Lightroom CC crashes when importing DNG conversion

All a few times LR crashes my whole computer after importation and I think that during the conversion to DNG. It is not every time, so I don't know what is happening. I copy as DNG on import from my SD card, I turned off to generate intelligent insights to import as well. Usually occurs with a couple hundred pictures or more.

It seems to import fine and get about 1/3 through conversion and blocking when it does. There are two status bars at the top left. One is the DNG conversion, and I'm not sure what the other is.

I have a Nvidia of 870 with 4 GB of RAM on it, but I wonder if it is a problem of GPU acceleration. That's the thing I think I could turn and see if it happens again.

So I think I knew what was causing it. (or one of two things, I guess I should test again one and then the other) I have a program called Infinit which is a file sharing application (a bit like dropbox, but without the storage... in fact I don't know where it stores the files, perhaps locally?). In any case, it runs in the Windows status bar in the background. When I leave, I did have a problem with the conversion of the DNG format since then. Questions of random weird program... The other option would be the application of Windows Home Server Launchpad which again, goes in the bin. I just don't not connect you with it, so it was still on that technically I guess so my money is on Infinit unless otherwise stated.

  • Lightroom 4 crashes when importing

I just installed Lightroom 4 on my Windows 7 computer, but I have problems with it:

When I launch the program and click on the button import into the lower left corner, the program is occupied for about a minute and then I get the message Windows that the program has encountered an error and needs to close. Sometimes the display comes before the error message and show "What wahlen" (this is the German version of LR. translation "select source") in the upper left corner.

I get this behavior every time Lightroom starts. I tried several times to reinstall Lightroom and before the last reinstall, I carefully removed all references of Lightroom on my hard drive.

    I installed Lightroom 4.1 64 bit.

My computer is running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1, has 4 GB of RAM, AMD Athlon Dual-Core processor 4250e. There are 35 GB free disk space on C: (SDD) and 80 GB on E: (mechanical hard drive).

The FAQ says: "what other software are you running? I'm not sure, what is interesting here. I use Microsoft Office, Firefox, Thunderbrid, Norton 360 Antivirus and software NEC Spectraview.

Thank you in advance for help with this.

Very well, you can try disconnecting a few of those who come to try to limit.  I would particularly look at the 2 printer, the Nokia and the Skydrive as prime suspects.  We have noted problems with the phones and readers in the past, clouds so that they are definitely worth it.

  • Lightroom CC crashes when opening preferences (Windows 10)

2015.5 CC Lightroom started crashing when I try to open the preferences. Ideas?

    Thank you

    John

Thanks John. The back of the trace is very useful.

In this case, Lightroom attempts to retrieve the path of the file system to the "My pictures" folder that is associated with your account on your computer local Windows and somehow he failed and could not retrieve the path.

Is there something unique about your installation? After doing some googling, I found this missing repair Windows 7 user records | Scottie Tech.Info that may be useful.

  • 6.3 Lightroom (Mac) freezes when importing

    Hi all

Due the fact that Apple has stopped development of opening I had to do a switch after several years of feeling 100% comfortable with an opening. After some research, it became clear that most of the people would recommend Lightroom. So I bought a copy.

Import of my opening book is very well and included all my projects and notes (very important!). So far so good.

Now, I tried to import photos newly shot of my Nikon D7100. Tried with the cable. Tried with the SC card in my Macbook Air. Lightroom still freezes when importing or is back with the 'message' that none of the pictures could be read.

Returned to the opening. Connected to the camera. Quick import and 100% OK.

I can't believe that Adobe releases a new version with such a major problem... Very frustrating... want my money back!

Can anyone help? Is that a known issue - the fixes proposed in the forums don't work not (import options)? Will there be an update to Lightroom soon?

    Thank you!

    Config:

-Macbook Air 2012, 1, 7GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB RAM, 480 GB SSD Jetdrive (45 GB free event with library, Aperture and Lightroom to 150 GB each)

    -Mac OS 10.11.2

    -Adobe Lightroom 6.3

Yes, please try to import images to another location.

Also, make sure that you have read and write access on the location where you import the images.

You will need to take up with the red giant / Trapcode. That being said, C4D outputs simply crappy OBJ files. Download Blender, open your file in there and export it again as an OBJ file much better.

  • CS5.5 / Win: Indesign crashes when importing an rtf file

    Hello

My plugin crashes when importing an rtf file. Most rtf work very well, but it's not OK. If I try to import Indesign crash. Also if I try to manually place in Indesign.

I think that something is wrong in the rtf, but I can open it in Word.

    Any ideas what to do?

Can I perform a check in advace?

By the way: I can't save my RTF presets in Indesign. No idea why?

    Thank you

    Hans

    Hello

It does not work without my plugin. InDesign crashes also without it, if I placed the RTF manually.

