  • Message outlook to PDF conversion: change the name of the default file to the time instead of the subject?

I have a large amout of email that I convert to PDF using a plug-in in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI through messages Outlook 2010.  I don't want a portfolio created, rather a single pdf file.  I've been open every message and conversion to pdf format, rename the file with date/time (subject line is the default file name), can I combine PDF mutiple files in a single document.  This process would go a lot faster if I could change the file name by default at the time, rather than rename them myself.  Does anyone have an idea on how to change this setting?  Or any other ideas to make this process easier?

    Hi melrogotzke,

In Outlook 2010, when you click on the tab 'Adobe PDF' there is an option "change Conversion settings.

In the present, uncheck the option "Output Adobe PDF portfolio when creating a new PDF file".

You can now select the mails in outlook and convert to PDF and all selected emails would get combined into a single pdf file.

  • Why the links in the Microsoft Outlook e-mail messages do not open Firefox?

FF 4.0b8 is my default browser and MS Outlook 2003 my default e-mail program. When I open an email with a link to a Web site and click on it, no. FF window is open. This problem did not exist with Internet Explorer.

As an alternative, I tried to copy the link in the email, but then, I find that he is unable to be glued on an open FF window either.

Although this behavior is very strange, I notice that you have a version of beta (Firefox) installed, which, by definition, is buggy - unless you test or that you are a developer you really use the latest stable version (currently 3.6.13, http://www.mozilla.org/).

Of course, I agree that a "bug" is not acceptable. Whereas it is difficult to help out here, it is impossible that Firefox users would agree to buggy software either (i. e. they won't have this behavior).

    Method 1:

Check if you have installed the update that is mentioned in this article.

Outlook Express 6.0 stops responding or closes unexpectedly and you may receive an error message "Microsoft Outlook Express has encountered a problem and needs to close"

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/898122

    Method 2:

Try to check for the problem in safe mode:

Start Outlook in safe mode starts Outlook without add-ins, the preview pane, or toolbar customizations and could indicate a profile damaged or conflicting third-party app or snap

    a. click Start.

    b. click run.

    c. type outlook.exe/safe.

I have an OS XP service pack 2, with outlook express.  My mail is in outlook express, but my wife gets his mail through yahoo.  We both receipt of emails from sereral from a friend with links to the url included in the e-mail.  When she clicks on these emails in his yahoo account link comes right up.  However, as a week ago, all the links that are in the mails that I opened in outlook express, they do more nothing when I click on them - no error message nothing.  Anyone has an idea why links open if I opened an email in yahoo but not if I open an email in outlook express?  And what could be the fix for this?  I never had this problem until about a week ago. Thank you.

This is common and can happen at any time. Often, the last point mentioned here is the fix.

  • When the Inbox is open, how not to keep the links to individual messages that have been read?

To read the content of a message, double click on the subject line of the message. Once read, the message gets so connected at the top of the screen, these are accumulated and must eventually be closed one by one. I'm sure that I have setup where the double line object by clicking to read the content of the message was not necessary. I can live with the double-click to read but have to close each message from the top of the screen link becomes tedious b/c, on which they accumulate on and. I explored the "display" options to deal with this and I tried to have a little, or not. Thank you for reading this.

You can activate the message pane by pressing F8 or by going to the Menu bar and selecting pane display-in page-Message.
Then when you single click a header to select the message appears in the messages pane.

After you open messages in tabs and neglect them close, you can right click on one of the message tabs and choose close other tabs and then use the x to close the last of them. This saves you from having to do one at a time. Or better yet, close the message tab after you read.
