I am currently using a Mac and I downloaded the Setup file of Windows 8.

OSGS14-WindowsSetupBox-32bitand64bit-English - 4141408.exe

I operate Windows 8 on my Mac, however, I fear that if one run the installer on another computer it will connect Windows 8 for this computer. Basically, I'll be able to transfer this Windows 8 to my Mac and run without Windows 8 related to the another computer?

You do not have to worry, simply use the Setup file for download and create a bootable Windows 8, if it's a. ISO file or a bootable copy on a Flash DRIVE or a DVD. Not connect it permanently to this computer, you are simply prepare in a format for installation.

It will connect to the computer is the activation of the product and you are no where near that.

Please note that you can not install Windows 8 in a virtual machine or on a blank hard drive since it's an upgrade. Only the full version of Windows 8.1 to do this. So be sure that you have the right license.

  • OK to transfer my Windows 7 on another computer after installation of Windows 10?

I have a desktop running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium and a six-year-old netbook under Windows XP. Of course, I will more in line with the netbook, because Windows XP is no longer supported and updated.

On my desktop, I received notice from Microsoft for inviting me to book a free upgrade for Windows 10 upon its release. Once I have 10 Windows on my desktop computer, can I use my Windows 7 installation disc to upgrade my netbook Windows XP to Windows 7?

    No, you can't.

Because the free update is derived from a license of Windows 7 basic qualification, Windows 10 will bring this type of license too.

If you are upgrading a retail version, it carries the rights to a commercial version.

You will need to purchase a full version Windows 10 license for your Netbook:

How much will cost Windows 10?

Windows 10 will be free for the first year to all users of Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and 8.1 of phone.

    Retail price of price information:

    Windows 10 home US $119
    Windows Pro 10 US $199

  • Windows Live Essentials is frozen during installation @ 75%. Live Update is not available. How do I fix this?

Windows Live Essentials 2011 has begun the process of update/install.  This part of the computer is just stopped or frozen to 75%.  It has been like this for days, while I searched for a way to stop or remedy the situation.  You can't just click on stop, it won't do anything.  Forgive me for being a novice.

When this "freeze" occurs, use the ALT + TAB key combination to cycle through open windows and see if there is a "hidden" window ask you a question about Windows Live Essentials 2011 (for example, you want to install all applications or only some?).

I have windows 7 on a 64-bit computer.  The Apple Mobile Device service does not start and displays error 1053.  I have run all diagnostic tests I can find and don't forget and downloaded all the updates.  My computer shows that there are no more updates.  The problem seems to be with Microsoft .net Framework.  The current version is 4.5 and iTunes wants to 4.0.  The problems seems to have occurred with the last update to iTunes because the program ran fine with version 4.5 of .net, but came short with 4.5.  Someone at - it figures out what to do?

I had the same problem. Two days ago, I downloaded iTunes 12.1 (64 bit) for older video cards (my laptop is only 3 years old) and it seems to work OK although I had to import albums from windows on iTunes because it had all my music. • Wipe the HD, do clean install Windows 7 - cannot detect HD during installation

    Hello

So basically I have Toshiba Satellite L305-s5908 and I wiped the full HD (use to have Vista on the laptop), and yes I copied everything on a HD external backup.  My problem is when I'm clean installation of Windows 7, it gets to a point where it asks 'where to install Windows 7', and it does not show my HD.  Now I'm stuck.    What to do?  Here's what I tired...

-J' looked for a driver for the HD, but Toshiba has not (at least I can't find it).  Other sites claim to have a 'pilot', but I'm afraid to download spyware or malicious software.

-what I have to reformat my HD wiped & then install Windows 7?  If so, what are the steps?

Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi all

    I got my problem solved.

With the help of another COMPUTER forum, I got my HD work and installation of Windows 7 made.  Long story short, I wiped my own HD (had Vista).  After the failure of it own, I discovered the 'C' was thought (via the command Diskpart) someone suggested I download and burn to a CD, a program called "GParted" (search with Bing).

GParted is a free partition editor to graphically manage your disk partitions.

With GParted you can resize, copy, and move partitions without data loss, so you can:

    • Grow or shrink your C: drive
    • Creating space for new operating systems
    • Attempt to rescue data from lost partitions

After starting with GParted, he went to work. As my HD was clean it took 5 to 8 minutes to complete.  Once GParted has been done, I inserted the Windows 7 installation CD.  Finally when he got to the screen "where do you want to install Windows?" my HD showed.  Finally!   What a relief!   After an hour, my old laptop was completely installed Windows 7.   I'm so happy that this has been resolved.

  • Windows Essentials 2012 seems frozen during installation.

My Windows Live Mail, not sure of the version or the year, suddenly began to fail on opening sometimes (irregular); So I decided to reinstall. I could not find on the Microsoft Download Site "Windows Live". I found Windows Essentials however.

I am running Windows 8 on an HP laptop. Intel Core i5; 6 GB of ram. Shut down other applications.

Possibly related: Windows Explorer, files, not THE Manager, sometimes fails. In particular, the creation of a new folder causes WE stop working. Do not know if the two are related; but generally allows for more information.

    I have automatic updates enabled.

I have run Norton 360, including the firewall. I had no problem to the current installation of the Norton software beyond applications insisting that I turned off my anti-virus. Windows Essentials did not ask me to do.

    A list of known issues.

Boot from the Windows 8 DVD or USB media that you created
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 8 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.
