  • The British version of the DM1 comes with Windows 7 32 bit rather than 64-bit according to the United States

I just bought a HP DM1-3100SA and noticed that it came bundled with Windows 7 32 - Bit Home Pro instead of 64-bit according to the American version (DM1Z?). As far as I can see, the hardware is identical - AMD Fusion E-350, 3 GB, 320 GB drive at 7200 RPM so I see no reason for HP to opt for the operating system 32-bit to the United Kingdom as the E-350 is a 64-bit APU.

Is it possible to re - install W7 64-bit of the recovery partition or am I stuck with W7 32-bit?

I guess that there is the option to purchase the retail copy of W7 64 Home Pro, but seems an unnecessary extra cost.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

If it is still topical for you:

the ISO in Windows7 files can be downloaded from Digital River (the Microsoft online provider - see links below).

These images are free of viruses and completelyLEGA

Of course you must have/buy a valid license, but the laptop key dm1, we can re - use the key provided for Windows7 32 bit.

Watch you if you clean install Windows7 you won't not the HP tools... the question is if you really need them. But it is STRONGLY recommended to re - install HP Coolsense since it regulates the temperature/fan.

  • Satellite A200-1d(a): various problems with Windows Vista Mail

    Model: Satellite A200-1d(a)
O/s: Windows Vista editions Home Premium more
Background: Recommended for a parent, now transformed into 'support harassment ".

The behavior of Windows Mail is displayed is non-standard and unreliable, for example:

Creating new folders local they are initially displayed in the list of folders (left sidebar), if the mail is restarted they disappear and reappear only if they are selected after clicking on "local folders". Other than the Inbox, local folders and the Microsoft? (used for notes, etc.), all the other default folders are missing, either sent, sent, drafts box, etc.

Another minor issue is that windows mail does not seem to recognize when the status of the internet connection changes from unavailable to available, in order to empty the Outbox and send emails, it is necessary to restart windows Messaging.

A number of occasions, all messages disappear from your Inbox and all other folders are not available, the only solution to this problem seems to be a reboot of the laptop.

This link seems to suggest that there is a problem with the security software which is now Norton Internet Security (configured and bundled with the laptop):
    http://forums.techguy.org/all-other-software/551829-Windows-Mail-doesn ' t-display - messages.html

I tried to disable email inbound/outbound scanning in Norton, but it made no difference.
    Next step is to apply:

and then remove Norton Internet security

    Any ideas?

    Hello

I can't provide an exactly the solution to this problem of Vista Mail but to me, it looks like a Microsoft Vista operating system problem and not Toshiba Satellite.
I don t think there could be a problem with the hardware that's why we should look for solutions.

Now you will ask where a software solution? In my opinion, you should check the knowledge base Microsoft for some useful tips.

  • New computer with Windows 7, stuck on the specific update

    Hello world!
I have recently (last Saturday) purchased a new HP laptop with Windows 7 installed. The computer is now going through the standard (I guess they are standard) updates for Windows and successfully completed several rounds of them. Last night after having turned it off the computer began another series of updates, with 14 in the total bundle. She started 1 of 14 around 20:00 and started 4 of 14 at 22:30. From 08:30 the next morning, he was still on 4 of 14.
Is this an update that takes 12 hours to install, or is there another problem causing my computer to not to go beyond the update? I found no way to bypass the update or cancel it.

    Thank you!

Are you able to boot to the desktop now?

  • Patch authentication LEAP Cisco space required for Windows 7 64 bit Home Edition

    Hi all:

I tried both Vista Business 32-bit PC and Windows 7 Home edition 64 bit for Cisco LEAP Authentication. The result is that Vista Bz PC can have authentication option Cisco LEAP under wireless security option, Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit does not. After select, it works with the authentication LEAP of Cisco AP1041N.

May I know that Cisco can provide the patch driver file for authentication on Windows 7 64 bit home edition LEAP so that I can make authentication wireless on Cisco AP1041N?

Or any body knows a way to get this Windows 7 64 bit home edition to work with authentication with Cisco AP1041N LEAP?

Many thanks in advance and best regards,

    Tang,

It seems that you can not use jump unless u install intel proset "supplicant" that supports only the drivers intel.

    CHECH the link

    http://www.SevenForums.com/network-sharing/3084-security-wireless-Cisco-leap.html

So it seems that give u the option for Cisco leap in windows vista is a software provided by intel. Microsoft or Cisco.

If you have intel driver u better contact intel if you want jump built in. If not then I don't know if anything will make leap to work built into windows. You need a global independent "supplicant".

  • What comes with Windows 7?

I am considering a 230 laptop with Win 7 x. What browser and email software provided with Windows 7?

Also - does anyone know another software is bundled with the X 230?

    Thank you!

    LH

    I have a X 230 with Windows 8

If you get it with Windows 7, I expect:

    1. MUCH, MUCH less pain.

    2. Internet Explorer V9

3 authority 2013 which can be put in place as a trial or deleted.

4 Lenovo Software for Windows 7 including logins but don't no Windows 8 apps.

    5. Norton Internet Security. (I use Symantec Endpoint Protection).

If you get it, look through the programs and features for the things you don't need. For example, I dump Nitro because I use Adobe.

Generally, it should work perfectly, and most of the stuff of Lenovo's fine. 2013 office works OK, but if you have Office 2010 it is good too. Remove what you don't want is much faster that a clean installation of the so-called where you need to go and get all the drivers.

    Immediately run system update.

