Lightroom 5 - re - installation license existing to the new laptop

Hello

I recently had an accident with my laptop.  He is now dead.  I want to reinstall Lightroom 5 I bought for download, I have the license number.  I tried downloading via the free trial version, as suggested by the forum, but it forced me to download creative cloud and would not accept my license number, says that it is not that I have already.  My understanding is that you can install the program on two computers, as long as the two belong to the same person. I spent a few hours hacking away and am frustrated, a person can offer only some advice please.  Thanks in advance

This seems to be a fairly frequent problem, it seems difficult to find non - CC for the download version and the CC version will not work with a license key no CC.

So, here's what I think you need to do:

  1. Uninstall the CC version you have downloaded and installed.
  2. Go here http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html
  3. Brings you to the download page for each country.  I know it says updates, but if you click on the version of Windows or Mac from LR is actually the entire program
  4. Download and follow the instructions for the installation and then enter your serial number when asked to.

Autonomous LR does not need by turning off, you can install it on your new laptop with the old number without any problems.  I did it myself in the past that I moved from new PCs.  Should CC and CC before Photoshop disabling but not CC LR.

Good luck!

  • Installation upgrade memory in the new laptop (E8730w)

    I just got my new laptop and was dismayed to see that I obviously have to install the 2 GB memory upgrade that I ordered.  When I'm ready to install it, I will contact HP technical support.  I'm interested in the big picture right now.  The laptop has installed Windows Xp and Vista, stored on the hard drive.  No matter if I use the new laptop for, say, from the user's manual before as I have added additional memory, or is it better not to use the laptop until I have all of the memory (2 GB original and 2 GB upgrade) in place.  I hope that this process will be no more complicated than to install an ethernet card in a years office 5 or 6.  Where can I get good screwdriver to open the module compartment memory?  From my experience, it is easy band, the head of a screw phillips, especially a small head, if there is no appropriate screwdriver.  I'd appreciate any idea on these issues.

    I don't think that no matter how long you use it before you install the memory. Regarding the screwdriver, I use a 41678 artisan to work on laptops with screws Phillips. It could cost $ 1.69 at any Sears and any tech tools for perhaps $15 will be a very similar small Phillips. You will know if you are stripping it, so stop everything. Memory installation is much easier than to put a PCI on a desk. Relax its all good.

    That because your CD is obsolete. You can get your driver here:

    Windows 7 32 bit - software & Driver Downloads - Officejet HP 5610xi all-in-one printer

    Windows 7 64 bit - software & Driver Downloads - Officejet HP 5610xi all-in-one printer

  • Installation of Lightroom 4 from the old to the new laptop

    I looked on the Forum and also dealt with Adobe Chat.  My problem is that I'm trying to allow my downloaded 4 of Lightroom for my new laptop computer.  I got 4 Lightroom on my old laptop.  The Forum and the Chat tech room instructions were to download and enter my key to convert the trial to licensed version.  The download is very good, and I have Lightroom (not sure what version?) on my new laptop.  When I tried to enter my Lightroom 4 code, I got a message that it was not valid.  I think it might be because the download was for creative cloud, are not specifically about Lightroom.  I know there is a Lightroom stand-alone version, but I can't understand how to deal with this.  Help, please!

    I think you have three choices-

    1 download LR - 4.4.1 and install with your LR-4 serial key. Adobe - Lightroom: for Windows

    2. buy a "Standalone" LR-6/CC upgrade. You will need your new LR-6 keys and LR-4.

    3. buy a subscription to LR - CC.

    Your LR - 4 key will work for up to LR 4.4.1 updates

  • Re-installing Lightroom on the new laptop, keywords from images! (I think!)

    Hello

    I use Lightroom 5.2

    I spent several days it is has updated all of my keywords in LR using my old laptop. I have about 8 000 image files, mainly RAW CR2 files, all recorded on a disc toshiba external hard.

    Now I have a new laptop and reinstalled LR on this new laptop computer. I'm starting to import all image files in LR since the external hard drive, but I noticed that there are no keywords in the version of LR installed on the new laptop.

    I perhaps foolishly assumed that when I keyworded all files first time round the metadata would be saved in the CR2 file itself, such that it would be accessible by other applications, or, in this case, by a version of LR installed on a different laptop. This doesn't seem to be the case.

    I'm doing something wrong? Are there key words, but I can't see them somehow?

    I really don't go back through 8000 files and re - keyword all, it took me days!

    If all this fails, can I go back to the version of LR on my old laptop (which I still have) and somehow join keywords in files on a more permanent basis so that they are recognized by my new laptop, or are what I'd need to set it as default when first, I realized the keywording exercise?

    Thank you very much
    Tom

    But it's a brand new version/installation of LR. Then it will be a brand-new photo as much as the new version of LR is concerned, used? How they see the before image file?

    Your keywords are in Lightroom, more precisely, they are in the catalog file. You must transfer the catalog file, as described in the link I provided. Import photos is not the way to do it.

    I tried to work through the tutorial you linked to, but I'm stuck at step 4: transfer. For example, he says to transfer the catalog, etc.. But I'm not transfer anything I am? I just have to say the new version of LR where to look to find image files...

    You MUST copy the file from the catalog to the new computer. Then, although it is a new installation of Lightroom, you MUST use your existing keywords with catalog. That's the key, you MUST use the existing catalog file.

  • Installation of OS on the new computer

    Kindly tell me the procedure of Instattation of my Windows Vista that has been installed on a laptop that is now outdated. I bought a new laptop and you want to install the same operating system on the new laptop. the older laptop doesn't have to use the OS aa it is planned to be scratched.
    Please suggest something of the same procedure.

    If Vista is preinstalled on your old laptop, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

    The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
    You may NOT transfer it to another computer/laptop

    If a license of Vista at retail, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
    But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If your license Vista is paid for the Retail Vista license, read on:
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • I need to disable a copy of my Lightroom 6.1.1 and reactivate the new laptop.
    I need to disable a copy of my Lightroom 6.1.1 and reactivate the new laptop. There is no 'activate' or the button 'disable' to the title assistance at registration (contrary to what is stated in the forums).
    The help section on the Adobe Web site made no reference to disabling Lightroom specifically, and the advice given for other products do not seem to apply.
    Can anyone help with a specific procedure to disable the product?
    Lightroom allows two facilities under a license. All what you need to do is uninstall Lightroom 6 and then install it on the new.
    Welcome @HELPMEPLSHSLOL,
    Thank you for your participation in the forums! I see that you are getting the error "new device is now connected" when you try to install the printer software. I'd love to help you.
    If you are using Windows and you're using a USB connection, try the steps in this document: HP Laserjet products - "Device setup has not completed" or the "Unknown device" Message appears in Windows during Installation of USB. If the printer will not be updated of the Manager of devices in the two Solution, make a right click and uninstall the print device. It may be listed as unknown device, USB or Laserjet M1132 print media. Disconnect, then reconnect the USB cable to see if it will continue the installation. If it is not that whatever it is listed for your printer, try another USB port directly on the computer or another USB cable.
    What operating system do you use? How to find the Windows Edition and the Version on your computer.
    How is the printer connected?
