LKS LOOKOUT 4.5 files

Dear users, Experts,

I have the version 4.5 OR without files LKS lookout request. I am new to NI Lookout, but familiar with the DCS system.

Now, I need to update the request to add logic in existing NI Lookout project (4.5), but cannot find the LKS for existing Processfiles file. I tried the small economy of n amendment but LKS file is not generated.

Tell me the procedure to re - generate the LKS existing processfiles file.

Waiting for response from the forum community.

with the best regards.

No more ideas, perhaps one; you save your file to State (LKT) some were else? Is it possible that LKS is saved in the same location?

Are you sure that there is a write permission were always save your files?
You can edit the files to process in the lookout? No protected anyway?

This is the end of suggestions, sorry. All >

  • On carriage 4.5 Lookout 6 source file

I use Integrator lookout 6.0 to write my programs of Belvedere, I have a couple of customers with Lookout 4.5, usually make changes to their files of process on the site, but one of my clients had a lot of changes need to be made, so I made a copy of it and brought to the shop where I have compiled it is source file in my 6 Lookout Integrator software.  Then I saved the files, has brought to the site and tried to recompile, but he is back with a few errors and does not compile.  Is that what I can do to get their program to accept version 6 compile?   I wouldn't have to redo all my work on site using 4.5.  It is unlikely that I can talk to my client in the upgrade at this time of the year.

    Thank you

    Werner

Lookout does not support such use. You cannot compile the source 6.0 lookout Lookout 4.5 file.

Instead of all over again, you can try to manually change the source file (.lks).

First, make a copy of the source file.

Open it in a text editor, such as Notepad. The first lines of serval codes are different. You need to copy headers from 4.5 to 6.0 file source file source.

If this does not work after changing the source file header, follow the error in compiling to go to the exact problem codes. The error should tell you the line number. It is usually due to the number of parameters of an object incompatibility.

I can give you instructions to fix the step by step, because there is a lot of changes.

Be sure to save the source before you edit.

  • What is the relationship between the source code (LKS) file and the process file (L4P)?

I know that Lookout produces a file of source code with an LKS extension when you save a file to process.  Can someone explain the relationship between the two files, especially while the (L4P) process is running?

    1. Is this just a backup file can be recompiled in a process file?
    2. A file corrupt LKS cause strange problems with operation process file?

I currently have a very strange intermittent behavior with a process file run.  I first thought that the problem was associated with my Fieldpoint and/or their configuration modules.  Since then, I found that my process file has a file corrupt LKS.  I repaired and recompiled my LKS file to a new file to process.  I still don't know if I have solved the problem or not.  So, the problem is intermittent, I did that about 20-30 SECONDS to resolve the problems there before he goes.  Then he can not show up again for another 2-3 days.

The .lks file is just the source code of your process. It can be opened by a different version of lookout, but does not have the .l4p file.

The .lks file is not be used while a process is running. Lookout does not read the file more after his execution. So it should not affect the running process.

What kind of problem, is it?

  • Process generated with compiler file Lookout 6.5 CBL does not keep is not the past values of the variables

We have lookout Integrator 5.1 license and we make any changes to this license. now, we had bought the time of lookout Server 6.5 only run. We want to use the compiler CBL to compile the lookout 5.1 file to get the lookout6.5 file. We are able to convert the file with the CBL compiler and generated the l4p, L4t & LKA file also. There is no error in the error file generated by the compiler CBL. but we are not able to keep the value in the lookout 6.5 file and all values are enabled by default everything by restarting the process file. Please suggest the solution for reatined last values in this case.

  • Extract ODBC data Long field names

I need to extract some data created by the 4 lookout data logging (files .thd).  Is it possible to do so. I use a PC that does not have installed belvedere, I only database files

What I got so far is to export some fields whose names are less than 62 characters (using the program Logos 4.5 and driver ODBC database of 4 of Citadel by strict limitation of the field at 62 names). If I increase the limit to about 100 required to extract all the fields I can't export to Microsoft Query or any other software (which supports the import of ODBC database). I've tried several programs but usually they jump a message you can read that one point in time (or they do not see the fields or values at all)

Please, can you tell me a way I can extract the data?

The lifecycle of database is not applied in an aggressive manner. The database do not try and remove data simply because life has expired. On the contrary, the life expectancy is applied only when new data are currently recorded in the database and the log would need to increase the size of the database to store incoming data. The rate at which data are removed from the database may vary according to the rate at which new data are recorded in the database. If the frequency of recording is slow, it may take a long time for the data to be deleted.

  • Lks corrupted file?

I opened the file with notepad lks and found ASCII charcaters who seem random, in other words, is not in a specific format as with most of the other code.  If this file is corrupted or I don't know?  Attacked is the LKS file.

It is not damaged. These characters are for ActiveX controls. ActiveX controls are not the native objects of lookout. Lookout failed to export settings or the control attributes to the file .lks as legible words.

  • Lookout 6.6 - login error: there is no security file

I am trying to run the Lookout 6.6 evaluation. It loads fine, I get a message saying that it is running the evaluation version. I press OK to clear this box and opens a window to logon. It is completed with the default settings, Administator, local doman, no password. I click on login and it gives me the error that is in the subject line, there is no security file.