In the meantime, I found a sequence in my RTF which is the cause of the accident. I fixed that manually, and after that I could import the RTF. It seems that it is a problem of the RTF import filter.

The uncorrected RTF was imported to Indesign CS3, after that it crashes (CS4, CS5, CS5.5).

    Thank you

    Kind regards

    Hans

  • Lightroom CC 2015.3 crashes when importing

Since I've upgraded to version 2015.3, I can import is more photos.  I tried to import from SD card and a hard drive, but both show the same failure.

    I am running Windows 7.

First of all, when I start the import process, the display of the grid does not display previews of new photos.  If I double-click on a photo, he will show me the preview in full screen.  It shows previews of older photos I've already imported.  But in the grid, the new photos are all white.

Then, I select copyand allow to Rename the files as I always do.  When I click on the import button, I get the screen of importation, that says "import...". "The status bar in the top left says" copy and import photos ", and the progress bar starts about 2/3 full.  It remains there, but no matter how long wait.  Occasionally, I get a handful of imported photos, but most of the time, no pictures are imported.

When I give up and click on the X to cancel, a popup says, "no photos or videos not found to import.

I also supported my catalog, thinking that the optimization step might help.  But it did not help.

I also tried to import into a new catalog, but that did not help.

To hang when importing - Lightroom Forums, I found:

Hi, I encountered the same problem with LR 6.3 autonomous and it fixed when I connected in Adobe Creative cloud before running Lightroom.

I started the creative application of Cloud, and I was not signed in.  I registered, and the import was successful.

So I think that was the problem: I was not connected to the cloud to create, at least as far as the cloud app was concerned.

    Hi sebastiang,.

See the minimum system requirements is 1 024 MB or 1 GB and yours is only 64 MB, which does not meet the minimum system requirements

So to use the graphics card in LR, you will need to buy a better graphics card with a minimum of 1024 MB VRAM or 1 GB

  • Lightroom crashes when importing, iPhone a trigger

The latest version of Lightroom CC, 2015.2.1, continues to be unstable, crashing constantly, taking usually Windows desktop down with it requiring a reboot of the entire system.

The import module and its new GUI seems to be a trigger for this behavior. By clicking import, sometimes LR crashes immediately without displaying the import screen, sometimes he half-displays the screen to import as a transparency on the normal screen then freezes and sometimes the import screen becomes fully visible but then more often as otherwise LR and the crash even when Windows desktop.

Although this behavior may happen at any time, try to import photos from an iPhone ensures a fatal full system shutdown.

2015 Lightroom versions have all been more unstable than previous versions. These problems seem to be centered around video issues. I have an AMD Radeon graphics card and had to rollback repeatedly last year drivers (as well as uncheck LR graphics options) for LR to work. And each new version of LR seems to require to start from scratch to get the program, the operating system and graphics card all talk to each other. This time, they're not talking.

Adobe, what do you think? Similar problems are reported on the net.

Any help with this mess is greatly appreciated.

    Hi ejbSFO

    Greetings!

Although this behavior may happen at any time, try to import photos from an iPhone ensures a fatal full system shutdown.

If the accident is specific to the iPhone, it is because Lightroom performs an analysis of all the devices where the pictures would be. He has the problem where it cannot correctly identify a smartphone as a "hard disk". So, if you set your iPhone to connect as a support MTP device. The question could not arise.

2015 Lightroom versions were more unstable than previous versions

You can restore the version 2015.1.1. Refer to restore an earlier version of update

  • 4.2 Lightroom crashes when importing

I recently moved 4.2 Lightroom to my new PC in Windows 8. All modules work fine except when trying to import from my card or my PC drive, then the program grinds stops and crashes often. Program worked fine on my old Windows Vista system. The only things I moved from Vista PC were photos, Lighroom catalog file and Lightroom preference file. Support Adobe suggests trying to run Lightroom to different user on my PC, I tried, but no difference. If it makes a difference, LR is loaded on my C: SSD drive and photos, catalog, etc. on my D: drive. Any thoughts?

    64-bit Windows 8

256Go SSD SRT (C: drive with programs) and hard drive 2 TB SATA (D: drive with data)

    4.2 Lightroom

UPDATE. Finally, I've identified the problem. One of my printers (Epson RX 620) has a card reader that was apparently originally a Windows conflict. As long as the printer is disabled when I import pictures, all right.

  • Lightroom crashes when importing desktop image

I have LR 2015.6.1 on an iMac. Import from a SD card works fine. But when I try to import an image from my office (a simple JPG), LR crashes. I have to force quit LR and kill a process called "dynamiclinkmediaserver" to get everything back to normal.

Someone at - it an idea about it? Thank you.

    Hi LexvanOorspronk,

Could you please check what is the destination on when you import from office?

Also, try to create a new catalog and see if the problem is reproducible.

    Kind regards

    Assani
