  • Image links missing when I open an indesign file on Mac, which was created under Windows (drive network and local copy)

    Hello

    I have the following situation:

InDesign files are created from Windows-InDesignServer via a Plugin for automation.

All clients work with a Mac. When they want to open a file, the plugin copy the file from the network drive to a local folder and opens the copy.

But in this way, all the links to the images get lost.

    For example:

Windows - link of the original file:

    \\myNetworkDrive\Data\Brands\alfa.AI

Mac - path that is displayed in the indesign palette:

    /myNetworkDrive/data/brands/Alfa.AI

    HD:myNetworkDrive: Data: Brands:alfa.ai Macintosh

The interesting thing is, if I open the file on the network drive, InDesign on Mac is able to find the links via the Windows paths.

But as soon as I copy locally, links are missing.

Y at - it features to store both Windows and Mac-paths in the link?

Or a Url scheme that works for both platforms?

    ...

I wrote a small javascript which reconstructed the missing links, but this is only a workaround for me.

    Thanks in advance!

Create a symbolic link in the root directory did the trick:

    CD /.

    mkdir myNetworkDrive

    ln-s/Volumes/Data/myNetworkDrive

In this way, the NetworkDrive is accessible as if it were on Windows:

    CD/myNetworkDrive/Data /...

The only drawback is that it must be configured on each new customer. But that shouldn't be the problem.

    Hi Tony,.

I checked the documentation, the link to VM - FEX was removed from the (starting) UCSM 2.1 according to the design guidelines.

You can now download it directly from the link of the ORC.

It is published under the: Cisco UCS partner management software ecosystem-> VM - FEX Module for vSphere

  • Dashboard link missing for a user

We have LDAP configured, configuration using external table permission groups. Here's the question:

User 1 and user 2 both belong to group 1.

1 the user connects and is able to display the dashboard 1 link on top.

2 the user connects and is not able to see the dashboard only 1 my dashboard.

They have the same configurations and belong to the same group in the presentation server settings. Don't understand why its not able to recognize user 2.

    Please advise!

You can check if you have how access to the installation files.

For example. If your installation is like: -.

    / Shared/abc/def/_portal

where the portal has the inside dashboard, check if both users have the correct access to shared until the portal. A quick way to check that it must open a session as User2, navigate to the folder that contains the dashboard and see if you can see it there. If so, this indicates that your file privileges should be checked.

Not quite sure, if there is a problem here, it seems you've done an advanced installation therefore you oc4j containers 2, House and oc4j_soa. Home is used for stuff of Directors as the company Manager. The SOA Suite is installed in oc4j_soa. This is why you must read around the documentation, where ever see you reference to home, acting for oc4j_soa.

That been said you see the link to the db adapter in the oc4j_soa container?

If not, can you tell me if you are using Vista. There is a known issue with the upgrade.

If you want to install the DB adapter, run the following command

    java-jar deployeur admin_client.jar: oc4j:opmn://hostname:6003 / home oc4jadmin eu1-deploy - file $ORACLE_HOME\integration\esb\lib\DBAdapter.rar - deploymentName default DbAdapter-parent

you run this from the directory $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/bin

you will also need to substitute at home with oc4j_soa or the container that you want installed in. Change the host name to your machine name.

    see you soon

  • Link missing in the network browser OR

I use LabView 2011 with one NOR cRIO.  I used to be able to access the files on the cRIO using network browser OR.  Running the browser would be the cRIO to locate on the network and mark IP address with a hyperlink.  For some reason that the hyperlink is displayed, even if the cRIO is be the browser.  Any suggestions?  Thanx.

Make sure that the appropriate web services are installed to the target. "" In MAX, go to remote systems' name of your cRIO "software" Add/Remove programs. Select the appropriate version of real-time Module and version of RIO and click Next.

After this, you should see the configured software add-ons that you can select for installation. Those related to the configuration of the web are in the last section titled 'Web features'. Mainly, you will need the "Network Support Web browser" option (it will automatically select the excess when you select). If they are not installed, select and install them on your target.

The network browser NOR checks the target for this configuration option and transforms the IP address into a hyperlink if it is available.

It may be also useful to refresh the network browser OR and give him a moment to check the target.

  • [Req] script to update the links in Indesign using spotlight

    Hello

I have a challenge, can someone help me please?

I'm a graphic designer from Holland and I work with a lot of Indesign documents

which links are missing because they are displaced, so that they are some share on our server.

I have several scripts to connect the missing links, but they are slow,

because they each directory and in each subdirectory. It takes some time.

The apple search engine, Spot, is much faster.

So I think that I have this great idea, I thought about the following:

I select a missing link in the linkpanel in Indesign.

    Then I run the script.

The path of the missing link is copied and ready to just the name of the file

The name of the file is then copied to the Clipboard.

The script then opens the dialog window to repeat the missing link.

It the name of the image is pasted into the spotlight search engine.

    Here, the script stops.

Click the correct file (if there is more choises) and recreate it a link is done.

I think that this way of restoring links can be much faster.

And you can also work with predefined smart windows (to limit results), for example:

    -a witch only shows jpg

    -a witch only shows tiff

    -a witch only shows pdf

I know a very small little scripting, but this one I can't understand yet.

Can someone give me help please?

  • Fixing broken links

    Newbie using ID CS5:

I have to many broken links to images that I don't have, and I suspect that they are not used. The guy from the printer needs for me to fix all broken links, and I don't know how. How, in the name of Elvis, do you take a broken link on the links palette when you know that the image is no longer in use.

I'm not a guy ID; I'm just someone doing a favor. If someone could do me a favor and tell me how to do this, I might be able to put an end to this nightmare. And I will try to return the favor if I can.

Links are just pointers to an external file. By linking data image InDesing is able to keep the size of the reasonable document and the performance is acceptable. Average links missing tha the pointer is no longer valid and ID cannot find the file in the original location. This can happen for various reasons, in general is the file has been transferred to a new user who has no access to the location files original (and who is often accompanied by a failure to provide the linked files, during the transfer), or sometimes a person moves or renames something and the path is broken.

IF you have received all the files that are supposed to be related you can republish them and solve your problem. The easiest way is to put them in the same folder as the document and let ID find automatically when you reopen the doc. If you were not given these external files, you must go to the one who made the file and ask for them.

  • With the help of old Signature with BB10 keys

    Hello

I used to develop applications for the former BB OS (for example OS 7). Can I use old signing keys to sign BB10 apps?

If the answer is Yes, where can I find my .csj files?

If the answer is no, and I need to request new keys, I still be able to use the old Signature keys to develop applications for the former BB OS?

    Thank you!

Just to clarify, you cannot use your current for BB10 keys, if you need to request new keys.  In fact, the signing process is completely different.

When you ask for the keys, you can ask BB10 keys, keys BBOS or both, it's your choice.

I'm sorry, this link missed my last post.  If all goes well he will provide details too:
