  Hello, we have solved the problem, we installed the software a differernt way and now, which seems to be working properly it could have been something wrong with the installation after all. It wasn't flaged, because it worked for an administrator.

UPDATE: I made an attempt to reinstall windows I get settings for windows loading and I get the loading screen of windows 7 and that a black screen with the cursor nothing happens at all so is this a hardware problem?

  If we are still having problems with the Software hive, let's try the following:

  1. Start to repair the system and choose command line.
  2. Type the following commands:
  3. z:
  4. cd\windows\system32\config
  5. Ren software software.old
  6. ren system system.old
  7. Regback CD
  8. Copy the software z:\windows\system32\config
  9. copy the z:\windows\system32\config system
  10. Reboot and see if we are able to start Windows.

  Please note that if there is no directory regback, we should type the following:

  • Ren software software.old
  • ren system.old system.

  Just ordered my HP Pavilion yesterday so I have not yet used. Some the sofware as 'Adobe Photoshop Elements 7' which is on my xp desktop I want to load on my new laptop. On the side of the box does not list windows 7 but it does not list xp and vista. Any chance it to load on my new laptop? If I try, what happens? Don't want to spoil it but would really like my software on the laptop.
