  Hello.  We have an application that runs on a computer that is accessing the Acrobat object model to run code to manage PDFs on the PC.  We want to put this on a Terminal Server, which will be used for up to 6 people at any time.  I don't know what are the terms of licensing Terminal Server, I rang sales, they have said that his company, they said his support and finally, they said "we'll call back you today", but did not.  The real product is never opened by the users, we just want to access the model object programmatically.   Is it possible to temporarily reactivate (period 6 months) the license for Terminal Server services?  I thought we had a permanent license and have never seen this message before. My guess it is initially set to expire at that time.

  Is there something we can do?  Registry editing? Y at - it another software that we could use instead of the Terminal services Server to temporarily access the Advanced server 2000 remotely, once the Terminal Server services license expires? Can we buy a license 'enewal"for a period of 6 months/1 year until we have to transition?

I called Microsoft to activate it. I was able to activate successfully. But how do I know Terminal Server that I use now is 120 days or active version?   I need some clarification in licensing to provide the solution that is right for my customer.

  One of my clients purchased Dell server with preloaded Windows Server 2012 OS (Standard Edition) us (from my company) to replace the
  existing server that has windows Server 2003.

  Now, the thing is customer want to transfer/migrate their client access licenses Server and Terminal Server CALs for Server 2003 to 2012 server.

  But is it possible to transfer/migration of CALs client Server 2003 to 2012?

  In the case of is not possible.
  May I suggest Windows server 2003 to install as a virtual operating system in Hyper-V
  to use their existing CAL?

  And is it as additional permit is required to use Server 2003
  Hyper-V?

• Error 16, Terminal Server server issues

  Purchased a perpetual/serialized/volume license. Correctly installed by using installation on the Terminal Server mode. Remote users get error 16 and then the application closes. Running as Admin does not resolve the issue. They can open the program. It takes a little, and then closes with this error. I noticed that under "Admin" who installed the app, I can see the name of Adobe identification code in the upper right. There is a connect button that does not work on users.

  If I keep Acrobat launched as part of the Admin session, it seems that users can continue to use the application without receiving the error 16. However, it is a problem because it's a manual process to do this every morning. I noticed in fact just that as mitigating the issue since this morning, so I'm not 100% it has lessened, but it seems to have.

  I tried to delete all Adobe products (Flash, Air, etc. etc) and reinstalled only Acrobat itself.

  Any help or advice would be amazing.

  I was wondering if I could get a little quick advice on something that I am about to install, any comments would be appreciated:

  I intend to run a total of 6 to 8 virtual Windows Server 2008 Terminal Server 32-bit on two servers Dell PowerEdge R710.  These are servers only and will not be configured for HA.

  Dell server config is dual Xeon E5620 Procs (8 cores), 2.4 GHz, 16 GB RAM

  The two servers will run the local storage (not SAN), with the virtual machine files (6) running 15 k SAS drives (readers separated to install VMWare)

  Is the best RAID configuration for this type of server is going to put these 6 drives in RAID 10, or should I divide their - e/s disc is a big concern for me based on past experiences with VMWare - keep in mind that let him down one of my instances of terminal server server is NOT critical as there will be 5-7 virtual servers that can pick up the slack.  Design real requres me to stand 3-4 of them and running at any time between the two servers.

  VProcessors how can I put it on every server terminal server, (thinking that 2?)   I have read some things that indicated that multiple processors on the VMs can cause problems?

  Welcome to the community,

  I have implemented this type of configuration several times with XenApp5 on W2K3, however it should be equal for W2K8.

  The configuration I used:

  -2 processors of Intel QC (54xx or better)

  -min. 20 GB of RAM

  -RAID controller with at least 512 MB BBWC/BBU (battery backed cache) for the writeback operation

  -2 disks SAS 10 k or better in RAID1 (my virtual disk size for XenApp avarage is ~ 30 GB)

  - or 4 discs 2 x RAID1 (see below)

  -2 network cards (1 vSwitch with two different network connected to 2 physical switches cards)

  -up to 4 virtual machines on a host (1 MS Enterprise license allows you to configure up to 4 virtual machines on a host)

  -2 vCPUs per VM (this works better for a workload of XenApp as 1 vCPU)

  -RAM by virtual computer-> total amount of RAM minimum ~ 2 GB (for the hypervisor) divided by the number of virtual machines (for example with 16GB and 4 virtual machines--> ~3.5GB by VM)

  -NO RAM OVERCOMMITMENT. Usually, I put the memory reserve to the configured amount of RAM. In this way I avoid memory hot-air balloon and I also save disk space, because the swap file doesn't have any disk space.

  -Create virtual discs as "eagerzeroedthick" (check the FT/Cluster option in the wizard disk) for better disk performance.

  The reason for the 2 x RAID1 instead of 1 RAID10 configuration, it's that most RAID controller can not divide a RAID10 in several logical volumes. I like that the hypervisor in its own logical volume, which offers the possibility, in the case of a disaster - reinstall without affecting the virtual machines on the VMFS volume. So I divided the RAID in a logical volume of 10 GB (~ 5 GB for the hypervisor and scratch partition) a logical volume for the "production" data store and a small store of VMFS data for example ISO files
