Lenovo Y510P | Sudden power loss on unplug and operate the State cycling under the optimized battery

Hello

I recently came across these related problems on my Lenovo Y510P of power: model i7, 8 GB Ram, GT750M configuration.

----

It started after I installed a new SSD for the system, the clean install of Windows 8.1 with all latest drivers except the previous version of the BIOS and Lenovo Energy Management. Until all this started, the battery would not charge I have troubleshooted and fixed this problem by removing the battery and holding down the Start button. Over the next few days, I started to have additional problems.

When I unplugged the power adapter, the system suddenly put off the power. Here is what happens:

1. turn on the system with connected adapter and battery attached.

2. unplug the adapter

3. quickly plug adapter

4. Quick disconnect adapter again.

5. the system turns off completely.

Then, I started to notice that the "Battery optimized" regime, the power state would be cycle between power adaptor and batteries, as observed in the cycling of screen brightness and performace cobs. This has happened only if the battery charge level was higher than 60% but less than 98%. Regularly, I used this energy system and did not notice this problem until very recently.

----

I reinstalled the original SSHD (same OS and driver installation methods), where these issues were not present in the past. However, two problems remained.

I've updated the BIOS and the Lenovo Energy Management to the latest versions. Two problems persist.

----

I would appreciate any help or insight. My tech knowledge level is above average, so feel free to use the advances or procedures. Thank you!

I don't know what the problem at the moment with your laptop, but if it's a problem with the power supply or the battery it can easily lead to a fried motherboard.

I would like to communicate with Lenovo and send the laptop for repairs or ask for a replacement charger and battery.

  • Satellite A30 - sudden power loss

2 times recently my A30 suddenly just cut dead, almost like a power cut (even if it wasn't!). If I tried to re - start right away it would only have access to the login screen and then completely cut out again. If I leave then for an hour or two (cool?), it starts OK. Oddly enough, you do NOT receive the usual message "windows was not shut down properly, now check the drive for errors," i.e. it booted up just normally, however the 2 I was working on documents Word have been recovered OK.

My feeling is that it may be a hardware failure, possibly related to the temperature? Someone out there you have ideas? Thanks in anticipation...

    Hello

It could be an overheating problem. If the temperature drops to the critical limit for the operating system stops the unit. It is a thermal protection of the portable Toshiba.
Well, the overheating problem is a very serious problem. I recommend to check for dust cooling fans. Try to clean it with the vacuum cleaner.
If the problem persists then you should contact the service partner.

  • My hard drive begins to randomly run very fast, then everything is locked, and I have to push the power button to shutdown and restart the CPU

I use a desk top of HP 5 year, running Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade from Vista.

Im not 100% sure what you mean but I think you mean the fans come on fast?

If it is then you probably have a dust build up inside your PC or something that hampers the movement of air.
HP desktop computers are usually fairly easy to check inside, usually a handful or a pliers to remove the top cover or side (there may be one or two screws on the back), once you have it you can see the fans and just check if there is dust covering the front Grill , rear grille and the heatsink. You can use a small accessory vacuum cleaner to do this, just be careful not no knock all components.
If you don't want you may damage whatever it is then if you have a friend or relative who knows a little bit of PC you could ask them to check it out.
Usually, dust accumulates in areas where are fans which reduces the airflow in your PC and can make the fans rotation and your pc run slow / lock up.

    Hi rafburtonwood,

Try a hard reset as follows:

Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
Press and hold the power button for more than 15 seconds.
Plug the DC power adapter (leave the battery for now)
    Press the power button

  • TOSHIBA Power Saver software is turn off the optical disc drive, and I'm unable to re - turn on the power.

    Original title:

    Aloha!

    I have a Toshiba Qosmio x 775-3dv78 running Windows 7 Home Premium x 64.
Similar to another old post here, I have an intermittent problem where the Toshiba Power Saver software is off the ODD (a Matshita UJ240EF - BD - RE) and I am unable to turn on the power.  To put the ODD back on, it's a matter of restarting (sometimes several times) until the STRANGE somehow turns on.
Sometimes, when I do a hot or cold boot, a window opens asking me if I want Toshiba Power Saving technology to turn ON the ODD.
I click 'Yes', but the drive remains switched off.
I also try to use function - same key controls... The STRANGE remains turned off.
    Here are the "best":
As described in the former post office, inside the Windows power settings, there is a slot layout titled "TOSHIBA Power Saver Settings v8.9.9.64".
In this context, normally there is ONLY a framework for 'cooling method.  BUT only when the ODD is disabled, a second parameter appears to "Optical Drive Power".
Change that on ONE for battery and plugged in fact NONE no difference... The STRANGE remains OFF!
Toshiba support is of no help.  Their answer to this problem is to run a 'Mr Fixit' which I discovered just unrecognized devices and then removes the upper and lower filters for the reader.  This "difficulty" might work from time to time... when it does, the ODD is somehow transformed into a 'removable' instead of one device ATA device.
But then in a few days, the STRANGE turns off again.
Something different maybe notable, I found after that I continued services and the related process, programs is that the version number on the Toshiba modules show "8.9.6" - not the "8.9.9.64" in the window Power Options.
And before you ask (LOL!) what's happening on a soft reinstallation of the operating system by the media of recovery Toshiba with all Windows 7 updates applied.
While I'm waiting for a possible response, I'll do the following:
Uninstall and reinstall all THE software Toshiba provided duty with the STRANGE (energy saving, combustion, players, etc.)
I will also shoot material part and make sure that the STRANGE is well inserted in the connector (IDE?) and that the connector is firmly attached to the motherboard.
IF who does things, I'll update this message and inform you all.
Otherwise, any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Mahalo!