  • Corel Burn.Now - specifications? Comparison with Windows 7 built-in?

Has anyone used this tool which came bundled with my new Lenovo 530 and 64-bit Windows 7 Professional SP1?

I want to burn CDs and DVDs of data for offline storage and archiving.  I need to know the file system used by this software (e.g., level, Joliet, UDF, ISO 9660, Mode, etc.) and the format of disk (for example, Disk-at-Once, multi-session, disk not closed, etc.) in order to assess the compatibility with other readers and operating systems.  It is precious little specific information in the "Guide" supplied with the program.

The same questions apply to the built-in Windows 7 disc in format 'Mastered' burner - I would never use format "Live File System", whatever that is.
    -JCW2

    Hello

I don't think I ran the default provided app for CD/DVD burning, since Windows XP came out, but I think that Corel BurnNow SD 4.5 is based on ULead Burn. Now 4.5, I found the manual for at http://ftp.ulead.com/pub/Manual/dmf6/BurnNow_User_Manual_5.pdf.

If this is the right program, it resembles BurnNow takes care of ISO-9660 and UDF/ISO-9660, Mount Rainier, Joliet, UDF 1.5, 2.0, 2.01, 2.5 and 2.6 and Burning Disc-At-Once, incremental write, Session-At-Once and Track-At-Once.

Given that Corel BurnNow program is about four years old now (at least, this seems to be the date of the version I saw by downloading on the Lenovo support site), it might be better to look for a program more modern, updated frequently, like BurnAware, ImgBurn, CDBurnerXP, ISO Workshop, PowerISO, etc..

A very important thing to keep in mind is that some of the above programs may come with some kind of third-party app to 'sponsor' demand.  Be sure to review all programs during their installation for such things, because it is very easy to accidentally install unless you specifically 'opt out' of the installation of the app to sponsor.  In addition, some anti-malware programs can detect the app sponsor as potentially dangerous application, program or software (PUA/PUP/PUS).  It is normal (or at least expect), so, even once, make sure that you do not install one of these programs, unless you want to, for some reason any.

  • What is Safari works with Windows 10?

I have a new PC with Windwos 10 and you want to use Safari as my browser. Safari is compatible with Windows 10?

No!  Safari was not supported on any version of Windows for several years.  It would be quite precarious to use any version of Safari for Windows at this time.

In 2016, you have several browsers very modern and safe to choose Windows like Chrome, Firefox, and Edge (native browser of Windows 10).

Yes. We have many users with Windows 10.

  • 31.0 Thunderbird is compatible with Windows 10?

I have 10 Windows installed on my laptop. Thunderbird, I am told, is a great alternative to Microsoft Outlook [that is not free, as well as Thunderbird]. But before you install Thunderbird, I need to know if it is compatible with Windows 10. Is it?

I think that Windows Mail is the poorest excuse for a mail client. And I hope that I can use Thunderbird instead of Windows Mail or Microsoft Outlook.

    Thank you.

Even if Windows 10 is not explicitly mentioned in the notes as supported OS (again), 38 Thunderbird works well on Windows 10.
Note that the latest version of Thunderbird is 38.3.0.

  • My Yahoo Mail is "" forcing me to switch to Firefox by turning my functions in basic. Firefox is compatible with windows 7 for home and student?

Hi, I have a Yahoo Mail account for many years. Now, they have turned my account in base saying that my IE9 is no longer supported and they are "" forcing me to download Firefox otherwise I have to continue with basic messaging. Firefox is compatible with windows 7 for home and studens? If I download firefox it will affect all the files I have on my computer? Will this affect my windows mail? Thanks for a quick reply.

Firefox is compatible with windows 7 for home and studens?

As far as I know, Firefox runs on all variants of Windows 7. Firefox works better with a lot of memory, so if your system has 2 GB of memory, you may be limited in the number of windows and tabs you can open simultaneously before things get bogged down compared to a system that has 4 GB of memory.

If I download firefox it will affect all the files I have on my computer? Will this affect my windows mail?

As a web browser, you can configure Firefox to your default program to open web pages and links. If you do this, while some icons may change, for example, links to web pages can change to an icon of Firefox. In addition, Firefox has a built-in PDF reader, but you can still use Adobe Reader or another program to read PDF files if you want.

Are you using Windows Live Mail or another standalone program to retrieve messages? Firefox be involved with it because these programs to get the mail directly, not not using your browser. But if you make Firefox your default for links Manager, when you click on a link in the e-mail software, it will open in Firefox instead of Internet Explorer.

    Other things:

    (1) attention to the download links at random in search engine results. You can get Firefox here (scroll to your preferred language):

    https://www.Mozilla.org/Firefox/all/

    (2) I'm sure after Firefox is started the first time, you will have many questions. The program should give you a little tour of routine, and you can use our support articles for more information: https://support.mozilla.org/products/firefox

    (3) you must install IE11 because there are still a few sites that use patented technologies and are not displayed in Firefox, such as Windows update

Normally, when you try to connect safely, sites will present a reliable identification to prove that you're in the right place. However, the identity of this site cannot be verified.
    What should I do?

If you normally connect to this site without problems, this error can mean that someone is trying to impersonate the identity of the site, and you should not continue.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HST) to specify that Firefox didn't connect safely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.

If you do not need these parental control, you can disable this feature.

If you do not need parental control, you probably have to import a certificate so that Firefox will trust Microsoft's parental control. (I would need to look for the details in a current thread).
