Loading SQL tables using the rules file
Hi Experts,
I have a doubt. In our project, we have a maxl command that imports the essbase data cube using tables sql below.
import data from database VodaPln.wrkforce
log in as 'devhyp' identified by 'password' using the rules_file «WFDataLoad.rul» Server
My doubt is here in this maxl, we define the schema and password name ('devhyp' identified by 'password'( ), but we do not give the name of the table. So, how will the maxl understand what table to extract the data. Please let me know in case I'm missing something and need to check out somewhere else.
Thanks and greetings
The actual SQL statement is in the State of charge, IT will set the columns, tables where the conditions and joins. The first parameter is the name of user who may or may not be the schema name. This information is containd in the State of charge, but also an ODBC or CLI connection

Unable to load data using the rules file
Hi all
I am facing a strange problem while loading data by using a rules file:
1. I don't get any error/kick. It gives fair attention No. data values are modified by this data file loading. But nothing will load inside.
2. I tried with Maxl and directly from EAS but gettting same warning.
3 has tried to block sending n to entires in the data file and it does not work (so no Dynamics members etc..)
4. rule file validates correctly.
5. I tried with different types of different files (Csv, Xls, Txt, etc.) but no luck.
Any suggestions / ideas of what could be bad?
Don't know what exactly was the problem, but I recreated the rule files and it solved the problem... May be a case of corrupted file rule?

Build dimension using the rules file
I use Oracle Hyperion worm 9.3.1. So that the dimensions of formatting built using the rule file, I came across the 'JOIN' and 'Create Join using' options. Can someone help me to know the difference between these two options?
Published by: 873675 on July 20, 2011 12:25 AMThe documentation explains the difference with examples, now I was going to post the link, but I might as well post the info from the link.
Join the fields
You can join several fields into one. The new field is given the name of the first field in the join. For example, if a data source has separate fields for the number of product (100) and the family of products (-10), you must join the fields (100-10) before loading in the Sample.Basic database.
Create a field by joining fields
You can reach the fields by placing fields joined in a new field. This procedure leaves intact original fields. Creating a field is useful if you need concatenate the fields of the data source to create a member.
For example, if a data source has separate fields for the number of product (100) and the family of products (-10), you must join the fields (100-10) before loading in the Sample.Basic database. If, however, you want to keep the two existing fields in the data source, you can create a field (100-10) using a join. The data source includes now all three fields (100, - 10 and 100-10).

Load data into Essbase using the rules file
Hello
IAM trying to create a rule to load for the fresh Essbase cube associated with the Hyperion Planning Application.We having 14 Dimensions (including the HSP_Rates Dimension).
The falt file used to generate the rule file has columns related to the 13 dimensions as well as the data as the 14th column column. When I validate the rules file, he said "the rules file is correct for the loading of the data.
My concern here is iam not taking care of Member Dimnesion related to the Dimension of "HSP_Rates" (not even as the Difinition of the header). I'm doing something wrong here? How validation can MOVE independently without taking into account one dimension?
If I insert the data, while recovering the data in Excel which dimension member HSP_Rates should I use?
Any response is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
RNGHello
You should charge against 'HSP_InputValue' in the HSP_Rates dimension, i.e. where the input values must be loaded.

