Live wireless

I am unable to connect to the HP printer Officejet 6700 Premium to my Macbook Pro using "live wireless".

I turned on "live wireless" on the printer and inserted the password in the HP network that appeared on my computer but I can't print. The blue wireless flashing on the printer. I don't have a wireless internet connection, but if I understand correctly, you don't need with "live wireless".

Thank you

I understand that you want to customize the password direct wireless. Open a Web browser on a computer that is currently on the network printer (I know you have No internet), then in the address bar, type 192.168.223.1. This will launch the printer Embedded Web Server (EWS). Click the network tab, select live wireless, choose Edit settings, and you should see the option to customize the password here.

You can at any time see a certificate error when browsing through the integrated Web server, simply click no show do me this again and OK to continue.

Note: You need not Internet to do this.

Please let me know if that fixes the problem, thanks.

  • 4500 e all-in-one desire: hp envy 4500e with a wireless

I am trying to use an iPad with this printer and it does not work.  The ipad sees the printer as a separate connection and request a password. In other words, it appears as a separate as a neighbours internet access. I know that sounds like a problem with apple and we called them and they said some printers will act this way and need to be configured as such. My pc works fine with this network.

The printer may be in mode "live wireless", use the control panel of the printer and return to narmal mode.

    Hello

Another option if you encounter problems, make him print the password is disable password protection. You will be able to do in using of frontage on the printer and find the menu option that relates live wireless. When you find it, clear apssword protection.

Once the logic of direct apssword wireless is disabled you should be mean to connect the printer directly without the need of a password.

  • Use Direct wireless

I can't understand the use and intention live wireless. I have the name of my HP7520 and in the manual it says to "seek and connect" on behalf of live wireless.

How one search, and from a Smartphone, connect you to the printer? What tool or application is used to enter the name and connect?

Once connected, I use a mobile application to print. Can you give me an example of a print on an iPhone application?

Sorry for the confusion on this; I was able to print from my iphone using the email ePrint. I changed it to something a little more simple to encode and remember. I was also able to select the HP7520 for my iPhone routing documents.

Just can grasp the feature and use of Direct wireless (and without having to use a router (it is another point of confusion)). That make or where the router between to another printing image?

    Thank you!

Hi, as you have proved, the case of the main use for Direct wireless is to print wireless from your device to the printer without going through a router/access point. In your case, you have a WiFi network and have the printer connected direct wireless is very probably a feature that you can use it very often, except perhaps in the case of a problem occurring with your router (I hope that it won't happen).

Don't forget you can disable wireless directly from the Control Panel before printing and this will prevent the network printer to appear in the list of networks available on your mobile device.

    Best.

    Hello

If you try to connect your printer to the router, you should make sure that wireless Direct is trurned to offshore. Direct wireless is a feature that allows you to connect a device directly to your printer without router (the printer generates its own wifi)

Please turn off direct wireless (it's often a button on the front panel) and try to connect again.

I have included a link below for you rprinter support page that contains the user guides that should help also.

Why the laptop does not see the connect if the output of the printer wireless is disabled? Even if I check the box for this connection is not to be automatically connected to it will always connect when you turn on the laptop?

    Hello @richardbo,

Welcome to the Forums of HP and thanks for posting!

I understand that you have a problem with your devices wirelessly to the network that connects the printer e-all-in-one HP Officejet Pro 8610 automatically. I'd love to help you with this.

You are right on the assumption that the ethernet disables the ability of the printer to connect to a wireless network. However, the printer has a feature called live wireless. Basically, the printer will be broadcast a signal and act as a router so that you can connect devices directly to it. I suspect that's what devices are connected, then here are the steps which stops:

    1. On the homescreen of the printer, tap the Wireless live downstairs. ((Deuxième à gauche)
    2. Select settings.
    3. Select Direct wirelessand OFF.

Please reply to let me know if that solves the problem!

    Have a great day.

Thanks for your reply. But this option is not available in this printer. In the Photosmarts series, it worked like that.

You can change the password to a staff. This is possible if your connection to the printer with its IP address in a browser.

  • Print from 3rd generation iPad without internet HP Envy 4500 or 5530 or?

I'm trying to help a friend who is a senior and has no computer or ISP.  She will receive an iPad tomorrow 3rd generation that is wifi and cellular.  I'm trying to minimize its costs and to believe that she can manage with just cellular data for email little and surfing, she must do to keep in touch with his doctors due to health problems.  She tells me that she wants to be able to print.  With no wifi and no ISP (at least to start) and no way to connect an iPad to a printer with a cable, I searched for a way to print.

I came across a YouTube video where the guy he says he can print with certain HP printers on your iPad or your iPhone when in a vehicle and away from any wifi.  It calls the function in some printers HP called "direct print".  He referred to HP 5520.  I'm looking at HP 4500 or HP 5530.  I can't find references to "direct print".  Is there another name?  I read in the Forums of Apple that the Envy of printers range are capable of a direct impression of iPhones and iPads.  Is this true?

Then, before I have buy for my friend, I need to know if it is possible what I want to achieve.  She will be able to print directly to one of these printers (or anyone) by selecting it in the wifi network offers?

I tried to read the info on the HP website and there are references to send documents to the printer via a kind of HP Server, and even if this can work, it sounds more heavy for her.  She is a total newbie to computer and although I'm not, I have to be able to go home and raise his iPad and running and I want to give him a way to print.

It goes without saying that what she need is a printer/copier basic and inexpensive, and I'm hoping to get one for around $100...

    Thank you!

Hi there and welcome to the forum. The feature you are referring is called "Live wireless" and want 4500 both want 5530 have this feature. When a printer has a wireless direct printing capability means your WiFi (smartphone, Tablet, laptop) compatible devices can connect directly to your printer wireless network without using a wireless router or access point. This sounds like it would work perfectly in the case of your friend who has currently no ISP. Here is a link to a web page that says wireless direct printing in more detail http://www.hp.com/global/us/en/wireless/wireless-direct.html

I hope this information is useful and feel free to post on the Forum with other issues.

    Best.

  • HP Eprint and Android phone

I added the printer to the Hp ePrint app.  It appears in my list of wi - fi.  How can I remove it from this list?

If I select the printer, a pop-up asks me a password.  No matter what I enter, it does not accept it.  There is no way I can see to delete.

Hi darbfred, welcome to the Forums of HP. If your printer appears in the available WiFi connections after 2 hours of implementation, then you live wireless power. You can try the system menus of your printer, to disable wireless Direct. If you are having trouble finding it, let me know the model number of your printer and I'll find specific instructions.

  • How remove the name of the printer on Wi - Fi?

I have a laserjet M175 which I connected to my home Wi - Fi.  When I scan for local area networks with my phone (for example), I can see the printer as a wireless access point and it is not secure, it is open.  to work through the configuration of the network on the printer, I chose not 'open '.  so, how can I stop my printer being visible to anyone and everyone please?

    Hi RussCoulter52,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

The network that the printer is the broadcasting of (name of the printer) is a wireless direct connect. (ie. an ad hoc network, or peer-to-peer). That means that you must be with in the range of the printer to be able to see the network, more so with this network IF someone else has joined him, they would be able to print to your printer.

Now, to turn off this option, or add the security on the network printer, please follow the steps below.

    1. press on the key icon
    2. press on the right arrow key, until you see the network configuration Menu
    3. press OK
    4. press on the right arrow key, until you see live wireless
    5. press OK

Now you should see options to turn off wireless Direct, thus improving safety.

Please let me know if this procedure works for you.
