  The speakers on the laptop itself work, but when I plug it into any pair a headset or headphones (I tried 5 well known pairs) and it's the same problem each time. The right ear piece works and the left does not. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, nothing helps.

  I think it's a hardware problem and it has a warranty until May 30, 2015, but I don't have the time or money to send it offshore to lenovo of difficulty (expensive to send from the military base).

  You can get a good cheap sound card USB off Amazon and use instead.

  There is no place to buy this decision in a separate part. The only possibility is to find a motherboard nonworking parts on ebay and to transplant the good audio jack on your motherboard, and I don't want to minimize welding skills that will. You'd be very likely to damage the motherboard still more. Your best bet now if you want to use the laptop with a gaming headset is to get a cheap usb sound card and plug it in when you want to listen in private. I guess that the speakers of the laptop still work OK?

  I have a brand new Lenovo Yoga 2 11, when I connect to a monitor external via micro hdmi port, audio is sent to the monitor, but I want to use some speaker external nice that I have and I would like to have audio input on the audio jack instead of going via hdmi.   Hey im currently on windows vista, my front audio jack is broken on my compaq presario CQ3040AN because my friend is triggered on a Jack already plugged into it. I think that part of the Jack may have violated in there, causing the computer always recognize something hip and I am trying to use the back entrance, but it does not work.

  is he still taking on reading taking back and if so is there a way to disable the front to operate the back?

  If you are comfortable to open the CPU Tower and disconnect the wiring for the front cable which goes from this Jack to the Audio card, you can go ahead and perform the same. You can also contact the manufacturer of the computer for support.

  If I turn off the digital output, audio DOES come from the audio jack front (so no hardware problem). BUT the keyboard volume buttons do not work. In this mode, the volume must be adjusted by opening the window appropriately and with the mouse.

  I can't make it before the default device.

  I don't know what anyone that I did to preciptate. No new software, nothing. Just got back from vacation and that's the way it was.

  I am running Vista Home on my PC Media Center m7160n.  I used to be able to plug my headphones into the front audio jack and it would reduce the rear speaker output.  Now it doesn't!  I entered the sound properties and is set to turn off the rear socket, when the system detects a card into the front socket.  The helmet still works, but I need the speakers off when using the headset.  I hope this is enough information.

  It's weird and looks like the jack-detect is not working properly. This problem just started happening? It happened after installing anything, even a Windows Update?

  If it just started happening, you can try to perform a restore of windows to an earlier point when it was operating normally. Or you could try to re - install the driver audio or even install a updated audio driver. Who should take care of it, and if not you may need to make some configuration changes in one of the sound properties (Windows or Realtek).

  I see that you have Vista, you accidentally upgraded to Vista XP?

  I recently bought a Tecra A4. My plug stereo audio 3.5 mm (that I used with my laptop computer players and previous music) can not get into the audio jack of the Tecra. There seems to be a sort of "obstruction" in decision-making.

  I've had the laptop returned during the initial period of 14 days. However, the laptop next sent me has had the same problem.

  I'm really confused with the description of your problem. AFAIK all laptops have the same dimension of audio input jack (the same standard audio port). I put t know what laptop, you had before, but there is no difference. Important is that audio is well inserted in the port audio (jack whole). Right now, it will work correctly.

  I tried my helmet in many other portable (various manufacturers) in my office and it works perfectly.

  It's called a mini-TOSlink. It has the same dimensions as a headphone jack 3.5 mm, but it is simply a small tube.   Hello, I got my Lenovo y40-70 for a little over a year (so that my warranty is expired - ways don't tell me use my guarantee to solve my problem). After the Windows 10 update, I had the terrible battery life. He would go from 100% to a State of hibernation in time. Previously, I got the battery performance acceptable with maybe about 3-4 hours of use. I tried to update all my drivers and play with the parameters of battery etc. I uninstalled the application of energy Manager and am not prepared to perform a gauge reset due to potential negative effects it could have on the my system. • Carpet mouse and keyboard Lenovo Y40 - 70 do not work

  I have a Lenovo Y40-70 running Windows 8.1 64bits.

  A couple of days, I restarted the laptop and it installed updates. After you install the updates, the keyboard and the mouse do not work (I had to use a keyboard external usb and a mouse to open a session and to this forum post). There was no physical trauma on the laptop. It worked fine before I restarted, and after that it didn't. It has been literally sitting on the table all the time.

  The keys don't work either outside the operating system. I started using the Novo key and could not select all options because none of the keys work. The Fn + F2 combo that allows you to rotate the display does, however, most likely (I presume) because it is a direct physical connection to the screen.

  It could be a coincidental hardware issue.

  I think that there is an option in the BIOS you have disable called "BIOS backflashing" or something that allows you to downgrade the BIOS. This option can also prevent you to install the same BIOS version ontop of itself.
