  • Delayed start, shutdown procedure

I recently discovered that my beautiful satellite pro has developed a resistance to be shutdwn or restarted. Through the usual procedure is very slow. Start at the stop is ok, but to get the final options (box with restart, shutdown, is slow). No info on Google.

Explorer is faster than ever. I defragged, cleaned, checked for viruses, checked with systemworks, and everything is ok.

Windows 2000 and I am on the network with the XP computer.

The only other issue, since the definition to the network, is a tendency to lose the settings of the printer (against printer, references on not installed, although exclamation points that it works.) Printer is local and not on the network).

Any ideas would be welcome. It's a little scary, because he had control with Toshiba upward only a few weeks ago. The flaw with the stop developed after that. They recommend a complete reinstallation, of course.

    Hi ellen,.

like the guys from toshiba, I suggest you reinstall, too. After a while, an operating system becomes slower and slower due to misconfigured setting (no matter what settings) and the
Register to become more complete, and the system can make really weird things.

Thus, it would be good to backup you important data and reinstall windows with the recovery cd. After that, you should have somewhere clean and sober (from 3rd party software) system.
Would appreciate feedback if you do reinstall.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite M70: shutdown procedure sometimes does not work

Just have a problem with my newly bougt garage 70 M Satellite (1.7, 512, 40, combo, XP Home Edition). Especially when I stopped the laptop, it stucks and window gives the message 'PadTouch_FingerWnd program is not responding... ". "So now if I click on CANCEL button NOW, it stops, otherwise it gets stuck and window fails to this program (and thus the PC as well) automatically closes.

How can I fix this problem? Even I am unable to find this file by windows search.

    Hello

The Toshiba TouchPad utility is installed on this device. It seems that the issue was caused by this application. Well, I recommend delete this application Add & Remove programs and after restarting, try to reinstall this software from Toshiba.

  • Shutdown Windows XP Pro problem

When shutting down my computer, my computer always close at the end of the process.  After a bit of work by a group of Geeks, now at the end of the process, I get a screen that says: it is now safe to shut down the computer and I have to physically push the power button.  I am running Windows XP Pro service pack 3.  Can someone tell me how to change the settings so that the computer stops automatically at the end of the shutdown procedure?

I have not seen this message from Win95 or Win98. Are you sure they put XP on it? (I'm kidding)

Have you had work done on the equipment? IIRC, that has something to do with a setting in the BIOS on the way to stop. I could be wrong, it's been so long that I saw this message, but I think it's the entire solution.

  • Windows XP Shutdown problems

    Original title: Windows XP Sutdown

On my XP machine, I have to perform the shutdown procedure twice to turn off my machine. I am referring to start > shutdown on the Start Menu.

No idea why this is happening and how I can fix this problem? Help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hello

1 have you used Windows system restore or the HP factory restore?

2 have you tried all the steps mentioned by Sandeep GNT?

    3. were you able to complete the process?

    4. in the case, do you have an error message?

    Method 1:

I also suggest you to check if the problem persists in safe mode. You can also try the clean boot to help isolate the problem.

    Step 1:

To start the computer in safe mode

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

    Step 2:

    Clean boot:

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: when you have finished troubleshooting, follow the steps that mentions how to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state.

    Method 2:

I suggest you perform a system restore to the date when the computer was working fine and check.

How to restore Windows XP to a previous state

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/306084

Note: when you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

I also suggest you to verify that Windows update may be the cause of the problem. To so proceed as follows:

You can see what updates you have installed on your computer by clicking on add or remove programs in Control Panel.

    a. go to the menu and start at the bottom left.

    b. Select Control Panel from the menu.

    c. find the icon Add / Remove programs and double-click it to open it.

    d. a list of installed programs. For Windows updates put a check mark in the box next to see the updates.

    e. now, you will see also all the updates that are on your computer.

  • S50-A-10R satellite gel and trolling so that files downloaded

    Hello

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite S50-a-10R (in October) and I have a big problem!

If I try to download something via U-orrent (or any other torrent clinet), or transfer files from the computer train MUCH, freezer, it is really unusable.

I have Windows 8.1 on it, and open the Task Manager, it says that the average response time is ~ 4S if I download with 300 kb/s (on torrents) or transfer of something, at about 20 MB/s (from one partition to the other) or a Clerkship my laptop HARD drive.

I checked the disk for bad sectors, and it is clean.

