Log in as system administrator

I have several nagging things McAfee can't sweep. They suggest that I "log on as an administrator" and see if I can delete these files.  I don't know how to log on as an administrator. Can someone tell me how? I have Windows Vista.

Hello

Right-click on the McAfee Desktop icon or the program and then - run as Admin

and also try this option to remove the malware:

Download update and scan with the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware

http://www.Malwarebytes.org/MBAM.php

You can also download and run rkill to stop the process of problem before you download and scan with malwarebytes

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill

If it does not remove the problem and or work correctly in normal mode do work above in safe mode with networking

Windows Vista

Using the F8 method:

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
  3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
  4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
  5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
  6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

I have a question after a problem to be able to install programs (JavaScript, Adobe Reader) on my laptop. I keep getting an error message that I need to log in as system administrator to allow these installs. What can I do?

    Hello

What operating system you are using? Is that your system is connected to the domain? Also try to create the folder in the program files folder & Windows.

You are facing the issue due to insufficient user rights to delete the entries of the special program in related folders & registry.

Follow the procedure indicated by Walter. If persists, then you need to log in with the administrator account & then you must try the installation again.

  • Not recognized as a system administrator

I am logged on as system administrator, but I'm still getting messages telling me to ask my system administrator for permission.  No idea why this would happen, or how I can fix this?

    Hello JillCornieles,

Since Windows Vista and Windows 7, a logon administrator account always uses a standard or limited account for certain purposes. As an administrator, you have the credentials to perform administrator functions (creating/changing user permissions and accounts of users etc.). However the programs always run in a secure mode in which they are prevented from making specific functions (access to certain hardware/software properties, etc.). To access these properties, you can run a program using the "Run as administrator". To run as an administrator, you right-click on a program and select "Run as Administrator" in the right click menu.

You can see the results of user account control. You can set the level of security desired for user account control in Windows Vista. However, Microsoft does not recommend disabling the user account control. To do this is at your own risk.

    1. Click Start, type user accounts in the Start Search box, and then click user accounts in the programs list.

Note If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click continue.

    3. Click to select the check box use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer , and then click OK.
    4. Restart the computer to apply the change.

  • I can't log in as an administrator in my windows 7 PC with 32-bit operating system. What can I do?

I put my password to log on as an administrator.  When I restrart the computer and try to log in it asked me to change the password to connect. I did it. When I try to getback to my computer with the new password, it says it's a mistake. Now, I can not connect as an administrator. What can I do? And who is the administrator of a computer that I own. I'm puzzled. Your help please

I put my password to log on as an administrator.

I don't understand what you mean with this statement - please explain.

To recover from all that you have done, you can follow these steps:
    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Configure Windows to a point before you did what you did.
    8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.

The program tries to modify an entry in the registry and something he keeps.  The registry is huge, and unless you know exactly what entry does not cooperate, your best approach would be to restore the registry to a point to where he was working.  You can do this by performing a "system restore."

I can not download other applications software, because I'm not connected my Vista system as a system administrator. Can you tell me how I can get around this since I did not have the ability to create the profile?

    Thank you!

Can't do.  You must be an administrator to do.  Talk to an administrator and ask them to upgrade you to a standard user to administrator and that will fix the problem (or ask one to do anything, you need done that only an administrator can do).

I have no idea who is the administrator system on my computer, I am the only person who uses it, I admit, but when I try to do something I thought for the permission of the system administrator - how to find out about it?

    Operating system?

In Windows Vista/7 - even if you were to log on as the built-in Administrator, some things you would do (such as installing an application or access to certain files or folders) require an elevation of privileges.  Maybe that's what you see.

However, you chose to not reveal your OS for some reason.
