I need to convert the characters of type to layers, suggestions, while retaining the position of characters of type in place. Unfortunately there is no action or script that I am aware of do?

    After cropping of a photo with Photoshop I discovered that I was unable to rename.  I soon found out that the same thing is true when I tried to rename main folders in My Documents.  I am able to insert the cursor, but it does not respond when I type characters, or even when I hit him back out.  Know a simple fix?

    Name change is a directory operation.  It would seem that you have read and write access to your directories, but you do not change access.  This highlights a problem with file permissions.  How is 'Simple' the fix depends on which version of Windows you have to a certain extent.

    Windows XP Pro (with "Simple file sharing" turned off) using the security"" tab. When you right-click on a file or a folder and select 'Properties', then click on the 'Security' tab to view and change the permissions.

      <>http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/307874 >

    Windows XP Home Edition is a bit more complicated.  You can start safe mode and log in as administrator for the 'Security' tab as above, or you can open a command prompt window (start-> Run-> "cmd") and allows you to display the 'cacls' command or change the permissions of files and folders.  You should check that your username has permission to ull 'F' for your records.  Not pretty, but it works.

  • Characters do not... type characters!

    Hello

    I have Photoshop CS and when I try to use the text tool, it does not print on the characters but straight lines. So if I type A, it is reproduced on the screen as - and if I type B is reproduced as - and so on. I don't know why it happened.

    Any advice, please, on how I can see the characters?

    Thank you.

    Steve

    Try to reset your preferences, as described in the FAQ.

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/375776?TSTART=0

    You must physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if you use the Alt, Ctrl, and shift, don't forget you get a confirmation dialog box.  This resets all settings in Photoshop default.

    A complete uninstall/reinstall will not affect preferences and a corrupted file may be the cause of the problem.

  • How can I get my windows palette back in Illustrator CC2014?

    I usually work out of the 'Essentials' range, but today, I noticed all my palette windows have disappeared, and I can't understand how to get back them. Without layers, Type, characters, shades - etc. On the other hand I have the toolbar. I think I can inadvertently hit a shortcut key which temporarily overshadowed their.

    I noticed that the windows of the palette are there if I'm in the paint, printing and primer, tracing, typography and Web. But not available for Essentials or layout - until I did a reset in layout and then they came back. I did a reset on the essentials without a bit of luck.

    Working in paint or any other format for now.

    Thank you.

    Sandra

    AHA! I managed to retrieve the pallets in Essentials! Under the 'window', I get 'Framework of Application' on. I had 'Bar of Application', with enforcement framework uncontrolled. Perhaps this is something that is normally supposed to be on, but I had somehow not checked it.

    In any case, it works again. Thanks to all who weighed.

  • When I type some characters often do not appear but if I wait for awhile and tap them again once they appear.

    This happens in all programs that I can type, (e-mail, WP). Sometimes I can type the characters if I come back, space or both using the arrow key and then forward and try again.

    Laura V:

    Thanks for your help. It was a very frustrating experience, not being is not in a position to have all the I type characters appear. I did a full scan and who was clean. I was not able to boot mode safe then I deleted all the programs that I installed for several months, but the problem of many characters not appearing not when I typed persistent. I was about to bite the bullet and to restore an image of my C drive from a hard drive external when I decided, just for completeness, to test the keyboard. I unplugged my wireless Logitech keyboard and plugged an old keyboard. Eureka! Typing all appeared OK. What a relief. I think that the rf in my wireless keyboard transmitter was at fault and that it was not send all the characters I typed. I should have checked the keyboard first, but it was only 3.5 years old and I couldn't believe that it went wrong so little time. All's well that ends well. Thanks again.

  • How to detect them offending characters in text

    I build based on the text code in DW who goes into a database, then is passed to an application. Just the HTMKL/CSS usual stuff, formatting of text, in large volume. Almost all of this formatted text is imported other documents, if characteristics and measures of fonts are varied. I had problems with the app crashing during a test, find the problem to be incriminated type characters: quotation marks single or double, the special guide lines (these multiple times used to indicate a sentence of hanging, as :...) and other oddities.) We have all had the experience of having find and replace characters such as this one, but I'm asking, is there a way in DreamWeaver to flush out these types of characters before having to track them, by process of elimination, one by one. I'll have to remove small sections of text, test the application, delete an other, test the application, until I have to isolate the offending character, then remove them all from the file.

    Is there an easier way to do it?

    Thank you.

    Cayce

    There are probably many ways to deal with it. If you use PHP, you can use mysql_real_escape_string, htmlentities() or htmlspecialchars() to convert characters in a format which should be safe for the database. It works like this:

    $text = mysql_real_escape_string ($text);

    A better way is to use PDO with parameters as your MySQL database connection method. Since I use this method, I never need to use other methods to do this (even if I use remediation methods, like checking strip_tags and datatype).