It all started when I started to download movies (with about 5 MB/s - torrents) and the utorrent froze (he said does not) and soon after, the whole system froze.

I shut down the computer using the power button and rebooted. After the long reboot (it took about 5 minutes or so... which is unusual), I saw 1 of my 3 scores (just the system partition).

I ran a ubuntu disc and saved my data and are erased and formatted my entire disk, reinstalling windows.

After the reinstall, the problem persists.
I tried again using utorrent, but this time, download speed of 300 Kbps that started trolling so hard that it took me about 15 minutes to close the pc using the normal shutdown procedure.

    Someone at - it suggestions?

I think it's the hard drive, but maybe it's something else...

    THX

    Hello

I think reset the computer laptop back to factory settings.
Must recover the laptop with the internal recovery procedure or the recovery media, you could create using the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator.

If the laptop wouldn't properly after this recovery, it must be a hardware problem.
For me, it sounds like a problem drive HARD especially when I m read this:
    > I shut down the computer using the power button and rebooted. After the long reboot (it took about 5 minutes or so... which is unusual), I saw 1 of my 3 scores (just the system partition).

It looks like you may have a system (assuming that everything comes from overheating problem
turn it off, rather than a shutdown procedure)? -in this case, your best bet
is to take a local reputable dealer and have them cleaned
(physically!). Should not take more than 15 minutes, assuming that it is a desktop-

After the execution of Windows 7 for several years without problem, I am now unable to turn off the computer.  When I do the normal shutdown procedure, the following message appears on the screen:

Operations are in progress, please wait.

The machine will automatically close when the operations are completed.

I let the machine run as long as 10 hours, but the message never goes away.  Finally, I have to power down. Of course, I don't like this solution.  If anyone can help?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand your concern, and we as a community will try to help you in the best possible way we can.

This problem can occur if updates failed to install.

I suggest you follow the methods and check them off below if it helps:

    Method 1:

If you are unable to boot into normal mode, you can try the steps in the following article to perform a restore of the system by a safe mode or boot from the disk Installation of Windows 7 full version and check.

The update is not installed successfully, you receive a message, and the computer restarts when you try to install an update in Windows Vista and Windows 7

    Method 2:

You can also consult the following link for a case of failure of the System Restore Startup Repair.

What are the system recovery options in Windows 7?

    Method 3:

When you are able to boot into normal mode, you can check that the windows update history to see if recent updates could not be installed.

See the Windows updates are installed

Hope the information helps, if you have any additional questions, feel free to post. We are here to help you.

  • VMware 5.5 u1 - iScsi adapter hangs the system

    Hi all

Last week I was not successful in improving the environment VMware 5.5 to 5.5U1. First installation well happened, set up the first ESXi host and created a profile of the host. So far so good, no major issues. Where to install the rest of the other 5 blade servers and applying the host profile all seem to work well while things went sideways when the environment has been stopped and restarted.

    Te of installation as follows:

    Servers Dell 1955 blades Center (x 6)

Switches Cisco 3030 connected to the blades of the

vCenter server as a virtual machine on the ESXi cluster

Manager upgrade from vCenter as a virtual machine

    Distributed Virtual Switch configured

During the shutdown procedure I move all components of vCenter to a single host before feeding the server vCenter (Windows 2008). Then I stop the ESXi host using the management client as vCenter is no longer available.

Turn on the cycle must start this first ESXi host, connect to it and then powering the vCenter components. Once that of all DRS and power management is set to automatic, then the virtual machine simulation is started.

With 5.5 all worked well and no problems at all. When I installed 5.5 U1 I could no longer connect to the ESXi server and it gave a 503 error when it connects to it. Through the journal showed that the components on the file system was not found after what I decided to do a cleaning of the files install.

After the reinstallation of the entire batch, I connected to an ESXi host and helped the network and added the iScsi card. At this point, the system stops responding and the session between the client and the ESXi host is disconnected.

Running several tests, I have concluded that something must be wrong with the components of virtual disk system, iScsi or vSan. 5 of 6 guests will be deployed to vmware 5.5 as vmware 5.5U1 is not stable...

Can use some to help solve this problem I will leave 1 server in the current state, is to identify the root cause because I'm stuck at the moment. Later, I'll post a few newspapers of sections of the file with the errors that I have identified. (Pass it restart does not solve the problem)

    Kind regards

    Martin Meuwese

    Hi Martin,

Could you please check the hardware compatibility list. I couldn't see Center blade server Dell 1955 support in 5.5U1 HCL.

