A series of warning flashed ("effigy a shield with 4 - color") said Firefox has been diverted and infected by the virus and has 14 (?) Trojan and can not be erased until I register ($59 paid) to activate «Win 7 anti-virus 2011» Repeat to try to close and re-boot did not problem disappear.
I paid $59 for 1 year at UltimateSpyware.com and it seems deleted everything which did not work - system "looks" OK but I don't see any signs for a program of that name.Yes, you have been scammed. No no never download or buy software, just because a Web site said. That Web sites are known to scam people and install viruses on your computer.

HP laptop: HP telephone scam? Regarding the laptop computer viruses
I just got a phone call from someone claiming to be with the HP support. On my phone caller ID showed as unknown caller. The man said that HP has determined that I got a virus in my laptop via social media.
Anyone got some these calls? I'm pretty sure it's a scam, but do not want to double check. I asked the man on the phone to give me a call back number in case we were cut off. The number he gave me was 888-883 - 6944.
Thank youHello there @paularose,
It has come to our attention that the person who contacted you is not with a valid HP company we know, nor the 888 number is affiliated with what be HP. Please, don't try to contact the number or give the appellant any information regarding your personal or your products. HP is aware of these false figures and it is not recommended to give them all the information.
We apologize that you are getting these calls.
Thank you

False alarm critical of Apple - scam or virus?
A couple of days, while browsingthem web (English version of the German company important and trustworthy), I received a popup alert indicating «Safari alert, your iPad is locked for your protection on 0808 148 3688 Apple support call»
I had my son get number of Apple on his mobile and realized, he had nothing to do with the above number. As the IPad has been frozen, I made a forced following the stop which made a soft reset not reset the Wi - Fi connection but do not wipe all personal data and after that pop up to disappeared. My camera is a non supported Gen. 1 iPad iOS 5.1.1. My question is how can I tell if my iPad has a virus or is it safe to use? Also, I guess due to being not supported its my Apple call pointless? All advice appreciated - other that tell me to buy an IPad update that unfortunately I can't afford (that's a first use since the problem occurred)
This popup will always be a scam. See below.

Just got a "virus alert" message supposedly from Messenger. Is this real or a scam?
He asked for stuff of profile with password, etc. I don't believe that.
Hello
· What operating system do you use?
· What Messenger do you use?
· What anti-virus program do you use?
· Did you get this message from the Messenger or while you were on the internet?
· If so, which Web site and what web browser do you use?
This is a scam, if you asked to password or any other personal information, I suggest you ignore.
In the meantime, I suggest you to download and run the latest Microsoft security on your computer Scanner and check:
http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: the data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.
