Local folder

Is there a way to store the local folder on a site like google Drive, and then to share between two different computers?

The normal workflow is for each Member of the team (or each computer where the DW is installed) to get a full copy of the local folder on the local hard disk, and then use Dreamweaver's Check In / ease of cash so that you overwrite not work and each other (even if it isn't that you are working on it).

  • When I send a message, how can I get Thunderbird to save it in a local folder, not "sent"?

I use pop. I have a number of local folders where I want to store messages on specific topics. I can move there messages in my Inbox and I can move there messages sent from the folder "sent" on the mail server, but it's tedious. When I was with Pegasus mail, I could set up so that every time that I sent a message he would ask me where to save it, and I found it really useful. Is there such a feature in Thunderbird? If so, I have not found. I can't even see how to redirect messages sent to my Local Outbox folder.

    Thanks for your help.

Tools / account settings / Copies & folders "when sending a message...". »

Outbox is a system box for messages that must be sent later. If you are working offline, or you decide to send later, they will remain in the Outbox until the envoys and then moved to "sent" folder.

POP is sent is a local folder. but under the local-file account.

  • The message filter to copy folder imap and then msg msg in a local folder always move works again: local folder, but sometimes the msg is absent from the imap folder.

I use a message filter to perform two actions on messages:
    (1) message copy of an imap folder
    (2) move the message to a local folder.

Usually this works; the message is in the imap folder and local folder and is not in the Inbox. But about 10% of the time the message is present in my local folder but not the corresponding imap folder. I compare the contents of the local file and the imap folder and local folder will be messages that the imap folder is missing. I can then copy the messages in the imap folder but I want to avoid the check manually.

Any ideas what might be happening? (I just activated the filter log see if anything interesting shows here).

I swapped the operations to be 1) copy to the local folder, 2) move the imap folder. I put the front filter classification. This works reliably so I will mark the problem solved.

  • How to create a new local folder in Thunderbird?

    Provide details.

I don't know what you mean by a 'local folder '. But you can select any folder in Thunderbird, right-click and select 'New folder' or 'New subfolder' from the context menu.

Some mail servers may not accept subfolders in some places. I used one for folders defined by the user in his file Inbox and nowhere else.

  • Files MBOX Google slipped into local dir. for local folder while Thunderbird is closed. I open Thunderbird & the folder is there, but empty, corrupted file name?

I have downloaded from a google account I am trying to download on another account google for work purposes the MBOX files. I started to Thunderbird and a click with the right button on the local folder selected and copy the address of the local directory in a windows Explorer window. I then closed thunderbird.

I dragged and dropped my MBOX files into the directory local and closed, then reopened Thunderbird. Records for the MBOX files were there and a folder for emails, but other folders were empty.

I added IMPORTEXPORTTOOLS and tried to use it, no luck.

I have the Nations Unies/reinstalle Thunderbird, including records of local directory of wiping and I tried with and without import export Tools Add. No luck, the folders are empty, and a new file of .mbox and .msf file is created with a string of alphanumeric characters replace the end of the name instead of a file of similar size and random file, the converted .msf is 2 KB. Something is not conversion.

     Any suggestions?

It worked. It was like the original MBOX files have been compressed double, even though I unzipped and extracted, it needed more extraction.

I had no files with .mbox in the name of the file, or these files come from Thunderbird previously so initially your instructions would have been absurd since I didn't have an Inbox.mbox file. However when you rename the file seems to work thank you.

Thanks for explaining more clearly than on the forums.

  • I have archived emails from a local folder and now they are missing

I had maybe 100-200 emails in a local folder. I've archived them with the menu. TB flashed a message that they were in the folder "2014". That's nice. Now, where fires is folder 2014? It is not found.

The help documents say all configure the folder location of archives on the "Copies & folders" section of the page 'account & Settings '. But "Copies & folders" does not exist for local folders. So, where the hell are my emails?

Technically, TB did not lose messages. He has just scattered to the four winds, where they would never be found.

He brought back the out of local folders, accounts of mail box from whence they came. There, they were archived per year in different folders.

I managed to restore them in local folders from a backup. Either way, this procedure was not without White knuckles because I had added a subfolder from the backup, and TB just went crazy mad.

