapes and text in smart objects - and this will rasterize the result, no matter what. And there is no easy way to "unsmart" a dynamic object.

A method (far from perfect) is:

    • Double-click the smart object to open it in a new window
    • Select all the layers in the .psb (dynamic object) that opens
    • Choose Layer > Group the menu
    • Hold down the SHIFT key and drag the window of smart objects to your original document with the move tool window.
    • Drag the icon fx the dynamic object for the new group of layers layer you just drag over
    • Remove the smart object layer.

The only caveats to this method are scale and positioning. You may have to reposition some groups according to their interaction with the edges of the original document. And if you scale the smart object layer, you may need to scale of the group as well.

Here is a script that automates some of this: http://blog.kam88.com/en/expanding-smart-objects-script.html

This will ONLY work with SOs that were created in Photoshop.

Dynamic objects are bothersome creatures indeed. Much too easy for designers unknowing to destroy the intent of vectors and difficult and potentially very tedious to undo in a news environment.

The problem is that a lot of users tend to abuse of Photoshop as a request to print 'all-in-one' layout

  • Fixing local axis in transformation Mode (non-Smart object)

    Hi guys,.

I was wondering if there is a way to track the axis of rotation of the object something like the difference between Local and Global of the axes in 3d programs.

I don't know if I started the transformation as a Smart Objects and keep it in a smart object, he remembers. Y at - it no alternative workaround for an non-smart object to keep this information?

Just try my luck here. Thank you

There is a big difference between a smart object layer and a frame later. If a dynamic object layer seems to behave as a raster operation layer is very different.  Pixels rendered by do not change, they are only acted on the Photo. Everything is recorded for the layer, each layer to smart object has an associated transform.  If you turn the layer actually set again you the recorded turn your not done not a new.  If you transform a layer rasterizes you wind from another layer, Pixels may have been deleted or added that you don't have access to the old data except in Photoshop specific story until it is deleted.  Dynamic object data are protected and survive even save in a layered document.