  • Why Firefox is running very slowly after the last update (refresh doesn't, no problem using Google)?

    Type characters appears seconds later (for example to provide these details). Web sites load slowly.

    key and then from Firefox. Is always the problem?

  • Add the new entry name of folder of bookmarks does not

    (There's a reason I'm fool the previous thread on this subject, as well as my response to this: I couldn't find a way to add FireFox 10.0.2 to the tags of the thread.) If the thread tags may be edited/added, I wouldn't highlight problems with FireFox 10.0.2 by launching this new thread.)
    RE add new bookmarks folder, can not enter the name of the new folder:

    I am now having this problem with FireFox 10.0.2, 11/03/2012

    When I click on add a folder, a new folder appears in the tree view and the folder name field is highlighted for the entry. But when I start to type characters in the field, I can only type 1 or 2 characters at the most seized stops accept input. I then go to the bookmarks menu, locate the new folder, right-click it, click Properties and complete the registration of the name of the folder.

    At worst, the folder name field will cease to accept entry as soon as I type the first tank, in which case the name of the folder will remain as "new folder." I find the new folder in the bookmarks menu to change the name, as described above.

    It is very annoying because it adds a number of additional steps just to add a new folder in the bookmarks menu. Add the new folder through the "Show all bookmarks" and navigate through the folder hierarchy are an alternative workaround, but that records all the steps.

    Any ideas or solutions?

    Hi John99,
    It has worked well in Mode without failure. Thanks for the suggestion!

    I'm going offline a bit to understand what add-on, plugin, etc., could be causing it. In the meantime, I have marked your suggestion to use Mode safe as useful so that anyone else coming here could get the clue.

    I should probably drop another line in the thread for the guy who in (or has been) using FireFox 7...

    I'll post my results if I can understand it.

    UPDATE:

    I went after any add-on which had nothing to do with bookmarks.

    It was the first add-on I tried, SortPlaces 1.9.1 that automatically sorts bookmarks in various ways according to the parameters. When I disabled it, the problem disappeared.

    I re-enabled it and checked the options to see if I could understand why she was stop to add the new folder. In the 'Options' tab, there is a time limit for how long interval SortPlaces will wait before you sort a bookmark changed or added. It was set to 3 seconds.

    It is not long enough for old men by typing the new name of folder. I put it in 10 seconds. Then, I created a new folder of bookmarks and start typing a name long nonsense, while I looked at the clock. After that 10 seconds it stopped accepting the entrance, right on the mark. What this hidden for me earlier, it was that when he stops to accept input, you don't see the new folder to place in the position of sorting on the menu add a folder. You will see that if you expand the folder later. It's probably why I didn't connect the two.

    Anyway, problem solved. I'm leaving the delay to 10 seconds. If I ever need to be longer, I'll just increase it.

    Thanks again for the suggestion of Mode safe and enjoy the next season of mud.

    Hi Michal

    Your device is a new and without number of tests I would contact the Service partner. The guarantee is valid and verify your device by a technician. The only thing you can do is to reinstall the laptop with recovery CD because in this way, you can be sure if there is a hardware malfunction. If everything works well after that relocation is in this case certain specific problems that occur after the use of some individual software or something else.

  • Tecra PTA40E keyboard problem

    Hello world

    I have a problem with my computer laptop tecra PTA40E. When I select an icon on my desktop, all the icons are selected and sometimes when I type the keyboard did not respond as I want.

    For example when I push the 'SHIFT' key I have a few strenge characters appear. Sometimes, when I type characters do not appear I press the 'alt' button and after the characters appear again. It is really strange.

    Someone has an idea?

    Thanks for your help.

    I agree with Robin. The keyboard needs to be replaced to get rid of this fault.

  • TCP communication with barcode reader Keyence SR-1000 series

    So I have a client who needs help to connect the code reader barcode Keyence SR-1000 using TCP/IP to a LabVIEW application. After researching 'Connection 'document' of Keyence for TCP, I realize that it is based on their utility software alone.

    As I have no experience with barcode readers, I'd appreciate any advice on what to look for and how to implement a 'driver'-based on the VISA for this device. Or, in general, how are the best scanners of bar codes connected to LabVIEW.

    Thank you

    You must contact the manufacturer of the barcode reader and ask for documentation on TCP communication. Otherwise, the best you could do is to use a tool like WireShark to 'sniff' the TCP data and try to understand what the scanner data is read/write at their own software and try to reproduce it.

    There are many manufacturers/types of barcode scanners - some have their own drivers (DLL, for example) you can call, some use Ethernet/RS-232, some simply to emulate a keyboard and "type" characters of the barcode.

  • LETTER PROBLEM

    When I'm in the wordpad my j, k, l are all numbers how do this off
    COULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME.

    Hi flores56,

    (a) since when are you facing this problem? Have you you can all changes to the computer before it happened?

