Locate the sound card or where is this device driver?

Hello

I have no sound with Widows VISTA.  Nothing has changed and there is no virus on this machine. It has just stopped working.  My speakers are OK checked with "fix problem with Windows.  I would like to see if the sound card broke or what other devices can be attached that are at fault.

Thank you

John

Hello!

Go to (start-> devmgmt.msc) under ' Audio, video and game controllers' Device Manager, double-click the audio card and check if the status is "this device is working."

If the driver is correct, run:

Open the administrator command prompt (start-> Accessories-> right click on command prompt-> "Run as Administrator" and run):

sfc/scannow

to analyze the integrity of protected system files and replace the incorrect versions by appropriate Microsoft versions

DISM / Online/Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

to fix the corruption of Windows errors

Hi nick, maybe just acgraham trying to access his card CVI

Normally, I consider that a data acquisition card is much more flexible than a sound card, which higher input voltage, a large number of modes of acquisition and examples and costs not so high (at least some of the inexpensive devices can be purchased as 6008, 6009). However, there is the possibility to access the sound card: you can read this discussion as an example.

  • Location of sound card

Where is the port of the sound card? Is this the same as the microphone port?

    Hi selkie305,

The location of the sound card depends on the type of sound card on the computer.

There are three types of sound cards: sound cards, built on the motherboard of your computer and maps its internal and external.

You connect the microphone Jack Mic-in/digital (input\output) which is part of the sound card line out port. Basically, microphone port is port of the sound card.

  • Error message during the installation of the sound card: an error occurred during the installation of the device__ "e/s operation was abandoned because of a thread exit or an application request." _

    Hello
I can't update the audio driver on my PC. When you try to install the driver (new sound card), I get the following message is displayed:
There was a problem installing this hardware:

An error occurred during the installation of the device
"The IO operation has been abandoned due to a thread exit or an application request."
The driver worked fine on this computer until a month ago. I think it's more a problem of Windows installation as a driver issue, but I do not know where to go from here. Any suggestions?
    Thank you
I tried to install the sound card on different PCI expansion slots. I get the same message trying to install a USB sound card. The sound properties in the control panel are classified outside (non-active)

    Hello Smachbub,

Select the 'Drivers' tab and click 'uninstall '.
After uninstalling the driver, reboot and go to your computer manufacture or website of the manufacturer of the sound card and download/install the latest driver for your device.
If problems persist, try this same process as a new profile.
    2. to create a new profile:
Click 'Start' > right click on 'My computer' > select 'manage '.
Double-click 'Users and groups' > select 'users '.
In the right pane, right click and select 'add a new user '.

  • Confirmation of the sound card for CS5 body

I tried to determine the sound card should I buy for Creative Suite CS5 compatible with Premier Pro.  I have reviewed the positions resulting from my research this list a number of sound cards.  Some indicate problems.

With no experience in cards ASIO sound and several to choose from, what sound card is recommended for the overall performance of the experience?

    John,

The image in a previous post and the components I mentioned that you may be able to distill my workflow for VO. Note that I have not (regularly) use a teleprompter, even if occasionally I can get one from a friend to use.

My workflow is written the text of VO, I want to add. The reason is that I want every sentence having a flow, I want to know where to focus, where having a silent part and get an overall feel of the story. It should be like the old stories told on the radio. It must arouse the interest of the public, even with your eyes closed, it must Captivate their and it helps me get the correct wording, avoids the use of difficult words, etc. I don't then go to a room in my house, close windows, doors, turn off the phone, tell my wife not to confuse me, hope that nobody rings a Bell at the entrance door and no ambulances pass our House with sirens screaming, no outside disturbances and installation of the filter SE reflection Pro and the microphone. I then read the text, usually wise paragraph, get my knowledge again and continue to the next section. When I feel that everything is OK, I remove the Zoom of the SD card, import WAV recordings in my computer and import them into my project. It is then a simple matter of dragging each paragraph in the timeline (mono track) and the position where I want, and so on to the next paragraph. In this way, I get a very clear sound VO, in need of no other audio processing and positioning is very fast. This works very well for me, but maybe that your workflow is different, so distilled that you need and that you can use from this description.

How can I get the sound card to play on the speakers of the car?

Usually connecting the phone to the car system - particularly at the point where you can play the music usually connects the Maps app

There is a switch at the bottom of the maps app with a speaker symbol that allows you to toggle between having the sound coming through the phone or Bluetooth

I think you didn't use the right card driver

The sound chip comes from Realtek and you need to reinstall the Realtek audio driver for the audio.

    Hello

Recently, I uninstalled a program and my sound card driver has been uninstalled with it

I have the file to reinstall the diver in the Toshiba page but when I try to install I get the error "driver is not found.

The European Toshiba driver page provides audio driver for XP and at this time, it s a 5.12.0.1.5160 version of Analog Devices Inc.

You must download, unpack and then run the installation exe.

If it doesn't work then remove the sound card in Device Manager, reboot the laptop and check again.

  • Satellite P300-220 - yellow exclamation on the sound card

    Hello

I just lowered my Satellite p300 to XP pro, but it seems to me that I now have some problems.

-First of all, in Device Manager, I have a line "Audio device on Bus High Definition"with a yellow"?" and a «!» I installed the audio drivers and kb888111xpsp2.exe execution but that did not solve the problem, this line does not disappear.

D ' other hand, when I click on "my computer > properties" it is written that I had 2, RAM 96Go, but normally I have 4 GB. Is this normal? I'm a little afraid to see it and not know what to do.

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks in advance.

    You must install Microsoft patches:
    -KB888111
    -KB835221

But these fixes are also part of the SP3!

In order to solve your problem, you need to remove the audio driver and the sound card in Device Manager. I then have to install SP3.
After SP3 has been installed, you can reinstall the sound driver

It is important that the pilot would be installed AFTER the SP3
