Lens STM on the 60 d?

Very new to DSLR Canon, have a new 60 d body and he would buy STM 18-55 lens but camera store guy says that it does not work with the 60 d. What goals are correct for the camera. I want to start with 18-55, until I'm finding things. I've worked with big cameras HD docs, but I have not touched a SLR or DSLR for years.

Hi, jaymack!

The Canon EOS 60 d is compatible with all EF-S Canon EF lenses.  This means that the camera will indeed use the lens EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 STM IS lens, right out of the box.

We hope this helps!

I'm looking at the lens Canon EFM 22 mm f/2 STM and I wonder if it will work for my Canon eos Rebel t5. I need to know as soon as possible. I searched other places online and cannot find something that answers my question. If anyone knows and could tell me I would really appreciate it.

  • The "green dot" lens flare in the iPhone 7 / iPhone 7 more

I wrote on 'green point' lens flare issues I have with my iPhone 6 Plus. See Green dots in the iPhone 6 more photos - it's something that can be fixed? photos, for example.

I was hoping that this problem has been resolved with the new iPhones, two years later. But as I see in this review of the iPhone 7 - http://www.techconnect.com/article/3122614/iphone-ipad/iphone-7-review.html?utm _ source = Sailthru & utm_medium = email & utm_cam... - if you look at the car first two photos, the author shows 'green point' stray light is present in the iPhone and iPhone 6s 7 photos.

So I'm disappointed to see that this problem has not disappeared.

Does anyone know if this is also the same with the iPhone 7 Plus, which has two glasses?

Just wondering if any iPhone 7 more users have been able to test this.

Before the upgrade, I would like to know if the "green point" lens flare problem that exists with the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, 6s iPhone more and apparently also with the iPhone 7 also happens with the iPhone 7 more.

It has a system of different lenses, so I'm curious to know if this problem persists or not.

  • The manual focus ring on my zoom EF-S 18-135 lens does not seem to indulge in the optics to change orientation

The manual focus ring on my Canon 18-135mm EF-S is free to turn if the switch is in the position AF or MF. It does not change the focus. Auto focus works well. Another objective of zoom seems to allow a manual focus without difficulty. What have I forgotten?

What is the new version of the STM or the old version non - STM of the 18-135?  It will make a difference in the operation of the focus ring.

If this is the version non - STM (original 18-135), then you should _not_ attempt to focus of the lens manually with the switch auto focus mode AF.

If it's the version of the STM (new 18-135) then you can rotate the focus ring if the switch of autofocus is AF or MF (but it wont focus unless the unit is on and not asleep.)  For example press the shutter button halfway to reactivate and work the focus ring).

Most of the USM goals (there is no version of the 18-135 USM) allow the ring to be returned if the device is in AF or MF mode.  The ring is basically a like a sweet clutch and there a few deliberately built sliding- and these rings of just development will keep turns and turns... There is no hard stop for the ring.

  • Need advice on the protection filter and lens hood

I'm looking into buying a UV filter to protect my 18-135mm IS USM lens. Is the B + W 67mm UV Haze MRC 010 M filter a good filter to use if I want to keep the filter on all the time? A standard lens cap would be in addition to that?

The lens hood Canon EW - 73 is a good visor to use on top of the 18-135 mm Canon lens

B + W filters are excellent but expensive.

More in this forum would probably have a filter of protection needs, particularly if you use a lens hood. I think I fall into this category, although I tried once to nibble while covering an event that was a table buffet and stuck the tip of my goal in a dish of cream sure dip.

There is no such thing as a cap gun good or bad for one of their lenses, just a good or bad. Always use the one they recommend, or it may interfere with the field of vision. Lens hoods are generally very tolerances in this regard. If you are using a 3 rd-party hood, be sure that it is an exact replacement for the condom correct Canon.

  • The lens compatibility

I found the threads associated with DSLR targets on a DSLR but see nothing on through different models of digital SLR lenses.  If this has already been answered, please direct me to the appropriate thread.

I have an EOS 20 d.  I would like to get some more recent body but don't want to have to get new lenses.  The lenses I have for the 20 d will work on all EOS XXD models?

I'll throw in a warning that was not mentioned.

IF you have 3rd party... lenses turns that Canon does not publish specifications for the electronics of the EOS.  These 3 parties have reconstitute the interface in order to build a compatible lens.  They tend to test these lenses with any Canon body are currently on the market at that time.

Just sometimes... Canon will come out with a new body of EOS and the 3rd part of goal maker (and it's customers, unfortunately) will discover that the lens is no longer compatible with the 'new' body.  Canon has nothing wrong... they are still following the same features... but it means work the 3rd party reverse-eningeering na not cover all cases and the new camera is taking advantage of certain features that the 3rd party never tested.  Some 3rd party lenses one be returned to manufacturers to have their electronics reprogrammed or updated for compatible (but not always... sometimes you are just out of luck.)