I read here that the lookout.sec file does not exist in the System32 folder. In this case, I found it and it's there.

I try different usernames, I took the .sec file and copied in various places: windows folder and the program root folder - obviously, there was no effect. I tried modifying the lookout.ini file to remove the log on information to see if it cleared (even deleted the file to see if it works), but does not. I also tried to reinstall the program, but there is no uninstall button - windows program removal tool may not even remove, change or repair the program. I ran the installation a couple of times as well.

Anyone know what I can do?

    Here's what I'm running:

    (I bought this computer today)

    X 64-bit of Windows 7 Home Premium

    4 GB of ram

    hard drive 500 GB

It is very minimal, because the entire computer is intended to do is run this program and replace the Lookout 5.0 computer was running (mobo got fried).

-Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Understand how to uninstall. After having done that and reinstall it seemed to work. Do not know why.

  • File state recording does not to the redundant server / backup Lookout 6.2

I have my State process server configured file to save the backup server every 5 minutes. I noticed an alarm recently saying that the report file could not be saved. I am able to map, my server, the folder on my backup server where I want to save state file, but when I enter Lookout and 'change processes' and try to access this folder, I get the error shown in the attachment.

Why can I map to this folder in the Explorer of can I without problem but not stand Lookout?

I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 and Lookout 6.2.

Lookout is running as a service?  If this is the case, verify that the share has permissions for the user account that uses Lookout.

    Good luck

    Mike

    Mike,

Belvedere is running as a service, and it is where I have solved the problem. I had the service set in place for the journal as: "Local account", so I changed it to the journal as: "This account" and seized the specific account that has full access to this folder.

This has been implemented this way for some time and worked, then I don't know what caused her to stop. The user I have logon is configured as an administrator on the server and redundant machine, that's why I chose the 'Local' in services set up account.

Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction!

Thanks a lot for your comments as well erblock and Ryan!

  • Lookout 6.5 new opening of session/logoff feature does not save

I am pleased to see that Lookout 6.5 has a new feature of opening/closing of session - but I'm having a little success with it. I use Lookout 6.5 Integrator on a new PC running Windows 7 Professional. If I go to $System connections and double click on the Member writable logon, Lookout will dim and hangs. Once, I have restarted lookout and return to the $System connections, if I type "Logon" in the field select and click Select, then I can connect a push-button, and the connection is confirmed in the list of existing connections. The work of connection - I can bring to the top of the window to logon with the push button. So far so good. One of the first things I noticed is that when I do in this respect an asterisk (which denotes a change in the file) does NOT appear next to the file name of the process back to the search window. If I go to File\Save - save is not fat - indicating that there is no change in the file. If I go to file/save money - I can save the process, but the connection of the connection is not registered. If I stop Lookout and restart the process file - the connection of the connection is not there. ????

    Thanks for your help, Ryan.

I find that using a push button and changing its source remote session opening, works push button (displays the logon window), but the button remains pressed.

As a workaround, I used a sequencer, triggered by the push button; output sequencer A is connected to the opening of the session, and then a second later sequencer output B gives a FALSE key to make it pop back. To connect to logon at the exit of the sequencer, I manually changed the file .lks with the text required, then re-setting the process file. He little s a diverted route, but now it works well.

    Thank you.

  • Lookout 5.1 Remote Client does not not with Lookout Client 6.1

I hope you guys can help me make a remote client of Lookout 5.1 runs in 6.1.

On my computer, I installed Lookout Client 5.1 and he ran a remote client (we'll call it "MyRemoteClient.lp4").

We have recently upgraded to Lookout Client 6.1 and when we run 'MyRemoteClient.lp4', he says that it was created by an older version of Lookout and recomiple the file source 'MyRemoteClient.lks '.

What source he speaks?  The only source I have is for the server process. We can uncompile the "MyRemoteClient.lp4" and recompile since I donot have 'MyRemoteClient.lks'? ".

    Thank you

    Max

The .lks file is the source file, but the .l4p is the file have respected is not compatible version. You must open the file .lks of the 6.x process if the process is created in 5.1.

You have the development lookout 5.1 Server? You can open the .l4p file and save it. The .lks file is generated.

I need to reset the password for the administrator account on an older version of Lookout.

I was to email Ryan Shi at the belvedere, but the customer took me if for a long time to get back to me (2 years), now they need.

Does anyone know how to get the password reset?  I don't know if a security Version 7 Lookout file will work with this older version.

To reset the password, find the lookout.sec in the windows\SysWOW64 (64-bit computer) or windows\system32 folder and save it first. And then copy the lookout.sec attached to this folder. Open Lookout, connection by "Administrator" and the password empty.

When I try to open the login screen of the customer in 6.7.1 it appears not. I had no problem to use it at 6.6.

Anyone had this problem with 6.7.1?

    Thank you.

I couldn't see the screen Connection Client (CCM) because unlike 6.6, the settings for the CCM are listed in the lookout.ini file in 6.7, and my settings were the following:

    HostColumn = 0
    IPAddrColumn = 0
