Lightroom4 does not open catalog ext hardrive-Mac

I just downloaded and installed the lr4 on my imac. I got the beta version and everything worked well. my project, previews and images on an external hard drive. I'm going to open lr4 and it says "Lightroom cannot open the catalog named"A_Hazlewood Lightroom Catalog"located on the 'Photos' volume, because Lightroom can't save the changes to this place."  Why is this? the beta version has been working great. I have not changed anything. Help?

It is a problem of permission... on the extern drive are you sure that you as an admin and read/write? If you order I have on the reader, what are your settings? Unless you have a good reason, I would fix the reader to Ignoreownership on this volume. You could also an fix the permissions on the main drive using disk utility.

I got a new Mac and have not been able to open FF. I just got this message: "unable to load your firefox profile. It may be missing or inaccessible.

I followed all the advice available. I have no profile manager. I have no folder in my library, utilities, Applications or users with a profile.ini I can't find folders or documents anywhere with Firefox or Mozilla other than the app itself... which does not open.

I deleted Firefox to my computer entirely, reinstalled, rebooted the computer - everything. I always get this message.

    Would appreciate some advice.

It is clear that there is a problem with the permissions, then you will need to check and possibly fix corrupted files permissions to the location where the main Firefox profile folder and where are stored the file cache.

    • < User > /users//Library/Application Support / Firefox/Profiles/< profile >.
    • /Users/ < user >/Library/Caches / Firefox/Profiles/< profile > / Cache
  • Dreamweaver does not open on the new Mac

Dreamweaver (adobe creative suite cs6) does not open on my new macbook pro with 10.9.4 installed operating system. After having bought the MBP, I used time machine to transfer most of my files and programs on the new computer. Adobe has not transferred since the last backup to the new computer, because I think that I unchecked as a backup application. I had some problems with a small external hard drive. All other adobe software opens fine.

Description of the problem: Dreamweaver bounces on the dock bar after I double click top in the application folder. It bounces for a few seconds, then disappears. No error message, nothing.

What I did to try to fix the problem:

    (1) Uninstall: I completely uninstalled and re-installed dreamweaver independently. Who could not solve the problem. I also uninstalled and reinstalled adobe creative suite. Which also failed.

    (2) after the other suggestions in the forum, I created a guest user account. The guest user account CAN open dreamweaver without any problem. After you open the program save a site Web etc. I switch back to my account main and dreamweaver will still not open. There must be some parameters which carried over from the backup that does dreamweaver crash.

    (3) support content remove application: in the original of my previous computer application backup support files contained cs5 included for software adobe (including dreamweaver). I deleted this content... He could not solve the problem.

    (4) reinstall OSX: has not fixed the problem.

    (5) delete all the content on the hard drive, reinstall OSX AND then I used a backup with only my settings computer, files or documents and excluded all the previous computer applications. It did not work too.

  • Lightroom does not open catalog

    Hi all:

Help, please. New to this forum. Using Lightroom 2.2 on Mac.

I had to do a reboot after a frost, and then I got the message:

The catalogue called lightroom Lightroom 2 catalog cannot be opened because it is another application already opened. Leave the other copy of Lightroom before trying to launch.

I can open my first catalogue but not the catalogue in question (I had just loaded with several hundred images). I reloaded lightroom program and reinstalled (irdata Catalog.Ircat and catalog Previews.) from my backup disk. I have saved on my backup disk images, but not in my catalog.

Suggestions as to how I can reopen the catalog or is it fried?

    Thank you
    George

    George,

When Lightroom opens a catalog file, it creates a "lock" file in the same directory as the catalog. When you have had your accident, has not deleted the file. All you need to do is to find and delete it and everything will be fine, probably. :)

  • Mac Mini - Finder does not open

I have a Mac Mini with os x 10.10 2014.  The boot disk was almost full and the finder does not open.  I open the iPhoto and deleted the pictures and then empty the trash in iPhoto.  By logging in as a different user, I see I have ~ 1 GB of space, but when I log on my main account and admin the finder does not always open.

I read that it was a known issue:

    http://forums.MacRumors.com/threads/Finder-doesn.

It is said to remove the .plist files, but I can't get to Terminal to do.

    Please advise, thank you!

    Edmund

If you were able to connect as another user, the issue is not lack of storage - this is the same computer.

Yes, your .plist file may be corrupt, or you could have an extension conflict that affects only your user account.

Try the start mode by holding down the SHIFT key at startup. Secure boot is quite slow because the operating system does a lot of cleanup and verification tasks, so give it time. Once you're completely connected, restart normally.

  • Change of privilege HD now Mac Mail does not open

    Couple of questions, self-inflicted:

I changed the privilege HD read-only for everyone no access and then click on "apply to the included items. I released on bail after a few minutes, change my mind with a reboot. I now get the re-boot, the pop-up "library should be rebuilt to open applications. I keep having to enter my PW for this.

In addition, Mac Mail now does not open. It is a big problem and I don't know where to start.

I repair permissions. Is there an easy way to return to the previous default permissions and privilege by default to make things work as they were before?

Can you make a different Get Info and change everyone else read-only?

First try and see if that fixes the Mail. If this is not the case, here are a few ideas more troubleshooting.

    Try a reboot.

Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in system preferences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolate a problem by using a different user account

If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

Would suggest you to run Photoshop with the SHIFT key and click Yes to skip loading additional plugins and check if it works very well.

    • What version of Photoshop are you using?
    • Operating system: mac or windows?
    • It is the first launch or it was working fine before?