    (b) this only happens with WordPad?

    (c) what type of keyboard you use?  Who is the manufacture of the computer?

    You can try things:

    O examine your keyboard for any accumulation of dust, dirt, liquids or other particles that could be causing the keys to type characters.

    O clear the function key (FN) on the keyboard, make sure that the function key led turns off.

    O check if your number lock (NumLock) key is enabled. If so, the key to disengage.

    Ø confirmation that your keyboard is set to the language English.

    1. open regional and Language Options by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking clock, language, and region, and then clicking regional and Language Options.

    2. click on the keyboards and languages tab and then click on change keyboards.

    Make sure that the keyboard is set to the English language.

    O connect the keyboard to a different computer. If the keyboard works correctly on another computer, the port to which the keyboard was connected on the original computer may be damaged. If this is the case, contact your computer manufacturer to find out how to repair or replace the damaged port.

    Ø If the keyboard does not work on another computer, the keyboard may be damaged. If this is the case, and the warranty on the keyboard is still valid, you can exchange the defective keyboard for a new keyboard.

    Hi Ruby94947,

    Things you want to try:

    O examine your keyboard for any accumulation of dust, dirt, liquids or other particles that could be causing the keys to type characters.

    Ø Disengagethe (FN) key on the keyboard, make sure that the led of the button turns off.

    O check if your number lock (NumLock) key is enabled. If so, the key to disengage.

  • Empty MESSAGE body using OutputStream.write

    Hello

    I have problems with the write method of OutputStream. Specifically, the MESSAGE body is empty, even if I specify data in the write() method. An HTTP request is made, I see it in the server logs and I get a return status of 200 OK, but data is sent just never. Any ideas?

    Here is the code in question: (I'm overrideing the variable inputFromUser for testing purposes)

    public boolean fetch(String inputFromUser) throws IOException {
            System.out.println("Fetch called with input " + inputFromUser);
            boolean contentAvailable = false;

            HttpConnection httpConn = null;

            inputFromUser = "name=javabb";

            httpConn = (HttpConnection)Connector.open(TEST_URL+get_connection_directive(), Connector.READ_WRITE);
            httpConn.setRequestMethod(HttpConnection.POST);
            httpConn.setRequestProperty("Accept", "*/*");
            httpConn.setRequestProperty("Accept-Encoding", "gzip, deflate, compress");
            httpConn.setRequestProperty("Content-Length", Integer.toString(inputFromUser.length()));
            httpConn.setRequestProperty("Content-Type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded");

            OutputStream output = null;

            output = httpConn.openOutputStream();

            output.write(inputFromUser.getBytes());
            output.flush();

            // Getting the response code will open the connection,
            // send the request, and read the HTTP response headers.
            // The headers are stored until requested.
            int status = 0;

            status = httpConn.getResponseCode();

            if (status == HttpConnection.HTTP_OK)
            {

                input = httpConn.openInputStream();

                if(httpConn.getEncoding().toLowerCase().equals("gzip")) {
                    input = new GZIPInputStream(input);
                }

                // Check to see if there's content

                int contentLength = (int) httpConn.getLength();

                byte[] bytes = null;

                bytes = IOUtilities.streamToBytes(input);

                StringBuffer raw = new StringBuffer(new String(bytes, "UTF-8"));

                if ( contentLength > 0 )
                {
                    setContent(raw.toString());

                    contentAvailable =  true;

                    System.out.println("Response: " + raw.toString());

                }
                else {
                    System.out.println("Content-length < 1");
                }

                input.close();

            }
            else
            {
                setStatus(status);
                System.out.println("HTTP Status of: " + status);
                contentAvailable = false;
            }

            httpConn.close();

            return contentAvailable;

        }

    You do not close the output stream.  I suspect that might have something to do with the problem.

    Also there are a few changes that I would say that may contribute to your problem.

    (1) you say:

    httpConn.setRequestProperty ("Content-Length", Integer.toString (inputFromUser.length ()));

    inputFromUser is now a string.  Its length is not necessairly the same as the number of bytes that you get when you convert it to bytes.  Then you really should convert it to bytes and then find the length.

    (2) copy the following code:

    inputFromUser.getBytes)

    Converts the string using the default value of the ISO8859-1 BlackBerry (could remembered that bad).  This will convert most of the Latin type characters, but does not work for special characters, and other languages.  You must choose a code that matches what the server expects, which is usually UTF - 8.

    With those two changes, your code might look like:

    Byte [] postBytes = null;

    try {}

    postBytes = inputFromUser.getBytes("UTF-8");

    } catch (Exception e) {}

    cannot be done with UTF - 8

    }

    httpConn.setRequestProperty ("Content-Length", Integer.toString (postBytes.length));

    and then, later

    output. Write (postBytes);

    Let us know if these three changes (close, UTF - 8 and setting the length correctly) solve your problem.