This isn't for the faint of heart. I can attest that things can go very wrong. Don't forget to save the profile before trying it and makes no changes to the profile while tuberculosis is open.

  • Rescue and save to a local folder, if the record in IMAP fails

I would like to save my sent messages or IMAP projects.
But if the server or the internet is down, I would be able to save to a local folder instead.
For the spoils, it's no big deal to save them manually to a local folder, for not sending emails, however it is annoying.
So, when the question comes up: "there was an error saving message in drafts. Try again? "it would be good if there was a third button, additional to the"Cancel"where data is lost and 'Ok' where it will fail again, a third option, 'save locally,' would be possible.
Y at - it an addon or an option hidden, to change the location, after that I have send / began to write the letter?

    Additional information:
I wasn't able to change the settings for the current session, once the mail is send, store it somewhere else.
I think I've changed all the settings to save messages locally, but it is still trying to save sometimes in IMAP. In order to be able to configure the location where to save the current message, it would be great.

    I use Fedora, with thunderbird - 31.7.0 - 1.fc21.x86_64 and thunderbird-lightning - 3.3 - 5.fc21.x86_64

Apparently, I do not change the settings of all identities.

After replaceing imap://*@*/ with mailbox://nobody@Local%20Folders/, it seems to work.

  • I can't see e-mail messages about my local folder on the drive location. Paranoid.

I am moving pop, IMAP and in the process try to archive many messages in not-very-active topics/folders to my local files. All this seems to work _great_. My messages are archived just where I expect to be, and I can see _in Thunderbird_.

But, when I go to the location of records them attest to 'Browse' in the account settings for local folders, I can only see .sbd files. These sometimes have subfolders for _some_ subfolders in my local folder structure (but not all). I see no message. In some cases properties indicate that the folder has a size large.

BUT I want to be able to leave with my e-mail address if something goes wrong. Where are my emails? How can I configure T-bird so that I can be comfortable that they will survive the disappearance of the T-bird, or some other misfortune (assuming I have back up.)

    Thanks in advance.

Re: try to check many messages in not-very-active topics/folders to my local files.

So you are not checking them in the sense of using the archive feature. you just create folders in the "Local folders" account and penetrating the files out of the emails Pop e-mail account.

    Please provide the following information.

First check that you have this set:
View > folders > all the
    or
Icon of the menu > folders > all the

    • Then after a picture of the folders pane, so that we can see your "Local folder" and all the files in that account.

Can make folders and hidden files visible:

    • Help > troubleshooting information
    • Click on "view the file.
    • Click the folder "mail".
    • Click on "records the.
    • Post a picture of the Local content folder.

If you have created files in a folder (subfolders), it creates a file with a .sbd extension.
Thus, for example, if the Inbox subfolders, then you will see an Inbox.sbd folder.

    • Click the *.sbd folder.
    • Please post image in the folder *.sbd, display the contents of the folder.

If you have more than one + .sbd file, please post images to display the content.

  • How do you return to the main Thunderbird Linux window when it opens in a local folder?

I see no possibility to return to the main window of Thunderbird 31.1.1 under Fedora 20. It always opens in the same local folder (the only tab displayed in the menu bar "File edit view...") as I was reading before "closing session." yesterday. I tried to restart the computer. Help would be appreciated.

I think that you do not see the account folders pane.

In, View menu | Layout and check the Folders pane.

If you do not have a menu, hold the < alt > key and then press l (lowercase L).

The folders pane shows your accounts and their records and IMHO, is essential to navigate around in Thunderbird.

  • Copy the new Gmail message to a local folder in Thunderbird-, and mark it as read ONLY on the Gmail server

    Hi forum,

for a long time, I tried to set up a filter which copies new messages in the Gmail inbox to a folder in local mail in Thunderbird, and defines in addition/unread state correctly on both ends.

However, no matter what I try, it doesn't work.

There seems to be no way to set the playback on the IMAP server to 'read' State after the copy action and at the same time keep the "unread" status for mails that have been copied to the local folder in Thunderbird.

It does not work even if I created an intermediate folder on the IMAP server where mail is first moved to and only then is copied to the local Thunderbird folder later.

I also tried all sorts of combinations with the 'move later' and other actions to FiltaQuilla.