Type of Dimension set using the Rules file
Hello
I tried to build a dimension (ASO) of accounts using the build parent-child and wanted to know if we can specify the dimension type "Account" to in the rules file?
Also all the codes of the property can be given in a single column or placing them in separate columns a good practice? I need to make this hierarchy of dimension as 'dynamic '.
I use the definition of dimension of the rules file option name.
Thanks for your contributions!Yes you can do it in a rules file. In the setting dimension dialog box, go to the third tab. You can see the list of dimensions and the possibility of adding dimensions. Right-click on the desired size and then select Edit properties. Then, you can set the dimension type and dimension member properties.
With regard to the properties. I always keep in separate columns of my source. -
Center aligning images in table using the XML file
Hello
I use a flash file that uses an xml file to download a series of images one by one in a photo-gate.
There are two different widths of images. The height is always the same. Is it possible to set up so that each image that calls file xml is center aligned as part of image.
At the present time when using the xml file to load the image she always left aligns the image when he brings it in image even if you change the alignment to center align in the Panel align.
Does anyone have a suggestion why this happens or how to fix it?
Thanks for the helpI did this quickly and did not test - but if it does not directly at the exit it might give you a starting point - or someone else can correct if there are errors. I'll check tomorrow - where I am its time to go to sleep...
CHANGE the DETAILS: Just changed a few pieces of code I posted last night - I forgot to change the statement holder_mc.loadMovie in xml.onLoad Manager. I have not tested, but its along the lines of the approach I would use to solve your problem with resizing the image. Let me know how you go with it. -
Ask about the load of metadata in Essbase using the rules file
Hello
In our application, we load the metadata using the Essbase rules file and here, we are faced with a problem. Suppose we have load a member of level 0, called "xxxx" under two different parent, assume parents are Parent_AAAA and Parent_BBBB. But our demand is the operator of consolidation for the first occurrence (i.e. under the Parent_AAAA) is '+' and for the Member shared under Parent_BBBB is ' - '. But, when we are load using rule file the operator of consolidation for the Member always shared loading as ' + '. Y at - it a trick to change the operator of consolidation for other than manually changing outline shared member?
Pls help... Thanks in advance.
I don't think that there is a way to change the default setting.
However, what you can do is to have a different charge and rule file different text with only the metadata that you want to have an exception for shared members. In this way, you can get that you don't have to change existing rules file.

Load SQL data using the Regional service
Hello
I've been loading data using text file, now I want to try to load from SQL server directly, but screen load data from EAS, "Data Source" is grayed, as soon as I clicked on SQL as the Data Source.
What I miss here?, I configure ODBC to the server level.First of all, don't you configured the source SQL and ODBC in State of charge? Open the rule of the load and the "select" menu-> open SQL. Set up the sql statement in the form, then click ok/collect to test.
Once that the rule of the load seems good, so to actually load the data, show the daa load screen as you did. Select SQL. The data source must be a Virgin because it is for the flat file. Select the rule of load (it has the SQL in it). If you look to the right of the screen, and you may need to expand to see, rather than enter the sqlID and password there. Enter those, and click ok. It should load as usual.
If you want to leave MaxL, there is a syntax similar to tell the import statement is a sql load and give you it the id and the password

How to create a hierarchy that is shared using the rules file.
Hello - I am trying to create a shared in Essbase hierarchy that looks similar to the following
-Member 1
Member 2
Member 3
Member 4
Member 5
Member 6
-Member 3
Member 4
Member 5
Member 6
Basically trying to shoot the 3 members 1 member hierarchy and show it separately.
What my rule file should look like this situation.
Grateful for the help.
Thank you.
Well, you can do that, as you describe because your member 3 would be a shared member and shared members cannot have children.
you could do something like
Member 3A
Member 4
Member 5
Member 6
Of course if you really want to watch a member 3 with his children, I don't understand why you need a shared hierarchy you can get the update rollup member 3 in the hierarchy of the primary

Creation of multiple dimensions with the rule files
Hello
Is it posible to create multiple dimensions using rules file. I managed to create 1 Dimension using the rules file, but I need to create two dimension using rules (customer and Distribution_Channel) file.
Help, please.
-AmitHello
You need the files in separate rules for the construction of separate dimensions.
You can use the same metadata file well.So, you must create 3 files of rules for the 3 dimensions.

