lining up guests in several dashboard data sources / analysis

Hi all

I need to create a dashboard multi-source with several queries and analysis pointing to different datamarts through several business sector. These datamarts share common dimensions but prompt values can be passed from one subject to another sector. The only thing I've found is to duplicate prompted controls such as the button drop-down list and radio, then pass the values selected with variables of presentation as default values.
Problem is, once selected, controls duplicate values cannot be cleaned, redefinition and initialized again with different values.

Does anyone know of a clever way to reset the values of the quick controls without having to manually click on the reset button? Or another way to manage this multi source dashboard / queries?

Any help appreciated.

• Connect to multiple data sources

Hello

We have a requirement of our ADF application for the request of several databases and therefore several JDBC data sources.

Now, I set up the application according to this white paper:

http://www.Oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/HOWTOs/10G/usingdatasources/using_datasources.html

But it works for a data source. How can I make my ADF BC connect to different sources of data/databases dynamically in the application?

Thanks in advance,

• BI Publisher & dynamic data source

Hello

We try to have one OBI/EE configuration serve several application pre-production environments with mostly identical database schemas.

There is a pool of dynamic connections in BI Server, its data source, the value of a session variable ([see here | http://hekatonkheires.blogspot.com/2009/10/obiee-101341-dynamic-data-source.html]). It works very well.

Now a BI dashboard has a BI Publisher report on it against this dynamic data source. This is equivalent to shouting to the editor and Publisher to recall of presentation services. The session data source variable is lost in the process.

Is there a way of sessions between services of presentation and publication of sharing or otherwise passing session here and there, variables such as URL parameters?

Thanks in advance,

Dirk.

HY,

I never try but here I think.

The integration settings between BEEP and OBIEE is made via the guest of dashboard.

If you use a response as a data source in the TWEET, you normally have no problem.

If you use a SQL query as a data source, you must:
* Add a command prompt with a default of your session (for the dynamic connection) variable
* use it in your sql as a bind variable for a schema or a database link.

• "BOLD" is supported by two streams of source with data source?

I created a data source with two streams of source - one for audio and one for video. During the init data source, the streams of the two sources are created. When dataSource.start () is called, my application call start() of the two source Brooks. When the player calls getStreams(), the soft returns an array containing the two water courses.

However, once started, the player only calls the first stream's read() method. In other words, the read() method second flow is never called.

Are several stream source by source of data supported by RIM, in particular on "BOLD"? I tested on v4.6.0.304 9000 "BOLD".

Thanks for your thoughts/aid.

It is not supported.

• Test 12 c WLS data source...

I have properly configured the Datasources and focused it on the server. The servers are running, connection pool is very good, target data sources are fine. Yet, I don't see the list of servers in the source of data-> monitor-> test view.

In addition,

Service = server.getJDBCServiceRuntime)

DataSources = service.getJDBCDataSourceRuntimeMBeans () returns an empty list for the server as well... (there are several sources of individual data - in other words, no multi or Hellnation)

What Miss me?

Well, he works today. A colleague told me that he could do with a change to the URL jdbc that had to be made. But we are not 100% sure if it was restarting or both... The problem is resolved. Thank you.

• WebLogic ResourceLimitException with the JNDI data source

I deployed a third web application on my Weblogic Server and this application connects to the Oracle database using the JNDI data source that I defined in my weblogic server. Now, while I use the web app, I don't see any problems and after accessing the request for some time, it throws an exception like below-

weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceLimitException: No resources currently available in pool test_db to allocate to applications, please increase the size of the pool and retry.. caused by: weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolLimitSQLException

I have increased the size of the pool earlier and I do not use the web app for a few hours, then when I started to use it, then I get this error. How can I debug this problem using my Weblogic Server? Is there a log file which contains details on why all connections are still used?

It could be connection leak problem and haveInitialCapacity and MaxCapacity the same value(higer).

Enable TestConnectionsOnReserve and check.

Selectinactive-connection-timeout-seconds to check for the connection leak.

Hope this helps.

Debug JDBC and Debug JDBC Connection would give more information on the issue, make sure you increase the logging severity as well.

• Planning application data source.

Hello

I have worked on planning for 2 years and never stumbled on this problem or questions. I created a single planning data source and installed a smaple application now, I want to create a new application of my own and try to use the same data source I used for the sample application, but its does not give me an option.

Is it because you have to have a unique data source for each planning application? can I create several data source using the same schema details? I spent by the Administrator's guide, but has failed to find any information regarding my questions.

Any help is greatly apericiated.

Thank you

You could have sought this forums of https://forums.oracle.com/message/4283797#4283797 (I remember a recent post too)

Answer is no, you can not use the same source of data because the information is captured in the system of planning and this is the reason why it does not show you the source of data that is used.

HYP_SYSAPPLICATION and HYPSYS_DATASOURCE contains the values (APP_ID for each application) and DATASOURCE_ID for each data source

• Allow the application to start with one or multiple data sources, failing to connect?

I have a Spring application that connects to several databases at the start, through JEE definitions referenced via JNDI datasource. Some of these databases sometimes go offline for various reasons. If the application is running at the time, it is not really dangerous, because of the way the application is designed. However, if I try to start the server if the database is offline, the application fails to deploy. Is it possible I can configure data sources not to block the deployment of the application if the database is offline or the application?

Hello. You can ensure that your datasources WebLogic deployment, even if the DBMS (es)
be down in time, specifying the initial capacity of each source of data/pool equal to zero.