I'm really at a loss. I'm the only one who wants to copy the message from Gmail to a local Thunderbird folder and get the status of unread / read appropriate on the server, as well as in Thunderbird?

    Bunch help, thank you

    Bravo David.P

Why is that every time I ask about any TB support forum, I find myself explaining things instead of getting an answer?

I need to mail to stay on the server, even if I delete it locally. What part of this is not understandable?

In any case, don't bother. I fixed it myself at the same time by putting in place the new Gmail account in Thunderbird.

  • How can I move the emails already downloaded from an IMAP account expired in a local folder?

I have an IMAP account expired with emails in it I can always access with Tbird as they have been downloaded I think (I can connect is no longer on the server account). I want to move these to the local folder so Tbird will not ask me the password whenever I start to access other email accounts. I tried to move and copy the emails from a local folder, I created and neither worked. How can I do this? Emails must be on my local drive somewhere or I could not open and read them at this stage. TIA.

The Thunderbird value offline: file | Offline | Work in offline mode

Then you should be able to copy your messages in folders the IMAP account on the local folders account.

  • How can I keep my messages or folder on my local hard drive and not be an IMAP folder as local folder is

I was a little confused on the way Thunderbird handles the local folder. My local folder is not strictly local, but IMAP as my account records. I would like to be able to unload some of my old files on my hard drive and have them always accessible via Thunderbird. The question becomes greater now that I use a lot of server space, and since this is a business account that I would rather not remove them. I want to archive them. I tried archive but it is just another IMAP folder and so is my local files. Initially, I found having the local convenient IMAP folders because I could file emails from multiple email addresses into common folders and easily get to them via my PC or my laptop because they are IMAP.
All I want to do now is to archive some of my old emails, so they are no longer on the server. How can I do to make it. I thought it should be an easy thing but now after having spent a few hours looking for a solution and finding I'm frustrated. Everything I've read suggests that the local folder should be stored on my hard don't drive not the server, but this isn't my experience.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. (I use Thunderbird 24.3)

In fact, even if I go on once again, I'm more invested in what happens with IMAP and used space.
It is obvious, from some recent exchanges here records them are "local."

In the account settings > server settings.
Check cleaning (": Remove") is turned on and then exit and restart Thunderbird.

Then check your use of space on the server, after that Thunderbird and the server took a while to 'chat '.

My guess as to what is happening, is that the IMAP account is not erasing, so deleted mail is there, stay hidden because it is removed but continues to occupy the space.

According to the device/operating system, you need to add the extension of your installation of WebWorks as explained here for OS SmartPhone BB or PlayBook OS.

To use read the samples provided, they must work somehow. When I worked with the extension on PlayBook I only copy + pasted the provided source code and changed the attributes for the function call:

    // You need to define "remotePath", "localPath", "onProgress", "onError", "options" like shown in documentationblackberry.io.fileTransfer.downloadFile(remotePath, localPath, onProgress, onError, options);

For OS SmartPhone BB the function call looks like this:

    // You need to define "options" like shown in documentationwebworks.io.FileDownloader.download(options);

All think that all information provide here, try to follow and cela should operate.

  • Is it possible to synchronize the copied file in the local folder with the original file in the network?

    Hello

I copied a file from the shared network folder and it is really important document, so I need to use this file as a file off the local drive connection and backup as well just in case where the cause accidental, but I don't want to save it each time and don't want to use the original file in the network.

Is it possible to automatically synchronize the copied file in the local folder with the original file in the network?

    Thank you

Absolutely without interruption would require a program to write that monitors files on the file locks and triggers a sync as soon as he sees a change.  So, since we cannot just write a program, the best thing is either:

    (1) an icon on your desktop that you can click each time you want to synchronize "synchronize my files now.

    or

    (2) plan the "my sync files' to run automatically every x minutes.  It could be a batch script that checks to see if the file is more recent and copies only files that have changed.  Although perhaps a little aggressive, you could plan this thing check-and-copy-a batch file - again to run every 60 seconds.

Batch files allow you to control the operations very directly, but Microsoft has also made a (not supported) tool called SyncToy who does all the same things, but has a graphical interface to select your options. It can be programmed to run automatically on a schedule.

subst is a command that can be used.  However, its effect is gone after reboot.  If it is possible to set up a bat at the start, it is not ideal.