  • E270 freeze when refreshing, redefinition and install the last firmaware v2 and nothing

Hello! I have a big problem, I just copied mp3 on my e270 player, as I have done all the time in months past, but this time everhing want badly... Updated database and reset... databases update and reset... like that, impossible to stop, just to be able to and the same thing happened when I restart, then I just read on the way to reset it with the lock and hold the recording and the power , goodddd, I saw a thread of the text, version 03 o something like that, then I saw for a Player V2 it should say 03, well, I download the firmware for the V2 and extract it on the drive of 16Meg that is appeared in my computer, and then disconnected it and the player says something like COPY ROM and nothing more happened then I turned off the player and tried to restart it, but it does not, restart it just doesn't turn on at all... Now I TAPED! with a lot of work, I founded the whole thing to do as a new... I just make a simple guide, I think it can be useful for many people, if they do not know LINUX.

If the rom is corrupt or you did something wrong whith the flashing rom.

you have to use LINUX, I use UBUNTU 8.10 Intrepid, if you are a windows user, you can download it.

Here I give you a few options, the last one is to download the CD, but you can visit the Web site and select a download location.

    Site of Ubuntu:
    http://www.Ubuntu.com

    Direct download of this CD:
    http://less.Cogeco.NET/Ubuntu-releases/intrepid/Ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386.ISO

    Burn it to a CD.

Restart your computer with UBUNTU inside and boot from the CD.

You can switch to another language and change the keyboard before you begin, use the first option to start, it will not install anything and nothing changes nothing in your system.

you need to open some windows, don't close them until you finish the process, you will have to play from one to the other, just to see the bottom of the screen where are the windows list.

    go to APPLICATIONS/accessories/Terminal
    type in the terminal:
    sudo knew

at this point, you will be the master of your system.

Open a file browser of your system, where Firefox will put the files you downloaded.
    go to PLACE/DESKTOP

    Open the FIREFOX web browser
    go to APPLICATIONS/INTERNET/FIREFOX

    you need last rom:
    DOWNLOAD:
    http://mp3support.SanDisk.com/firmware/E200/e200v101.02.24A.zip

go to the file browser, right-click, click on the downloaded zip file and select EXTRACT HERE.
Extract in its own directory (we need to create a directory named: e200v101.02.24a)

    go to Firefox
    DOWNLOAD:
    http://Daniel.haxx.se/Sansa/e200tool/I2C-E280.bin

Go to the file Explorer, select the bin file and put it in the same directory (e200v101.02.24a):

in this directory (e200v101.02.24a), simply create a file with nothing in it,
Click with the right button and select CREATE NEW FILE DOCUMENT/EMPTY and name:
    Sansa.fmt

    go to Firefox
Download the e200tool and save it in the same directory (e200v101.02.24a).
    http://Daniel.haxx.se/Sansa/e200tool/e200tool

Go to the file Explorer, select the e200tool file and put it in the same directory (e200v101.02.24a)

in the end, you should have this directory (e200v101.02.24a):
    BL_SD_boardSupportSD.ROM
    e200tool
    I2C - e280.bin
    PP5022.MI4
    Sansa.fmt

go to the TERMINAL (you must take care of the CASE, upper and lower are different under linux)
NOTE: you can press on it were you (TAB key) to complete the file name or to see a list of files.
type (depends on your language, can be desktop, desktop, etc.):
    CD Desktop
    ls-l

You should see something like this and other files:
    drwxr-xr-x 2 steve steve 4096 2009-01-01 10:02 e200v101.02.24a

If you have this directory, go inside, otherwise, stay there.

    to go inside, type:

    CD e200v101.02.24a

    now, to pass us...

    with the sansa
put on hold (LOCK LOCK switch),
Press and hold the (down arrow) button for 5 seconds pass in Factory mode
Connect the sansa to the USB port of your computer, the wheel turns again now.
    leave the button
Press and hold the rec button

    in the TERMINAL, type:
    sudo. / e200tool init
    sudo. / e200tool i2cprogram i2c - e280.bin

    Disconnect the Sansa
Power the power button off, holding 20 seconds
    On mode factory
    connect to the computer usb

    in the TERMINAL, type:
    sudo. / e200tool recover BL_SD_boardSupportSD.rom

Unplug and restart the Sansa player in manufacturing modeholding the REC button, connect it to the USB, you should now have the 16 MB drive in a new file browser. At this point, the player to show something like:
    Lun0 locked
    Lun0 unlocked
and he repeats a lot of time...

