  If you want to restrict the VMS to migrate to some hosts there is a work around.

  Create portgroup VM additional network on the hosts that you want to be allowed and connect VM to present portgroup.

  Acrobat Pro is certainly not the right tool for editing. You want to change the manual using the source - MS Word files for example. Once you have the full changes including OCD work as you want, Acrobat Pro is the tool to convert the source document to PDF format, and ensure the accessibility requirements of 508 - and preferably ISO 14289 (PDF/UA) - are met.

  I am writing a script to shutdown gracefully all the VMs on a specific host.  I can make it work very well by connecting directly to the host with:

  Get - esx myesxhost-user root - password password

  stop-vmguest *.

  that works really well. But what I want to do is to connect via VC to use accounts AD rather than use root host accounts.

  so:

  to connect-viserver (or get - vc) myvcserver-user me-password password

  stop-vmguest *-Server myesxhost

  makes me an error saying "cannot bind parameter 'server'. Could not convert "myesxhost" to "VMware.VimAutomation.Types.VIServer."

  I looked around and found some info when you are connected to the VC, a host does not count as a "Server" when you use the - Server parameter. Or something like that. I'm new to scripting so apologies if I'm doing it wrong.

  So I tried something that I found on the forum here, where you create a variable for $server that is bound to a host

  $server = get-vmhost myesxhost

  And then I tried:

  stop-vmguest *-Server $server

  and I get the same error as above, including the correct host name. So, I know that I managed to create $server, but apparently this is not the right solution to the problem.

• Host NIC ports separated from NAT in workstation Pro 12

  I'm trying to setup a single NAT connected to a NIC port. The reason for this is I need the other NIC port to run the host machine, but not have it included with the NAT as the other port of the NETWORK card is connected to a VPN that I need NAT to connect with.

  I solved my problem. Initially, I was creating persistent static routes. For some reason, it did not work. I created them as non-persistent static routes and I was able to exercise the functions that I had on other subnets via comments. I created a batch file to run on starting of the host so that the roads will always be there. I think that adding additional features for the environment NAT to allow to separate multiple network cards on a host computer would not be a difficult task for VMware Workstation as a NETWORK on vSphere host ports or other products can be manipulated more easily.

  We have 2 esx host currently is ESX4, the other is ESX3.5 (sson be ESX4), we have a direct vswitch which is connected to a switch with 2 uplinks, everything works OK.

  We have another 2 ports on each host that we use to create a unique vswitch used as an internal network. Here's the conencted directly to each other with 2 cables NOT connected to a switch. These NICS have negotiated the correct speed one look d OK, but if I put a virtual machine on each host attach it to the switch with internal uplinks and give them an IP address on the same beach that they cant ping each other

  I know it's a strange config. I can not connect these "internal" uplinks to a switch are we charge £20 per month per 1 GB port which = £80 per month!

  You may need to use a cable crossed in this scenario.  You should also be able to reach speeds of 1 GB, with a connecting Cat5e cable - I would check that it's been wired correctly!

  What is your host and guest operating system? Are WHAT NIC configured correctly (IP, DNS, gateway, etc.).

  Just open chrome with the link desired as a command line parameter.

  You could also create a link send worms to chrome and open right clink the link and choosing the send to the target.

  The best and most of the time the only way to recover the info is through the interface of the CIM.

  Is there a way to limit a virtual computer to a specific set of hosts in a cluster?

  I have created some DRS rules to separate and solidarity with virtual machines, but can not find a way (when it exists) to keep VMs locked to a set of hosts in a cluster.

  For example.

  8 guests: 6 with 16 GB of RAM and 2 with 32 GB of RAM

  2 development servers that will use 8 GB RAM each

  I want to force the dev VMs. 2 to migrate only between 2 hosts 32 GB while allowing the other VMS migrate freely among all the guests.

  Any ideas or suggestions are welcome

  DRS work in the field of the cluster, so there is no way actually lock VMs subset within the cluster

  If the creation of a separate cluster is not an option, a solution would be to keep the level of automation for those virtual machines to partially automated and then apply that recommendation which moves them to the desired hosts. Not a very optimal solution but it always work for non-critical virtual machines
