  I tried to use the latest driver on the Acer website but Windows 10 will not be considered and replied that the generic

  pilot is the most common. I also have other older monitors that are from a different manufacturer than 10 Windows

  identifies and uses their drivers?  I finally contacted Acer and they said that they do not develop the drivers, Microsoft

  makes and to communicate with them. The generic driver seems to work very well, but I prefer to say Acer by name rather

  I hung a flat-screen monitor that requires a resolution of 1680 x 1050.  Other resolutions are tense or blurred in the regions.  The driver from HP for Intel 82945 G Express graphics card does not support this resolution, and there is no update.  Intel has a updated through driver, but when I install it I get an error message that "the driver being installed is not validated for this computer.  Please obtain the appropriate driver from the manufacturer of the computer. "The program of detection of material on the web site of Intel also confirms that the computer has a custom driver manufacturer that apparently intel substitute.  Is it possible to override this limitation of hp, or are there other autour work?  Operating system is Windows XP Media Center.  Thanks for your suggestions.

  problem solved.  I don't know what changed, but my chore to update the reader must have done something, because restarting the 1680 x 1050 was available and makes the monitor look great.

  HP f1904 monitor has a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 and only DVI and VGA inputs. HP ENVY 17 - j003sa Notebook computer has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and appears to only have a HDMI output. It may be possible to connect the two using a HDMI-DVI cable. It doesn't seem to be available 7/8 Windows drivers on the HP Pavilion f1904 19 inch LCD monitor drivers & downloads page and should not need a driver.

  The monitor is lower compared to the computer. I would suggest buying a new monitor 1920 x 1080 to compliment the 17-j003sa of HP computer that you intend to buy.

  I looked at previous posts and cannot find answers to the problem I have.

  I have a new HP Touchsmart Tx2 laptop, running Vista Home Premium 64 with memory 4gm. I just bought a HP w2558hc monitor. Attached to the Tx2 via DVI and USB provided. Oiginally installed ok with drivers and the recognition of the monitor.

  Updon last updates from HP and MS it won't recognize the monitor. I reloaded the drivers but the Tx2 will not find drivers w2558hc so he sees it as a generic monitor. When pilot reloading I "Access denied" sometimes but not other times.

  I spent hours on the phone with HP support yesterday. We me finally to run the DRVFix tool - which I did. I reloaded the drivers w2558hc OK, but the Device Manager and HP My Display still will not recognize the monitor - only as a generic monitor.

  Would appreciate any help / advice / tips! Really frustrated with the support of HP because they can't fix it. Thank you.

  Thank you very much for your answer. I tried the UAC road without success. In fact, I tried the driver specific monitor HP to take advantage of the many features included with it. I solved the problem and the solution follows.

  My solution:

  Got a copy of a document from HP called: HP w2558hc LCD Monitor driver. Follow the directions for my Vista Home Premium 64 environment and goes to the manual (INF and ICM) section driver installation... then the section Microsoft Vista Home and business editions. Followed the instructions step by step and low and here is it worked.

  It was after hours on the phone with two different HP support groups. Sure am glad I got softtware HP work CORRECTLY with the HP hardware!

  Once more, appreciate your help and your advice.

  I seems that you try this with the installation CD... Uninstall the drivers will flow and the monitor. Put the installation CD in the CD drive. and as soon as the Installer starts out out of it.

  Go to Device Manager... Try to install the drivers for the cards by selecting the location as the CD drive in my computer.

  I have a Samsung 225BW external LCD monitor, connected to a Toshiba SatellitePro U400 laptop and after a recent windows update mode for optimal display resolution (1680 x 1050) has stopped working, and the system failed in a resolution of 1600 x 1200. I reinstalled the monitor and display without success card drivers.  Can someone advice how to set the correct display for my LCD monitor resolution settings?

  Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum.

  The screen resolution is determined by the driver and the software configuration that is installed on your computer. If you are having problems with the driver, you can try to start safe mode and try to install the driver of this mode. The reason for this is to get the operating system to load the default generic display driver and then install the one you want. Be sure to remove all other drivers that were left on the system after installing the new.