  • The judgment

    Hello-

I was talking to one another s/n clean shutdown procedures.

When you use "cancel the stop"and in the course of the recovery instance is made users can connect to the database if it takes a long time to complete?

I have not heard of it or seen it before.

    Start-
    Molto
    Open-

    Thank you-

As has been pointed out, the database will be opened only at the end of "crash recovery" (aka "instance recovery"). Users will be able to connect.

however if one or more large transactions were active at the time of SHUTDOWN ABORT, the dismantling of these transactions gets delayed until after the crash recovery. Although the database is OPEN, one or several restorations may still occur. Users who try to DML on the same lines find their sessions waiting on the cancellation - that is to say if a session trying to update a row that was closed but not committed and has not yet been restored, Oracle will attempt to finish before restoring the user's session can take a lock on the line and run his transaction.

I bet that most DBA forget that this restoration is delayed until after the OPENING.

  • Satellite M50D-A-10W does not start after the battery is completely empty

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite laptop Satellite M50d-A-10W AMD A, 15.6.

I have problem when the battery is completely empty I have to use the needle achieve hard reset the switch behind the laptop... so I can't enter in bootmode with f2

How can I solve the problem?

    Thank you

I guess you are talking about the shutdown procedure force as described in this document:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB3C03JR0000R01.htm

This problem can appear in case the PC freezes, do not start or has a power failure.

I think that the laptop turns off in case the battery is completely empty. In this case the system does not close properly.
As the default state, the system keeps laptop but usually the unit carries out a stop of the hybrid. This procedure allows the laptop to start much more quickly, but it could affect the system startup in case something goes wrong during the process of closing.
You can disable this hybrid mode and in my opinion, it is also recommended.

    Details:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm

However, to avoid these problems, it of very important to correctly perform the closing procedure.

  • HP Slimline 450 desktop computer - a60n: "prepare windows."

    Hello

I bought the HP Slimline Office 450 - a60n last month.  He has often used to freezing. I downloaded Office 365, then Windows 10 and have a 3 TB Seagate drive and backup HD.  When the PC has frozen it cannot close by the Task Manager and I had to turn the PC off by avoiding the normal shutdown procedure.  I've been ripping of CD and recently it started to freeze in iTunes as well as on Google Chrome.  The PC was fine this morning with a gel, but returned upward again normally.  I went out for a few hours and turned the PC on to find the "prepare windows" message to arrive.  After a few moments the windows screen came, but everything changed.  He was missing a lot and what icons were left returned to the original size.  Office has dissappeared as had my photos and documents. The PC freezes if I try to restore the files.  "Preparation of windows" message every time and some work I did between start-ups is lost.  It's square. Please can someone help me because my computer knowledge is low. Thank you.

    Hi Sargoza,

Thank you for picking me up in it.  I apologize for the delay in answering this is only because I was only using my nephew more in computer science that we could work on it yesterday.  We had the impression to have obtained, by trial and error with only a few minor questions functionally remaining.  If we have the problem once again, we can miss all the - ass-in-bag that we went down.

The only way we could get this to work for him was the creation of an administrator with full administrator access privileges account and then create a new user account for the PC.  To transfer only the most important things through like photos, documents, music, etc. and the items selected in the folder of the Aps.  We believe that the problem was corruption or conflict within the folder of the Aps.  I asked the removal of all the Aps that I am unlikely to use (Wintangent was an I wasn't happy) and he also removed Trusteer? because research, he found that this approach had caused some problems with crashing.  It of early days but no crashes yet.

We noticed that the backup drive Seagate doesn't seem to be back up whenever the PC was the 10 Windows, but don't come back for me since September 15. It is a continuous backup and so we re-set the back-up and if everything goes well on the next day or so I'll be able to see if this is working properly now.

It is difficult to transfer contact in Outlook through addresses, but all my mail is held on the server of my ISP and came home once that Outlook has been reconfigured. I now also use the Onedrive and copied through all the precious objects as that contained in addition to rear up nicely with the help of 'SeaTools' would indicate that the Seagate drive is functioing normally.

So thank you once again for taking the time to help me, I hope situation now resolved.

HP offers only the mobile features of the printer to printers connected Networks, such is not supported for a USB connection.

A print server allows the sharing of a printer with computers, and not with a mobile device.

You can plug the USB to your PC, then install a 3rd party software such as PrinterShare share the pritner through your PC, but the nay customer will have the PrinterShare app which is not a freeware.
