  Know the cause of the problem. Seems that using FTP is the question - there is latency in the FTP server where it does not recognize the LCK file as being deleted for a few moments. Noticed the same problem directly connected to the FTP server when I copied a file in a different directory, delete the original, then tried putting the file in the same directory. Received a message "overwrite this file", even though he had disappeared.

  No problem at all when you use Contribute with Local network as a communication option.

• Hide. LCK files

  For some reason any Dreamweaver CS5 not hiding the _notes folders or. LCK files. I freshly reinstalled and updated, but the problem persists. The documentation says these files should not be visible, but they are here.

  A few??? "s on the .lck files, I know not their goal, but it is EXTREMELY annoying that dreamweaver will download a file on the server .lck but NOT remove it when the file is checked in. I can deal with the locked files, but I hate having to manually delete the .lck to my server.

  I have a colleague working on a site that can see the _mm and .lck files folder in the files Panel. AFAIK, this should never happen? She has other problems that seem unrelated, but how and why these files / folders display? I work on exactly the same site and do not have these in my files Panel. I hope that if there is a resolution to the visible thing 'hidden' files, which could make other problems go away too...

  I had this same problem and found the solution today.

  In the files Panel, click the "expand button to view local and remote sites. Then click on show-> show hidden files and uncheck the box. Local. LCK, _MM and other files that should be hidden is no longer displayed.

  Now if I could only to prevent synchronization from the server _vti folders down to my machine...

  People, I had problems files lck for the last 4 years, I have used Contribute... I am here at least 5 times over the years, and I also called and spoke with Adobe Support about 5 times... and I have found no solution.

  I'm having a huge problem with. LCK files. I thought that these could only be generated in Contribute, but suddenly several in my Dreamweaver site directories are created, and I'm completely unable to remove them, or update the ages corresponding .cfm. I tried to delete the server directly without any effect. Whenever I try to upload the changes to a page, it creates it. LCK file and none of the changes are saved - on the server OR in Dreamweaver!   Trying to open a file with 3 Expressions .dwt and a lck record prevents my opening. TPL. tried to delete the file lck and messages said I must have administrator access. I signed as editable.   Maybe another time, such as Open. The Solaris system that I use does not have a manual page for the various orders of date and time and does not respond to standard options, so I was not able to decode it. Readable date and 14... are the actual instance. If they match, it is the date of writing. If the 14... stamp is earlier by minutes, it is open.

  A few days ago that I needed to remove some snpshots but 5 GB of free space on the disk was not enough, then the error message "cannot delete the snapshot" popped up, the snapshot in the Snapshot Manager had disappeared, but the files were still there. I created a new capture instant, deleted and all files have been grouped for my snapshot folder was returned to 0bytes, everything is beautiful.

  After continuing to work with my vm I created ss, deleted ss without error msg, but now there are files left in my folder of snapshots again without a corresponding section in the Snapshot Manager (VM 50 GB, Snapshots 7 GB).

  In addition, I am not able compact virtual disks (my virtual machine contains two system + data): when clicking on compact, the error "the system cannot find the specified file" occurs. File log says VMw seeks a vmdk in the root folder, but the file is located in the snapshot folder now.

  Creates a full clone of the files with correct sizes, 50 GB VM, instant 0GO, but I can not and do not want to create a clone every time I need to save space on my SSD.

  When cloning you will have only the different UUID and a different MAC address. The operating system did not get changed.

  With regard to the consolidation of assistance. To see (and delete) the snapshot in the Manager of snapshots, remove the line snapshot0.clientFlags = "1" of the vmsd file while the virtual machine is not open in the tabs of VMware Workstation (no file lck in the folder).

  I guess that you have a current backup of the files, just in case something goes wrong (which really shouldn't).

  I found a directory with a name consisting of 24 hexadecimal characters that contains what looks like .cab for sp1 files in the root directory of the c: drive.