If you have all the glass cannon... you won't have this problem.

As to the compatibility of Canon...

Canon lenses come in the following flavors:

EF lenses: these lenses will work on ALL Canon EOS body... few matter where it was made, film or digital, is not serious.  They work.

EF-S-objectives: these lenses are designed for use on the body of EOS who have APS - C size sensors.  The APS - C sensor is a little smaller than the 'full frame' sensor (it is a sensor that is roughly the same size as a single image on 35mm film).  A sensor APS - C being physically smaller, the EF-S lens is designed to project a small circle of image into the body of the camera. This allows the lenses to be smaller and lighter, and usually also less expensive... but the tradeoff is that they cannot be used on any camera body that has a 'full frame' sensor

EF - M lenses: Canon introduced (and seems to have already abandoned, at least in North American markets) a camera 'mirrorless' in the EOS System.  This camera was called the EOS - M.  You can not buy more.  But in all cases, the came with just a couple of lenses designed JUST for this particular camera body (but the camera can also use other EOS lenses.)  The EF - M lenses can ONLY be used on the EOS - M body.

The TS-E objectives: these are specialty lenses that can change image perspective as well as the focal plane of inclination.  You can think of them as the "EF" lenses, they can be used on ANY Canon EOS body.

MP-E objective: it is a 'photo macro' specialized goal.  Canon made a number of macro lenses.  A macro lens allows including close close focus and most of the 'real' macro lenses will allow you to focus at a distance close enough to provide 1 x scale - which means that the image on the sensor is too great that the topic is in "real life."  But with a normal macro lens, you can also focus all the way to infinity.  The MP-E 65mm is special... it's "closer" focus distance is so incredibly close he can capture subjects at 5 x size (instead of size 1 x of the other macro lenses).  But the trade-off is that the lens focuses all the way to the 'infinite '.   No other camera company made a lens like him.  The MP-E lens can be used on ANY Canon EOS body.

  • Correction of the lens profile in Lightroom/Photoshop

I am fairly new to Lightroom and Photoshop, so forgive what may be very novice questions about the correction of the lens.  I've walked these tips to help, but you have not yet found information that solved the problem exactly.

I use Lightroom CC and CC of Photoshop (running on a Mac).  I use a Nikon D750 and the objective in question is a Nikkor 24-120 f/4 VRII.  For JPEG images in question, I had tile control off in camera in order to avoid double fixing the LR/PS issue (and really have been dissatisfied correction in camera).

Like many other people have asked about, I have some JPEG files that I want to apply the correction lens profile in LR, but none exist for that lens in JPEG.  I tried the steps that a lot of people have suggested in many forums (i.e., copy of the RAW profile which is located in the folder/Library/Application Support / Adobe / Camera Raw /..., to change all the "stCamera:CameraRawProfile ="True"' to 'False', then copy the file in the same folder and restart).  I tried to locate the new profile of lens using LR and Camera Raw in Photoshop.  I closed the program, restarted, but nothing seems to work.

Because it did not work, I got rid of the new lens profile I copied and went in Photoshop, using the "Correction of the lens" option in the "Filters" menu (but not in Camera Raw because it does not work).  In the filter, it recognizes the lens and allowed me to make the correction of "thumbnail".

    So my questions are:

    (1) is the method of copy/text change to adapt RAW lens profile does not work for LR CC or is there another text in the file LCP to be changed to make it work? Don't know what I'm doing wrong.
    (2) apart from the inefficiency of having re - import the Photoshop file to LR are all the problems to fix the way I did it using the lens correction filter in PS?  I couldn't find any discussion who suggested doing it this way, so it was not clear to me if there was a reason to not do it instead.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Could not load profile lenses looks like it would be a problem.  I wonder if your text editor removed line breaks or add or change the encoding to something different.  You could re-edit of true-false and see if things work better.  If I change a LCP on Windows I use instead of Wordpad Notepad because Notepad keeps the characters at end of line and encoding.

The text you see list of LR may not ProfileName it can be the name of the goal or nice name for a lens or something else.  You can change the description read by the man to have a different version: v2a. 2 b v, v 2 c, etc, then you can say that is actually used.

Or, if this description is replicated for each entry profile, then you might need to change not only one.

  • No info in the metadata in Lightroom CC2015 lens

I would like to know why information of the lens has been removed metadata specified in the lightroom library.  I find this information very important when back on my photos I took to see the target I used at that moment.  Now it is no longer included.

This image shows lightroom metadata display showing the lens I used, notice of the date, February 27, 2016.

    Metadata without Lens.jpg

It comes to lightroom without the lens information in the metadata view that it took in April 17, 2016.

Is someone can you please tell me why this information of the lens has been removed metadata in lightroom.
