license vRealize

is there any free vRealize operationsvRealize Operations manager to use

There is no more free license of Foundation with the release of vRealize Operations Manager, but you can always use the Foundation free vcenter Operations Manager, that version 5.8.5 supports even the vSphere 6, see: VMware vCenter Operations Manager 5.8.2

I'm fighting to understand the difference between the things mentioned in the text.

Anyway I need a better understanding of vRA licenses.

It's "OSI" (or managed system) instead of "per VM" because the software manages physical systems and workloads cloud based as well.

  • vRealize Automation Labs

How to create laboratories for practice Automation vRealize?

a similar debate, that you can find on the following thread

    Trial version of vRA?

Since you want to prepare a lab for practice, in this case first question is, the product works in trial mode, such as ESXi and vCenter. I don't think that vRA is available to assess directly to individual users as it is.

Try to explored hol.vmware.com for hosted evaluation and hands on exercises with tutorials documented quite nice.

I think that you get the right to license the VMUG subscription for vRealize Automation evaluation, if you buy it. Please check back subscription cost and evaluation license included in this one. It will help you build vRA Home lab to practice.

    VMUG: EVALExperience

and then if you want to get step by step instructions to prepare this lab environment. Give it a go on search google and you will find a lot these nice items written by various people, one who is on the following URL

  • VRealize Automation 7.0 application Setup

    Dear all,

I'm new to the cloud of vmware. By studying the Rainpole scenario published along the VRA 7.0 documentation, I managed to the initial installation of the unit and everything went well.

When the part is in demand for the initial setup of VSphere, I wasn't able to get out.

In the scenario of Rainpole they say that the endpoint name is supposed to be the same as the installer during installation (so it's fine). Then they say that the host of the endpoint is the IAAS server. Now, when I enter the who, the workflow will fail saying that the server Vcenter (IAAS) (the connection to the server vCenter [vriaas.nawasi.com.kw] Validation failed.)

Kindly, tell me what could be the problem. I have the license of vCloud business.

    Nabster,

I'm afraid we're getting top of my head now. The only things I can suggest to check are:

    (1) the endpoint name provided installation has on exactly match the name that you provide during the installation (and I think you mentioned you knew that)

    (2) account of the privileges for the credentials you provided for the management of vSphere: scenario: create credentials of vSphere for Rainpole (and if, during the installation of vRA, you have configured the agent vSphere for "integrated" credentials - check if you have provided these same credentials then)

    (3) name of user and password - just check double is the one who has enough credentials and password entered correctly

    (4) port requirements (especially 443 must be open on vSphere machine) vRealize ports required Automation configurations

    Richardson,

Nabster uses the Initial Catalog of installation element to set the end point: it's a little different than configuration traditionally by infrastructure > endpoints. (See attachment)

  • Log Insight 3.3 shows several entries host consuming licenses - can I clean it?

    Hi all

So I installed the Log Insight 3.3 for vCenter and it helped me to set up log shipping. Everything works well except two things:

    1. Duplicate hosts (see below) consume all my OSI licenses. Anyone know how I can clean one of the entries? (Of course, I can add FQDN ESXi host name if this is useful and supported)
    2. 5.5 ESXi hosts are not in list host - configuration double checked and restarted syslog. Possible due licenses OSI are consumed by the host entries a copy?

    Release notes:

The host table can display devices more than once.
The host table can display devices more than once with each in different formats, including a combination of IP address, hostname and domain FULL name. For example, a device called foo.bar.com may appear as foo and foo.bar.com.
The host table uses the host name field that is defined in the syslog RFC. If an event sent by a device via the syslog Protocol does not have a host name, vRealize Log Insight uses the source under the host name. This can cause the device being listed repeatedly as vRealize Insight Log cannot determine if the two formats are pointing to the same device.

    Advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    # 1 there is no way manually clear entries - for/admin/hosts the entry will be deleted once that all data from this host spun on (i.e. based on the retention period), for/admin/license if you click the question mark next to medium active HMOs, it says "The average County OSI active is the daily average number of hosts sending events to Log Insight." the big question is why are you seeing duplicates? Duplicates saw if DNS front AND rear are or are not configured correctly. Duplicates can also result in malformed syslog events.

    # 2, the question is not duplicated OSI - if this does not work, it means that something is wrong. It could be the network report including DNS resolution on the ESXi host or network firewall configuration (no configuration host firewall). You'll probably want to connect to and 5.5 ESXI host and check things like syslog configuration validation, confirming the network connectivity to LI, confirming DNS resolution to the syslog destination is work, etc..

    I hope this helps!

  • VCO 6.0.1 starts not more (license)

    Hello

a few days of my vrealize Orchestrator license has expired (I think it was just 60 days eval). I thought that he gets the vcenter license information - but ok.

Now my problem: I am using the Windows Version of the device and I can not start the service more. The papers say that the license is expired.
In the configuration I can not access the license tab is grayed out.

I googled around a while and has found a 'solution' where someone says "just make a backup and reinstall." I'm at a point where I would say ' Ok, let's do this. " But in the case where I really need the workflow that I designed-I need to make a backup of the database (embedded).

And that's what I'm stuck at the moment. Maybe one of you has an alternative solution how to get the system up and running again to enter the key to license somewhere.