Sign Flip using the rule of load
Hi Experts,
I'm doing a sign flip using the rule of load. I know it's possible to do this but we must define a UDA. Is it possible to do it on my data field without using the UDA? Thank you.
Kind regards
GerdIf you want to return the entire file, you can use the scale factor for the data column and it set to-1. You can also set the file to subtract from existing values, but I prefer the first way

Why list of members of the period cannot be used in the rule file to limit the period?
Hello
HFM, I created a list of members period in the members list file.
for example:
Dim aPeriodLists (9)
If HS. Dimension = 'Period' Then
aPeriodLists (1) = "[FcstActMths]".
......
......
===========================
ElseIf HS. Dimension = 'Period' Then
If HS. MemberListID = 1 Then
HS. AddMembertoList "January".
HS. AddMembertoList "February".
===========================
then in the rules file, I created a rule ondemand for datacopy real forecasts, but want to copy for the period of the membership list [FcstActMths].
so as a rule I tried below:
......
For each povPeriod in Hs.Period.List("","[FcstActMths]")
.......
but it does not work, the error indicates:
object does not support this property or method HS. Period.List.
=====================================================================================================================
Then I found that, for the function of list of the object are not period dimension.
But what I want is efficiency above.
Is there another way could do?
=====================================================================================================================
I also tried to create the array, like this:
Dim FcstActMths
FcstActMths = Array ("January", "February")
..........................
For each povPeriod in FcstActMths
.........................
=====================================================================================================================
has not worked either, during the race, the table cannot limit in time that we select...
Hello
The reason why the rules does not run is because you canmot run rules
for each period of your table, but only for the month that is on your
Current POV.
On this basis, you must change your rules and write something similar to:
Table = (month1, Month2,... monthX)
If instr (table, current month) > 0 then
Run rules
End if
I'm sure it will work.
See you soon,.

I am trying to evaluate the expression ': + b1: b2 + (: b3 *: b4) "which is stored in the table. This table has different expressions (expressions about 300). I want to use the bind variable in the expression because each expression evaluated thousands of time may be more in some cases. If I use bind variable can he fill pool.
Is there a way I can pass parameters with the HELP of (IN) dynamically instead of write "help lv_tab (1), lv_tab (2), lv_tab (3), lv_tab (4)? As number of change of the input parameters depend on the expression in the table.
If it is possible please suggest any other ideas/approaches
Help, please...
Published by: satnam on June 11, 2009 11:50Well, you keep changing faster reqs that I can follow. In any case, assuming that N-th variable bind (left to right) corresponds to n-th collection item:
Declare result NUMBER; lv_tab values_tab := values_tab(); lv_exp varchar2(300); lv_exec varchar2(300); lv_i number := 0; BEGIN lv_tab.extend(4); lv_tab(1) := 5; lv_tab(2) := 48; lv_tab(3) := 7; lv_tab(4) := 6; lv_exp := ':5000135+:5403456+(:5900111*:5200456)'; lv_exec := lv_exp; While regexp_like(lv_exec,':\d+') loop lv_i := lv_i + 1; lv_exec := REGEXP_REPLACE(lv_exec,':\d+',':b(' || lv_i || ')',1,1); end loop; lv_exec := 'BEGIN :a := ' || lv_exec || '; END;'; DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(lv_exec); EXECUTE IMMEDIATE lv_exec USING OUT result,IN lv_tab; DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(result); END; / BEGIN :a := :b(1)+:b(2)+(:b(3)*:b(4)); END; 95 PL/SQL procedure successfully completed. Creating external Tables using the EXECUTE IMMEDIATE in PL/SQL
Hi guys,.
I am trying to create an external Table using the EXECUTE IMMEDIATE in a procedure and I managed to compile and no errors were generated. But when I try to run it from sql using the exec command I get the following error:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
ERROR on line 5:
ORA-00911: invalid character
ORA-06512: at "GEO. TEST_DDL', line 4
ORA-06512: at line 5
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I tried to check the whole statement to create the external table, but I can't find where is the error. Surprisingly, if I simply run the command table create external on sqlplus it works, but not a procedure.
If anyone can help with ideas or experience?
Geoffrey KossamiThe error means that there is an identifier somewhere that starts with a nonalphanumeric. This is a typical mistake of editing. A procedure compiles correctly is not of course because the underlying dynamic sql running is OK. Which of course only be resolved when you try to run it.
There is certainly a problem with the text you provide to be run as a piece of dynamic sql code. You should try to watch it with dbms_output and run this code in sqlplus. But your problem is with the code you run as dynamic PL/SQL, it is not itself compilable.
