LCM migration options

Hi all.

version - Hyperion planning 11.1.2.2 worm

We need to migrate the feeder calc of prod rules to test using LCM

on the import mode options HSS, we have the following:

create/update

create

Update

When I use the update, I noticed, it adds rules that were missing have been added

and existing have been updated.

If so what is the difference between 'create' and 'update '?

Thank you!

Shared Services options do not apply to the calculation of the Manager, changing the Shared Services, those will make no difference.

When you use LCM with Calc Manager, it will always add new rules and update any existing ones.

See you soon

    Hello

As we migrate (migration cold) a virtual computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, we found the migrate option is disabled. • Can LCM migrate the contents of the data of the FDMEE established between environments?

In the version on FDMEE site, I have a question about the capacities of migration of LCM.

For example, say I had a year of historical data I wanted to import. I saw this in FDMEE in Test, am now satisfied results in Essbase. I now want to spend both Essbase and the FDMEE data (to preserve the capacity of drilling) staged production. (By data staged, I mean the ) records that are visible in the screen of Workbench of FDMEE).

LCM does support it, or support only migrate the objects? I guess that if all the objects, I would need to reload all the data in FDMEE in Prod, in turn, re - push all data into Essbase in Prod?

    Hope my question is simple,

    Thank you

LCM does not migrate the data FDMEE in the current version.

Is your fresh production environment env, so you did not work with FDMEE?

You have to build your own migration to move data using SQL. Another option would be to re - load all data. That would ensure that all of your internal identifiers conform.

  • Codec migration option multi-site since VCSC to CUCM system key

I have some general questions about this scenario

If a Codec has multi-site option key and entered a VCSC and is migrated to a CUCM system saved:

A.) multi-site option button will still be available for use on the Codec?

    (B) can plan for TMS to it, and no need of a conductor based GST to serve the meeting?

You don't mention what version of endpoint and software, however, the endpoint can use the Multisite option even after it has migrated to CUCM, see sx20-cucm for reference.

Endpoint can also be using TMS planning conferences that are hosted on microcontroller embedded in endpoint as long that you have added in TMS, please refer to Guides Admin TMS on how to add endpoints CUCM managed in TMS.

    Hello

I am using Hyperion Essbase & planning version 11.1.1.3 applications. I exported QA dataforms and tried to import in the Prod environment, using LCM. But the dataforms do not migrate due to the long name of the dataforms.

  • LCM - migration of form

    Hello

We will migrate to 11.1.2.2 and face certain difficulties migration form Bowl LCM.

Time of the first import of a Forms folder in the application went well.
The second time, we have added several files form .xml in the system files in the same folder (and the file listing). HSS 'sees' those files, we execute the migration of the planning application which goes without error, but there is no change in the application.

Then I deleted the forms and the application folder (the folder deletion is a story of its own) and having curves. The result is - the folder is recreated and the imported forms - but only those initially imported.

Anyone had similar problems, we missing something or is - this planning another "problem"?

    Thank you!

If you try to hack the LCM :)

It works fine on 11.1.2.2 (do not know what version)

I took a copy of the file of the Rate.xml tax and created a new tax rate New.xml (changed the xml code to reflect the new name of form)

Added that one in the file listing.xml

Import back to planning and it works. What are these xml files which fell into the directory of the file? They are born on the same version? Is there a form with the same name?

  • 11.1.1.2 to 11.1.2 DRM Migration Options and possibilities

    Hi all.

seeing as DRM 11.1.1.x happens at the end of the cycle in July this year wee must examine the possibility to 11.1.2.

In this context we are 11.1.1.x on SQLserver2000, but we must align with our policy of general infrastructure deployment and use our Oracle RAC for the back-end DRM database.

I have been Googling but found preciously little on DRM for migration from one version to another.

If anyone has experience with this I would appreciate any pointers to documentation, or tips and tricks that might be useful in the definition of this migration.

Currently our imports, exports and validations defined DRM and in addition we use the API in bespoke solutions to power a Datagrid in consistency on the fly.

I am mainly looking for my imports, exports and val/audits across safely.

You should be able to use the console to perform the migration. At the bottom of the "configuration"tab there is an option that says "Repository Wizard". It will guide you through all the steps where you can specify directories source and target for automatic migration of the entire application (all the metadata as the export users, property definitions, validations, etc and all of the data).

The most important thing to move towards 11.1.2 is the deployment of Web services on the server weblogic with the services of the Foundation. It creates more of the administrative burden and the need to have technology skills on the team to support.

    All the best!

