  • Unable to connect to the desktop computer running Windows 7 laptop running Windows 7, both in my home network, using remote desktop

My desktop (host) is running Win7 Pro and my (client) laptop is running Win 7 Home Premium. For the office, I went to the control panel and allows remote connections. When I try to connect with the laptop in my same home network, I get an error message: Remote Desktop cannot connect to the remote computer you for one of the following reasons:

    (1) remote access to the server is not enabled

    (2) the remote computer is disabled

    (3) the remote computer is not available on the network

Now, the computer is on and I can see what he listed as one of my computers on network. In fact, I accessed the command of remote desktop by right-clicking on the desktop in the list of networks and by selecting Remote Desktop in the menu dropdown.

Obviously, I am missing something or something wrong. Please help me to understand.

  • looking for safety on public wireless networks

Hello, I am a computer operating laptop dv7 and sometimes find me on official assistance (networks of coffee) is there a way to secure my spying eyes, maybe VPN data transmissions? Any thoughts appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

As you mentioned in your post, a VPN is probably the best answer.  A good example of one is at the link below.  It requires no extra software because it is purely a network profile and is easily implemented.  To connect via VPN, just connect to the Public network and then start the VPN connection which then tunnels through the first connection, encrypt your connection between your PC and the VPN server.  It is an ideal solution to ensure your privacy and security when using public networks.  There are free versions (but often with ads, etc.), but the one on the link below costs about $40 per year according to the exchange rate.

    http://www.SwissVPN.NET/

I've personally used this for the last three years and have always found it extremely reliable service.

Another point to mention is that if you connect through your VPN at home, make sure that you have a software firewall installed (I think you already have anyway) as VPN often pass straight through the hardware firewall in routers.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes

  • Looking for wireless cards compatible with bluetooth to HP 2000-2d62NR

Having satisfied the HP (Helpless * beep *) lines of Technical Support and Service the customer with NO results, I wonder if anyone can give me a list of compatible wireless adapter cards with built-in bluetooth.  I want to upgrade the card that came with my system.  Any help would be appreciated. I intend install myself, and I didn't necessarily need to buy it from HP.  The power installed on the system adapter is a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485

See Chapter 3 of the repair of your model.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-2000-2d00-notebook-PC-series/5375422/model/6550396/manuals

Those are the only ones that work through the white list of BIOS HP who used on all laptop computers until recently.

You don't have to buy the card of HP, but you have to buy one with the part number listed in the service manual, or it won't work.

Your best bet would be to get one on eBay by questioning by the HP part number.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-2150er: upgrading RAM. Looking for my laptop-compatible modules.

    Hello.

    I have now 2 x (2 Gb PC3-10700 667 MHz Hyundai Electronics - Hynix DDR3), CPU - Intel Core i5 520M, 2.40 GHz, motherboard - 3659 of Hewlett-Packard.
    You want to upgrade.
    Two questions:
1 is it true that my laptop is unable to operate with more than 8 GB of RAM, otherwise true - how much RAM can work with?
    2. If the 8 GB is the limit, what model of modules of RAM, can I use with my laptop?
    Thank you

I'm not 100% sure but the density RAM module is perhaps different from the original tracks:

We have a network of the issue of the standard with Active Directory.  We plan to take one of our employees and making them work from home.  Is it possible to simply take their workstation connected to Active Directory, and transport to their home, plug it into our network (via a VPN client) and have the user choose right there where they left (as if they were in the building on the real network)?  Has anyone tried this before?  How did it happen?

    Hello

    ·         What software you want to download?

    ·         You have an earlier version of the software installed on your computer?

    Method 1:

Try to download the software by disabling add-ons: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-vista/How-do-browser-add-ons-affect-my-computer

    Method2:

Try disabling the anti-virus and then check if you can download the program.

NOTE: make sure that you enable the antivirus protection as soon as the diagnosis is completed.

    Method3:

Reset Internet Explorer, and then try to download the file: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Reset-Internet-Explorer-7-settings

NOTE: Please note that reset the settings of Internet Explorer running resets all of the settings defined by the user, including those established by the installed extensions, toolbars and other add-ons for IE by default. This includes all the security, privacy and settings area. Also this will erase browsing history, delete all temporary Internet, cookies, form data files and especially all the passwords.

  • Try to use remote desktop to connect to a computer in safe mode with networking

I'm trying to troubleshoot a remotley pc on the network using remote desktop. I can connect properly, however, I want to continue to solve the problems with the pc remote in safe mode. When I choose to restart the pc in safe mode with network remote I am unable to connect to this computer by using remote desktop. Is there a certain config that I need to put in place inside msconfig which will restart in safe mode and I would still like access to connect to this computer by using remote desktop. Thank you.

    Hello

    @hoosier1077

Assuming this isn't a general network problem (such as restarting changes to the local IP address on the remote computer).

    Maybe this can help.

So I followed the instructions and created a new host name.  I don't know what to do with it.  Is it wrong?

    Hi Yes,

Remote Desktop, included with Windows XP Professional, allows you to connect to your computer over the Internet from any computer, Pocket PC or Smartphone. Once connected, Remote Desktop gives you the keyboard and mouse control of your computer while showing you everything that happens on the screen.

  • Looking for compatible DVD/RW drive for Satellite A30

    Hello!
Like most people who have the A30 laptop - 303 with Mat * a STRANGE model UJ-811, the same thing with me I need to change this player and I'm looking for a compatible model.

The only one I know is the type of connection is atapi and we need the same size for the new player be compatible with the former, and if someone knows something else about the compatibility of the optical readers which would be very useful to me (and specific for this model)
    Thank you

    Hello

It s hard to say which drive is really compatible since we all saw the Don t in the technical sheets of our machines. So, in this case, you yourself or you wait on someone who has already traded his drive and could tell you that fits into your machine.

Maybe the best would be to buy a toshiba or a carpet * control of your machine, because her are commonly used in the notbooks toshiba.
I think that if you set these two manufacturers as a "purchase policy" while the rest would be easier than you think.

    Greetings
