Lightroom, freezing, import not, etc, etc.

Sigh... so here are my questions. Lightroom CC (version 2015.2.1) gives me a headache and a heart attack. When you import pictures from a card in the catalog on that not all images copy... or there are errors... or what you have. I have try several times to get everything going on above. Sometimes the files is "not found" or there is some kind of error... and I re - import the images in question. This happened about a month or two. In addition, the program crashes. Freezes when I'm working on an image. Freezes when I scroll through the records. Freezes when I try to select a module. This happened about a month or two.

I unchecked the box GPU. I have reset the preferences. I said a silent prayer that it isn't my hard disk storing all my photos this is the problem (I'll buy a new one, just in case).

I don't know what else to do and I'm more frustrated by what is happening. Lightroom can run like a dream (on my MacBook Pro), and in recent months, it is now a nightmare.

Someone please give me some advice!

Suggest you follow the steps below:

1. go in the Lightroom preferences > General > disable photo screen add

2 preferences > performance > make sure GPU is disabled

If this is not enough, you may need to restore CC2015.1.1 Lightroom for now because there are a few problems going on with out 2015.2 being developed on.

    There is a problem with your installation of OS X. The easiest way, but not the fastest way to fix it is to reinstall the operating system. Unless you are in a hurry or have measured access to the network, it is what I suggest, especially since I don't know if there are any problems with the installation. Please backup all data before reinstalling. You won't need the backup unless something is wrong.

    The below, advanced shortcut if it works, can save you some downtime (and the cost of a download of several gigabyte, if necessary.)

    1 back up all data.

    2. disconnect all external storage devices.

    3. start in recovery mode. Select a language, if you are prompted. The OS X Utilities appears. One of the options is to install OS X. This is not what you do.

    4. This step is only necessary if you use FileVault 2. If you don't know what's FileVault, you use it. Go to the next step. Otherwise, launch utility disk, then select the icon for the volume FileVault ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name.) It will be nested under another icon of the disc. Select open in the file menu and enter your login password when you are prompted. Then quit disk utility must be returned to the main screen.

    5. Select get online help. Safari will launch. While in recovery, you will have no access to your Favorites, but you won't need them. Load this web page.

    6. triple - click anywhere in the line below to select this option:

    chflags -R norestricted /V*/*/S*/*/Caches

    Copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination.

    7. Quit Safari. You go back to the OS X Utilities screen.

    In the menu bar, select

    Utilities ▹ Terminal

    Launch the Terminal application. Paste in the Terminal window by pressing the command-V key combination.

    Wait for a new line ending with a number sign (#) to appear. Quit the Terminal must be returned to the main screen.

    8. Select

    ▹ Restart 

    in the menu bar.

    9. This step must be performed after the restart, and while you are logged as administrator, not in recovery mode. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

    Select and copy this line as in step 6:

    sudo /usr/libexec/xpchelper --rebuild-cache

    Paste in a Terminal as before. You will be asked for your login password. Nothing displayed when you type. Type carefully, and then press return. If you do not have a password, you will need to configure one before you can run the command. You can get a warning to be careful. Confirm. You don't need to display the warning.

    If you see a message that your user name "is not in the sudoers file", then you have not logged as an administrator. Log in as one and repeat this step. You don't have to repeat the previous steps.

    Wait for a new line ending with a dollar sign ($) below what you entered.

    10. make as in step 9 with this line:

    sudo /usr/libexec/*/app_sandbox_cache_builder --rebuild-cache

    You can then quit Terminal.

    I try to import a folder full of photos that I had scanned a few years ago as 120 film .tif files on my Imacon. My research told me that there are 256 items (images) in the folder, but only 11 appear in Lightroom CC import window. Any idea what's going on here? I never had problems to import files from the scanner before.

    The file names have a TIFF extension.  Needs an extension, Photoshop Lightroom does not.

    Your use of the word "files" (in the plural) still makes me believe that you have not checked the permissions on the folder that is appropriate (in the singular).

    You must determine the Destination of the Lightroom Import dialog window Panel and see which folder Lightroom is really tr6ing to copy photos in (which may have been accidentally changed and is not what you may have used in the past) and change the permissions to write to this folder.

    The file seems to be corrupted:

    Basically, you have < rdf.li > gibberish instead of gibberish , so there are two end tags in a row without the intervention of the opening tag.

  • Lightroom 3 does not import images with all the parameters used in camera

    I just upgraded to lr3 and import pictures from my Nikon D5000 in RAW format.

    I shot a bunch of images in monochrome mode on my camera with my contrast, sharpness and other parameters adjusted to my liking.  When I import into lightroom on the thumbnails, they seem to be that I shot them in black and white.  But if I click on the image in develop it converts in color and seems to remove my settings changes I had made in my camera.   I tried to click on black and white and it converts into a monochrome pure with any of my settings or the other.

    How can I tell lightroom to import images as-is and not change them unless I specifically choose changes to develop?

  • Lightroom cc2015 import error "could not copy a file to the requested destination.

    My Lightroom will import is more pictures.  Images will come when card is in, import starts then the error message appears.  I transferred pictures on the desk in the new folder and got the same message when you try to import the pictures in the folder.  Then I reformatted the SD card, again made test photo and tried to import with the same results.  There was an update with my CreativeCloud, Lightroom was updated to version lasted once again with the same results.  Shutdown... computer blah blah, nothing has changed.  Shooting with Nikon 7200, working on a MacBook Pro, Lightroom CC 2015

    I have found similar problems online but haven't found any resolution.

    Change the destination folder in the import image window.

    Should be able to import images.

    Since the update on lightroom cc I can't use it.

    Whenever I do an operation, the screen freezes, and I have a message on the top that tells me that lighroom does not.

    I have a computer on windows 7, an ssd 512 GB one processor i7 3770K, a radeon 6970 graphics card, 8 GB of ram etc...

    Finally normally not configuration problem my graphic card driver is up-to-date!

    Try the following procedures.

    First, back up the % appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences directory, in order to come back in the event of problems.

    Bottom sure Lightroom is to.

    First test:

    as suggested in the thread common Lightroom freeze with GPU , modify the %appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs file with a text editor and change the line

    useAutoBahn = true,

    en

    useAutoBahn = false,

    and restart Lightroom.

    Not if this doesn't work, on the second try: preferences to erase.

    In % appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences, erase files (by rappelling on a kept a copy) and start Lightroom.

    My own Lightroom 6 does not appear to be updated.  I started using LR with version 1 and bought updates of all versions since then and each version update whenever an update is released.  before version 6.0 of this cycle of updating going on unhindered.  With LR 6, I tried all the updates to version 6 of loading, but no update seems to have occurred.  with each update (v. 6.1, 6.2, etc.) I would go into the update exercise, apparently without problem, the uploader stated my software adobe software has been successfully updated, but when I check the version number then there always shows version 6.0.  This remains the case until today.  any suggestions?

    I am running Lightroom on an iMac and spin the latest version of mac OS.

    Please make sure that Lightroom is far, i.e. Lightroom 5.7.1.

    Also, please copy the images from the card, and then paste them into a folder on the desktop and then try and import them into Lightroom.