  • Can it differentiate please vmware Sphere operation management and VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.0?

    Hello

We have a license for VMware vSphere 6 with operations management Enterprise Plus for 1 processor

Can explain everything about the use of these products and differentiate? Also, do I need to buy VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.0 license to use this VSOM?

vSphere with operations management Enterprise Plus 1 processor 6 includes 1 processor for vSphere Enterprise 6, Plus and one license for vRealize Operations Manager Standard.  You don't need to purchase vRealize Operations Manager 6.0 to use vSOM, as it is included.

  • ITBM Standard Edition - license token has expired

People, having a weird problem that I can't solve. I have a vRealize w/Business Standard Automation instance. Initially, I had used a trial license for my instance of ITBM Standard which has since expired. The problem is that, after the expiration of the test license, I am unable to apply a new license. When using the graphical interface, I get the message that the "license is invalid"... but I know that this particular key is valid. When I look at the catalina.out log, I see the error message:

    2015-04-09 12:09:01, 849 vcac: [component = "" coffee: event - log "priority ="ERROR"thread = tenant"taskScheduler-1"=" ""] org.springframework.scheduling.support.TaskUtils$ LoggingErrorHandler.handleError:95 - unexpected error has occurred in the scheduled task.

org.springframework.web.client.HttpClientErrorException: expiration date of token 401: kills Mar 17 21:14:03 EDT 2015 is in the past.

I tried literally everything I can think of to fix this - even redeployed the ITBM virtual appliance. Any ideas?

I realized what the problem was. There are invalid keys in the licences issued to partner that were causing the problem. If someone uses the keys expire Jul-15-2015... Beware!

  • vCloud Suite Enterprise vs vRealize Suite Enterprise

Solar Eclipse Super Moon happy first day of spring.

I have a client who is transforming their VMware environment.  One of the issues that has developed is vCloud Suite vRealize Suite vs.  I get confused answers from our partner of VMware. So I turn to the community.  VCloud Suite Enterprise "contain" vRealize Suite Enterprise?  Missing something vCloud Suite if you do not get vRealize Suite?

It seems to me that vRealize Enterprise Suite is an option for customers who want to map the product on their existing vSphere license without getting vCloud.  I've worked with clients in the past who did something similar with MRS.

    Thank you

    Boston TechGuy

VCloud Suite Enterprise "contain" vRealize Suite Enterprise?

No, there are more completely separate, but it contains some features or products that are present in the two sequels.

Missing something vCloud Suite if you do not get vRealize Suite?

Yes, don't you remember that all differences at the moment, but for example the vRealize of automation of vCloud Suite cannot physical settings manager.

It seems to me that vRealize Enterprise Suite is an option for customers who want to map the product on their existing vSphere license without getting vCloud.

vRealize Suite is a platform of cloud management with the purpose of managing the hybrid cloud, which can even been non-vSphere cloud, but does include is not licensed by the hypervisor. The vCloud Suite is more related to the vSphere cloud and will include licensing for vSPhere, ESXi hypervisor and Enterprise edition licenses RS too.

  • vCloud Director or vRealize Automation?

    Hello

I was hoping I could get some advice regarding the choice between vCloud Director and vRealize Automation. We have set up a test environment for vCloud Director however read some articles, it seems that it is a product that reaches the end of life for businesses, but not for service providers.

So my question is a service provider should us be implementation vCloud Director or vRealize Automation? We do not want to be in a position to migrate off vCloud in a year.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Chris

I can't make any kind of recommendation between the two, because I don't know what you want to do with the products.

Addressing the availability of the product and the support of it:

vCloud Director just won't be available to independently purchase and withdrew the license of the Suite from 6.x.  You must purchase the license 5.x to get it (assuming that it is available)... This aspect, if not suite your needs right now until mid-2017 (when vCloud will end support for users of the company).  From 2017, you have to make a decision as to what will replace vCloud or continue to use vCloud Director, even if we will not offer support for it.

VRealize Automation will meet your needs?  I do not know without knowing your use case and requirements... that is for discussion of a VMware sales representative.

Apart from all this: VSPP is the VMware service provider program.  A version of vCloud Director will exist for them, but it is precisely for them (members of the VSPP program).  Unless you work for a member of the VSPP program, the statements above concerning vCloud Director are what you think.

If you are Member VSPP, vCloud Director for the providers of services (5.6.x) is available as the direct vcloud Director 5.5.x successor.  Then by all means we will continue to support these versions, and it can be used to manage resources like a Cloud provider.

I had a number of people say they are service providers, which is very beautiful.  Be a VSPP means being in a specific program of VMware, which gives access to certain things (which AFAIK is vCloud for Service providers).

I'm not trying to be harsh or terse here, but I want to just make sure we do differentiation key on what is available to whom and how.

  • no option of endpoint EC2 on Automation 6.2 vRealize

When I try to create an endpoint inside vRealize Automation 6.2 EC2, I don't have the ability to select EC2.

This should be shown or are we forced to create the EC2 Cloud Tunnel until the value appears here?

vCloud licenses only Suite provides connectivity to VMware local endpoints (vSphere and vCD), given that it is authorized by socket (ala unlimited VMs). External connectivity requires by OSI licenses, available with advanced automation vRealize or the vRealize away.