• stupid questions on the use of mds-GOSA/bip_datasource data sources.

Dear gurus,
I'm confused about the use of some as securities data sources.
And what is the relationship of them with RPD source data/connection pool setting?

As I found in the turning performance guide, while I can't find where is the caller / user of these data sources and never mentioned turning guide turning data sources RPD which I think is more important...

So I think I must have Miss understanding of something, need your help!

Michael

Hi Michael,

The data sources mds-GOSA/bip_datasource etc. are for the weblogic server access to the metadata of Fusion Middleware.

If you remember, we had used the RCU to create a repository of information of configuration settings, host of Fusion Middleware /product information/versions etc in a separate database, and these data sources are created in weblogic, and the different products that we install, in this case OBIEE/RTD/BIPublisher etc. can interact between them, transparently and through weblogic.

Since then, it is the common platform (application server) on which all products have been deployed, it is necessary that we tune elsewhere too for optimal performance from the Infrastructure point of view.

Now, the connection pool of the physical layer in our .rpd is all about access to data, and so the setting guide does not, in this regard because it is completely dependent on the type of data source, network interfaces of appeal, not concurrrent users, total dashboards, reports etc etc which is dependent demand.

The setting guide is all about the setting of the Middleware Infrastructure + optimal settings for middleware (middleware) only.

Hope that I was clear.

Thank you

• BI Publisher for OBIEE data sources

I know that BI Publisher can be part of an OBIEE Dashboard using a query OBIEE answers as the source data for the BI Publisher report. My question is if a BI Publisher report can have one data source other than an OBIEE answers such as a custom SQL query and still be part of an OBIEE dashboard? If possible, no matter what version of OBIEE and BI Publisher is used?

Thanks for information of nay you can provide on this subject.

Hello

data source other than a request for responses OBI can be included in a dashboard OBIEE.
Using the dashboard objects, we can call the BIpublisher report in the dashboard.

• Text file data source.

I have a requirement to retrieve data from a text file.
I know it is possible to use a text file as a data source, but there are some limitations on the number of records? or a performance problem?
We are talking of at least 2 million records.
Thaks!

What shud not be a problem, but as a designer for this large number of documents... Try filling a Table Oracle sourcing this txt file and then use this table as a source. You will have several options then to improve the performance of BI.

Hope its clear

• what I do wrong to the data source?

Sorry, I looked around to try to find the answer to this, and I could not.

I have two web applications. One, 'Locations', has a list of addresses for several stores, with tags such as {location_street_address}, {location_phone_number}. Another web application, "StoreGallery", holds elements of demonstration to these stores, and in it I set places as a data source field. So that for each article, they can associate an element with a specific store.

In the details of StoreGallery template so I added one of the places tags, thinking by after you set the data source, the tags one could work in the other, but they do not. I was able to find tutorials on how to create the data source field, but not on how to actually apply them in models.

Hi Kenneth,

The current version of the web apps does not work like that.
When you define a data store that makes just provide a link to the other element of web app that you associate. You can't put tags that you built from a web app in another.

The release of data source which is a hypertext link is the only thing you have.

• List of default data Source is only the list of JDBC data sources

I have several defined JDBC data sources and have added a few sources of data file. But when I look at the report of a new report properties page, the default data Source drop-down list only JDBC data sources, none of the sources of data file. I tried clicking on the link "Refresh Data Source list", but it doesn't seem to do anything.

I'd be able to see my file data sources in the Data Source by default list? I the role of the admin, it should not be a security thing. I give my data file sources a role, and I also have that same role.

Thanks for any help.

Hello
The default data source drop box contains only jdbc sources. You must create a new data source, type the file, and then choose the file directory, you have set up and then enter the name of the file. At this point, the default data source is ignored. Weird, I know, but it's like this: 0)

• Storage of the client in the SQL data source fails all of a sudden

After performing several Windows 2008 security updates last night, one of the sites started throwing errors related to access to the client storage database, which is the default value as defined by the CF Administrator:
coldfusion.runtime.ClientScopeDBException: operation failed on the source of data DATA source NAME.
Reason of failure java.security.AccessControlException: access denied.

Most of our sites use this data source for storage of client, and none of them have the problem.
Editing the file Application.cfm to use clientstorage = "cookie" got the site up.
I then added a NEW data source to the list of storage Client and set the Application.cfm file to use instead.
This works. As sson as I remove the Application.cfm file clientstorage attribute, the site breaks.
Short to reboot the server (which happened last night after the updates), I restarted IIS all related services.
Any ideas?

Java security error, huh? You know, I had missed that in your first note. (He says he is, "reason for failure java.security.AccessControlException: access denied".)

I'm starting to wonder now: what is a CF Enterprise Deployment? It is configured (in the CF Admin) to use what is called "Security Sandbox"? If so, the problem might be that this one app is in a sandbox that has not been configured to access the DSN. Sandboxes are configured for all code running in a given directory (and its subdirectories), which would explain this work for everyone, but this one.

Purging of customer data is quite drastic, if data are important for your application. I recommend you try this if you have a little more time.

If you're reading this I would like to learn more about Sandbox security, in addition to the docs, you can read more in some articles that I did for the Dev Center a few years previously, to http://www.adobe.com/devnet/security/articles/sandbox_01.html and http://www.adobe.com/devnet/security/articles/sandbox_02.html. While it was written in the period of CF6, it still applies to the 7 and 8.