    Open the first FILE BROWSER,
Select the 3 files with the CTRL key and click with the mouse, go to the EDIT menu and select COPY.
    Http://mp3support.sandisk.com/firmware/e200/e200v101.02.24a.zip BL_SD_boardSupportSD.ROM
    PP5022.MI4
    Sansa.fmt

go to the other EXPLORER of FILES with the open 16 MB disk.
now simply copy the 3 files on the 16 MB drive:
go to the EDIT menu and select PASTE

Click the icon of the COMPUTER a high Center of the browser, and with the right button of the mouse, select the 16 MB drive, in the menu that appears, select REMOVE.

Remove disk 16 MB of your computer, wait for the confirmation to take it apart and disconnect the Sansa.

put the button of BLOCKING (LOCK) in the unlock position, turn off the SANSA pressed the button to power 20 seconds if necessary, turn it on and it will report formatting the SANSa as a new one, erasing everything in it and you will be able to use it as the first time.

NOTE: I tried everything first without the sansa.fmt to save all files inside, but he ran like before with the problem, and then I had to format.

Hope it may help someone in the future, thank you all for your help and all who have written something on how to restore the Sansa e200 series V1 (e270 in my case).

  • Satellite A200 - Vista does not and only the mouse works

I have problem with Windows Vista SP1 on A200 (PSAE6E).

After the recovery of the DVD attached to computer system Vista laptop and running other programs sometimes not respond. Hard drive also stop working. One job of the mouse and the cursor moves on the screen, nothing else. ALT + CTRL + delete not work too only solution is hard power off by pressing and hold the switch.

Before recovering the system everything works fine. I noticed this Vista product key does not match that of the sticker. I have not changed key and no one else do not have access to my laptop, hard drive that is encrypted by TruceCryp.
There is no viruses or Trojans in the system (verified by Avira free antivirus and HijackThis), all updates are installed, only one material error with I noticed his first bad block on the hard disk.

    Hello!

Have you tried an external keyboard on the laptop? Maybe the internal keyboard is not working properly and so you can not use CTRL + ALT + DELETE.
The laptop is not completely freeze because you can move the cursor.
In addition, what programs have you installed on your laptop? Maybe these software applications cause this problem.

Furthermore, you reinstall Vista using the Toshiba Recovery disk or the disk of Microsoft? Because you have questions about the product key on the underside of the laptop and this key belongs to the preinstalled version of Vista. It's an OEM key and you can't use it with a disc of Microsoft.

    > only material error with I noticed his first bad block on the hard disk.
I think you should swap the HARD drive as soon as possible. Back up your data immediately.
And this is perhaps the reason for the problem... Who knows?  :|

  • Create new vCenter and move the ESXi hosts

    Hello

I created a new vCenter vCenter apparatus using ISO 6.

The deployment went well and I have all the installation program. I would now like to move hosts our old vCenter to new ESXi.

I was reading this article to start the moving process.

When I try to disconnect the host I get the message below

    vcenter6_hostmove_001.png

In the article in the link above it is written that it will not affect the State of the virtual machine running on the host.

If I click on 'Yes' here, it will automatically put the host in maintenance mode?

I prefer not to do it if I can avoid it because I don't want to have to evacuate all virtual machines running on the esxi host.

Wouldn't it be better if I disabled it HA first? Then try to move hosts? Or I'm sure to sign-out and the subsequent removal?

    Thank you

    See you soon

    Hello

You must put your server in maintenance as a first step mode, then unplug and remove the server. It will work.

If it doesn't work, disable temporary HA and remove your host of the VC.

  • Lenovo Y510P does not start, the white screen at startup

    Hello world

I got a Lenovo Y510P with SLI 750 m for about 1 year and 3 months now. 2 weeks (at the time, that I've upgraded to Windows 10). My laptop is suddenly unable to boot most of the time.

When I press the power, it hangs on the initial empty screen with no logo pop up. I managed to get it started before, simply by restarting again and again, but it's been 3 days and no luck. He simply stays on a blank screen (no), although the keyboard button and the power light.

Here are the steps I took to solve problems:
-> Battery removed, disconnected ca, played "suppression of ephemeral power" now the power button for 60 seconds (did it this several times)

-> RAM removed, changed slots etc. When there is no RAM, the computer continuously restarts
    -> Deleted HARD drive, reinstalled

-> Removed 2 GPU. When the 2nd GPU is plugged in, the fan will try and turn from time to time

-> Connectors disconnected to the wi - fi module

    -> Restarted several times

-> Press the NOVO button, he just brings him to the white screen

Any advice would be much appreciated. The laptop itself is in good condition and has little physical ware. Unfortunately, is no longer under warranty, and I don't know the cost to send it is quite high.
