  I have upgraded to windows 7 and I'm trying to re - install my LifeCam VX-3000 but wen I do, I get a message indicating the cam "does not work" and "the program will close." I installed the drivers supplied by microsoft (LifeCam 3.2) and nothing. I even tried to re - install disk but it says that it was not compatible with windows 7 (it was LifeCam 1.4). So now I have a webcam that I can't use yet is supposed to be compatible with Windows 7.

  I was using XP before and had the same problem, update drivers exactly the same problem has happened then so I had to stay with the drive, but now I can't do same. Any help to what to now please?

  Thanks for your reply... but he turns there where some .dll missing as some other programs didn't work either so I re-installed the reg files and it's ok now... Thanks anyway

  I have a new computer. Corei3 530, 4 GB memory DDR3, 1 TB HDD, Intel H57 express chipset Intel Graphics Media Excellerator HD with Direct X 10 support. I installed the new firmware driver for Windows 7 on this site and clearly this webcam does not work with my machine. When you try to save videos in the application of webcam I hear a high-pitched squeel and playback is very fast, but when I record sound on the sound recorder application that's fine. Video freezes and is very jerky in the webcam application, but appears smooth in Windows Live Messenger. Any ideas as to why it doesn't work?

  1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

  2. which web application you use to record video?

  3. you receive an error message?

  As you are able to record audio by using the windows application and the webcam works fine with the Windows live messenger.

  It is possible that the application of web camera you use to record video is corrupted or not installed properly.

  I suggest you uninstall completely from the computer and then download and install the latest version of the program.

• LifeCam hd 5000 does not work with windows media player

  After the installation of the life cam HD5000, windows media player does not detect the external usb sound card card. Oddly enough, I use winamp.  any ideas?

  (2) you get an error message?

  Method 1: Set your USB soundcard as audio device in Windows Media Player by default

  (a) in Windows Media Player.

  (b) click Options on the Tools menu, click the devices tab.

  (d) click the options you want to use for playback, click OK, and then click OK.

  Also, have you tried to run the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to remove the previous 3.0 LifeCam installation files listed under method 2 in the previous link provided below:

  Troubleshoot installation of Intellipoint and IntelliType LifeCam software

  If so, please relay if the same problem occurred after you run the Windows Installer CleanUp utility.

  You can run the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to remove all files previously LifeCam 3.0 installation and then try to install again.

  To do this, unplug the LifeCam 3.0 device and please try Method 2 in the following link:

  After you run the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to remove all files previously LifeCam 3.0 installation, check the control panel > programs > programs and features to check that there aren't any ads for the LIfeCam device.   LifeCam vx-3000, was used for years a couple works very well now it seems to work well for messenger and works when lifecam program is open however does not work if I try and use it on any other web site?   Please provide the name of the exact model of your laptop. After checking, it shows that the model of computer you have, it does not support Windows 8.1, and because of that some features and functionality may not work.
