  Fact: McAfee (and Norton) applications are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself. Evidence for many years of McAfee "leftovers" is the troublemaker more likely here.

  ACTIONS

  [You will see that there is quite a bit to do this, you may want to print these instructions for reference offline. Perform ALL steps below in a 1 meeting - allow a minimum of 1 hour.  Don't skip the steps!  [Note: If a step said to restart, restart! ]

  1. click right on the following link to download the McAfee Consumer products Removal tool, select SAVE as... & download the utility on your desktop: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

  2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

  3. After completing some you have a copy of your key of handy product, uninstall McAfee Total Protection via Start | Control Panel | Programs: Programs and features.

  4 IMPORTANT! -Online make sure that the Windows Firewall is activated immediately after the reboot!  (Should be done automatically, but I want you to check.)

  NB: Now you're "working without a net": do not to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation reading E-mail; cat) until you have finished step #7 below!

  5. double-click on the file that you saved in #1 above to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

  (6 do a clean install of McAfee Total Protection (using your product ID, if need be) & restart). If you purchased the software directly from McAfee, go to https://home.mcafee.com/Secure/Protected/Login.aspx to connect and download your software.

  Note: McAfee Total Security includes a firewall, Windows Firewall should be disabled now (that is, you shouldn't have too much active).

  7. on several occasions the McAfee application manually update until you get a "not more than updated" or similar prompt.

  8A. Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove programs. Set Program Access and Defaults: select (check) the CUSTOM [<>] configuration option, and then click the arrows pointing to the far-right | Browser: select "Internet Explorer" here (to not "use my current... »).

  8B. now check your settings here: IE tools | Internet Options | Programs | Default web browser: If the make default button is NOT dimmed, click/press it. [1]

  9. b double-click the file that you saved in # 9 above & accept invites him to MERGE with the registry data.

  -Online if an update of root certificates is listed under the category of updates software optional on the left side of the window of scan results, install it to enjoy greater security of IE8.

  -Online Tip: do NOT install any other updates software optional or any updated material in option .

  15 Reply to this post with a status report and (hopefully) confirm that KB2698365, KB2718523, KB2691442, KB2655992, KB2719985, KB2699988, KB2685939, KB2707511 & KB2718704 are all listed in Add/Remove Programs now.

• Extensions (CS4 and CS5) Manager shows an incorrect language

  What can I say? I discovered this problem to start the CS4 Master Suite but fumbled PixelBender installation in the dialog box and got to work. Now that I'm back with CS5, I still have the same problem. No language problem anywhere else, but in the extensions Manager. I use a Mac Pro, Snow Leopard and the CS5 Design Premium Suite. The incorrect language appears to be German, although I don't speak or write German, so I'm not sure. Screenshot below. Thank you!

  

  Did you do any change to the order of the language in preferences 'language & text "? If English is still the first language in the language list, it is really strange. The extension manager uses language OS if that language is supported at the autonomous launch. Please check you have the correct code page.

  The next solution is not the ideal solution, but it should work.
  1. go to the Extension Manager installation folder, right-click "Adobe Extension Manager CS5.app", select "view the contents of the package.
  2. Select 'content '->' MacOS '->' ZStringResources '.
  3. move da_DK.xml off "Adobe Extension Manager CS5.app" as a backup, rename en_US.xml to da_DK.xml.
  4. Select 'content '->' resources '.
  5. move the folder da.lproj on "Adobe Extension Manager CS5.app" as a backup, rename en.lproj in da.lproj.
  6. you may need to open the file to get the write privilege when you rename the file.

  OK, I fixed it. The question is this: my system language was German, but I had installed via vistalizator, English as a language explicit, not internal. A simple switch to German fixed the problem of the page layout. Thank you all for your time

• Firefox is default spell checker for an incorrect language when you restart.

  I use Firefox 30.0, the most recent version available for Ubuntu Linux 13.10.

  For some reason, the default spelling language is "English (Canada).

  I tried to fix it by right-click-> language-> English (United States).

  Unfortunately, that holds only until I restart my browser.

  Any ideas how to set permanently?

  I'd be perfectly happy if all text entries were always mistakes like "English (United States)", since it's the only language I never use on my desk.

  It's unfortunate, there was some important security updates since the 30. Note that you can always download a. tar.gz print:

  Unzip it in your home directory. It should be pre-compiled so that you don't need to do anything else, but run it.

  As for your dictionary, I remember you need to install a Canadian English Dictionary in order to to use - what happens if you uninstall that in:

  • Tools > Modules > dictionaries

  You can also enter Subject: preferences in your address bar, go to content and to "choose." From there, you can reorganize your languages and see if it changes your default dictionary.

  In the past, I have installed language packs. It has been long since I tried, or needed to. Recently I tried to install the Japanese language pack, only to get the error of 8007065B, which I have found no solution for.

  I tried to manually install the language pack download Windows Update, and I said that it's incompatible. The same goes for any language pack.

  I think I can have interrupted an update a long time there, which gives a language pack partially down, or something similar. I don't remember very well, however. Maybe some file system has been damaged which causes all of the language packs seem incompatible?

  However, I am at my wits end here. I have no real understanding of what may be the problem.

  2. do you have any security software installed on the system?
   
  This problem occurs if a previous Windows Update process did not cause the computer to be in a corrupted state. This prevents the installation of any language pack.
   
  Step 1: Check if the Japanese language pack is listed, if so, then remove
  a. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
  b. in the Control Panel, click clock, language, and region, click on regional and Language Options and then click on Change display language.
  c. on the keyboard and languages tab, click install/uninstall languages under display language. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
  d. in choosing to install or remove languages, click on remove languages.
  e. under Select the languages that you want to delete, select the language that you want to remove, and then click Next.
  f. click on the language you want to remove and then click on remove.
  g. restart the computer and try to install the package of language manually in safe mode.

• Lenovo update shows Splash then crashes

  I had this problem for a few days now that when I try to use the system update it shows just the splash screen, but then unexpectedly closes without showing the normal Update Wizard.

  Sorry to hear about your problem of system update. All the ThinkVantage software, including the update of the system, can be downloaded from the website of Lenovo. Try to reinstall maybe that will fix it.

• Windows 7 Ultimate x 64-Windows Update - pack of Hungarian language - Code 80072EE2

  While French, German and Italian Language Packs (LP) installed fine, the Hungarian LP update triggers the Code 80072EE2, referred to in the help at changes of Windows Firewall settings. However, these changes are (and should already be) included in the exceptions. (an oxymoron)

  The Russian LP update causes Code 80200053, but no other help.

  I would like to receive a few usable advises to solve these problems.

  You can do the following:

  1 retrieve the computer and repeat the procedure, but this time done RIGHT and choose french.

  2. you can go to start-> systemsteuerung-> (something with Sprachoptionen 'regions-und')-> there you should be able to Exchange languages but I don't know how to do it because I have Vista just on English.