  • LCM Migration error

    Hi all

We are facing a serious problem of migration using LCM. We have made some changes in the Production and wanted to return to development. (It works be it here). I tried using LCM using shared workspace services and executed migration. I copied this particular file each for shared services and planning app in the folder Import & Export the target environment and run migration again.
This resulted in it with some mistakes to learn calc scripts scripts and report dint migrate with errror blah blah.
When I opened the web Planning, I see new forms in the list of forms. but when I click on open, it says 'error occurred '.
Its the same thing when I opened the dimensions and everything.
and to my heart attack, I could not even open the AppWizard Wizard by web, it even says 'error occurred '. What is now that I can do to achieve this?
All my plans corrupt db? I thought that I could at least get the app by using app Wizard by pointing out to the new DB. given my AppWizard went, what can I do now?

    Please suggest.

I guess that you have restarted the service application web planning.
If it's good for the dev to be a mirror of prod, it would be less painful to try to restore the relational db for dev.

  • Migration options?

Looking for input on migration. Moving from a 2008 Macbook Pro on Snow Leopard (10.6.8) to a 2015 on El Capitan (10.11.2). Will connect firewire 400 of old computer through a firewire 400/800 adapter to firewire/thunderbolt adapter on new computer. (Don't have good WIFI access.) Don't even know for sure what software will work but want to at least try what I have before I buy updates. Wondering if software (MS & Adobe) would migrate more successfully directly from the old computer or through Time Machine backup. Would like to avoid the re-authentication process if possible. (I figure my user files should be OK either way.) Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.

I guess you use migration assistant. If the 2008 computer works well, and then transfer that would be nice. But you can do research on all of the programs that you want to transfer, as without updating them, they may not work in the new operating system.  In the migration wizard, you can at one point, pick and choose what to transfer. Images, music and movies would not be a problem.

  • Options for the migration of 9.3 per 11.1.2.1 planning applications?

It seems that LCM is BI migration option + artifacts from 9.3 to 11, but I don't see any application planning in favor in LCM 9.3 - How did people approached application migration Planning from 9.3 to 11, in particular patterns of RDBMS?

Usually, import us the existing schema and then create app and a new data source.
Can migrate some app on planning for first time connection.
That notice, it would be better if app owner of the existing schema is default admin app.
After the migration if you cannot open an app session using default admin, try using updateuser.cmd to the Planning\bin directory.

  • Migration to Exadata at non-exadata system option

What are the migration options to move a database out of box exadata? Here's the situation.

Instance RAC node source DB - 2 (11g) running on Exadata

Target instance DB - 2 node RAC (11g) on Linux + ASM storage

    1. If I do a simple RMAN backup restore then ideally it should work because from the point of view of DB, it is all the same. Question - iswhat is happening at the tables of the OHCC? will they both as - is, and then I need to decompress and make them usable?

    2. what import-using data pump export? How it works with no EHCC on target?

3 what user depending on backup restores? (backup to warm cold/backup)

    4. can I use transportable tablespace for cases where the endians are different? or transportable database when the endians are the same?

I don't understand this data Guard configuration could be one of the option as exadata supports have DR running on environmental non-exadata but DataGuard cannot be a good option for each unique data base.

I called "considerations to instantiate or duplicating a database on Exadata (Doc ID 1206603.1)", for what it looks like to-we use double RMAN as well.

    Thank you

    Aerts

    Hi AEK.

Thanks for the details on your environment - it's much more useful than a single sentence 'How to migrate my Exadata' type question.  To answer your specific questions

    1. If I do a simple RMAN backup restore then ideally it should work because from the point of view of DB, it is all the same. Question is - what happens to the tables of the OHCC? will they both as - is, and then I need to decompress and make them usable?

Exactly: you must do an ALTER TABLE MOVE to read materials after the migration of tables

    2. what import-using data pump export? How it works with no EHCC on target?

I have not tested it myself, but I would expect the initial table creation to fail because of the clause 'COMPRESS for', but you could previously create the table without compression HCC or potentially even a transformation in the data pump configuration.

3 what user depending on backup restores? (backup to warm cold/backup)

Even with regard to the RMAN: you get an HCC-compressed object, you can read without a TABLE ALTER MOVE.

    4. can I use transportable tablespace for cases where the endians are different? or transportable database when the endians are the same?

Yes you can use the endians, transportable tablespaces across but it requires a process of file conversion, and it's quite tedious.  This conversion is not required when the endians are the same.  And if conversion to Exadta Linux to Linux x 86 no-Exadata, you should not need to convert.

    5. I referred to as "Considerations to instantiate or duplicating a database on Exadata (Doc ID 1206603.1)", that it seems like--we can use RMAN copies as well.

Well Yes, duplicate RMAN should you get the same results as if you were doing a separate backup and restore, wihtout should save the backup somewhere.

And finally, if you need compression you get with HCC, you can consider buying storage Oracle ZFS or plunder, which includes the support of the Supreme Constitutional Court without Exadata.

    HTH!

  • Migration planning of LCM

I wonder what kind of LCM migration times people know about 11.1.2.1 for planning applications. I have one who is running for 20 minutes now and I wonder if it is blocked or if for some reason any planning takes a lot of time longer than Essbase.

Personally, I was still running a refreshment after the migration.
