Levels of firmware unsupported for the stepping of the processor of AMD family 10 h B2

I just bought a machine with the following:

-Card mother Asus M4N78 Pro

-AMD Phenom X 4 9600 CPU

-8 GB RAM

-Sata drives

I tried the following, all with the same error which results in the "levels of firmware unsupported for the deepening of the family 10 h CPU B2 AMD" loading.

-ESXi 4

-ESXi 3.5 U2 (I read on many forums after the 3.5 u3 firmware issues)

-Version ESX available with the evaluation version of vSphere.

I went through many discussions, describing this problem over the past two years.  Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

I found a work around for 'not supported microcode levels' problem: http://communities.vmware.com/thread/236107?tstart=150

    * How do I know what CPU logic belong to what CPU and will be one of the useful information for NUMA or configuration of the processor affinity?

the question is to know how to identify the logical processors belongs to the same socket for example and get his number to be configured for the processor affinity.

You don't need to do this vsish, esxcli already provides this info.

The ID value of package tells you what physical socket the respective logical CPU belongs to:

    Need help. Thank you.

What mean of these messages, is that these "Firmware updates" do not apply to material in your specific computer. The two "Seagate Firmware Updates" are respectively for the hard drives of 250 GB / 320 GB and 500/750 GB hard drives. Your computer comes with a 1 TB hard drive, which is not subject to updates of the firmware. The "PLDS Optical Drive Update" is for another drive to CD/DVD only installed in your computer and also does not apply. There is no further action to take... Do not attempt to install these updates of firmware, because they do not apply to the hardware in your computer.

  • Upgrade the processor with AMD 10 - 4600M of HP Pavilion dv7-6101er (lz661ea) FS1 and FS1r2 taken

Hello friends. I own HP Pavilion dv7-6101er (lz661ea) and I want to upgrade processor. Current processor is A6-3410MX and socket FS1 I want to replace for socket AMD A10-4600 M FS1r2. But I'm not shure will be new processor works in my notebook? I asked this question in support of the ADM, they said that the two CPU is compatible, but need software support in the bios of the specific laptop models. I can't put this question to the HP support because the time of free assistance of my model is over. Please ask - my notebook BIOS will support a new processor?

    n00x wrote:

All of what you have written - I understand that. But understanding and you - the replacement of the processor is necessary because the lack of performance. For a new book, I have no money. You are an employee of HP and can really help to ask someone of your colleagues who will know exactly to run the new AMD processors in my notebook. All my books have HP I have always helped the company - buy its products, help me and you now. I'm not pleading for much - just a concrete answer - will work or not?

    N° !! That's where you're wrong. I'm not an employee of HP.

Very few of us here in the forums are employees of HP. Those who are, with few exceptions, are here volunteer their time to help the owners of HP products. It is a peer to peer forum, where the owners of HP products share their time and expertise, helping others who need assistance. We are here to help. We help voluntarily.

There is no concrete answer on this. Sometimes an upgrade to a non supported CPU will work, but more often it will fail.  Read my previous posts. The risk of any currency you use in your country to buy the new processor is yours, not me, or HP.

Here's a solid answer for you... Use a processor that is listed in the Service & maintenance Guide and your chances of success of upgrade will increase considerably.  I can't say that your upgrade success will be guaranteed because there's always the chance you can break something during the assembly/disassembly or not having knowledge of a critical assembly/disassembly procedure and inadvertently destroy your new processor.

If you want a high-performance CPU and chipset in a laptop computer, then choose when making a purchase of laptop. Computer laptop/notebooks are not actually intended to be upgraded.

  • 2950 HDD D80A Firmware Update for the dedicated hot spares

I have a 2950 III with 8 Fujitsu 146 GB drives installed in a RAID 10 array. The first six discs are configured for use in a virtual disk with the last two records configured to be used as a dedicated hot spare. OMSA describes the version of the firmware of these two disks 0102. I ran the update of the firmware as described here:

    http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails/product/PowerEdge-2950?driverId=F50fd

The six drives in the virtual disk just successfully upgraded to the version of the firmware D80A. Two rescue disks have not been tempted. I tried to run the Setup again and Setup note that installed and packaged versions are both D80A, but OMSA said that two rescue disks are always at 0102.

This is expected behavior? Spare disks are treated differently? If so, the firmware update as they are now or have I trade in the virtual disk to do the upgrade?

The link does not work for me earlier... it's working now.  There is also a utility 'nautilus' which can be used on Dell readers... it will update all readers of Dell, regardless of the make and model... preventing you from having to download a dozen different services.

Yes, that is why the update is a failure: Dell firmware cannot be updated with the firmware of the sale to the retail/credits, and retail/Generic firmware cannot be updated with the Dell firmware.
