Looking for Hyperion accommodation thoughts/recommendations

Hello

I'm hoping to get some opinions/thoughts on some of the companies providing services for Hyperion application hosting. We are looking to move our Hyperion environment for a hosted service where someone could monitor the equipment, provide certain services for Hyperion tuning specific infrastructure and apply patches and upgrades. I know there is a service provided by Oracle and secure 24 but any other suggestions? Everyone works with a hosting company and have your comments or suggestions.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
Tiffany

I have work with Secure 24 - they are as good as any choice in the world of hosting.

Realize that you usually receive material assistance and infrastructure not a turnkey service that has an application deep functional knowledge. They can all patch, monitor and protect the environment.

Waiting for them to be expert deep request usually is wishful thinking. If it is your expectation, you should look for a hosting provider and a provider of managed services that may be of two separate companies.

In addition, I would avoid all hosts with no dedicated/recovery infrastructure after a disaster. for example if the hosting provider relies on a cloud for example platform Amazon EC2/Rackspace so I could watch another provider. Oracle and Secure-24 have their own dedicated hardware and DR sites.

Kind regards

  • Looking for non-specific hardware recommendations

Let's start by saying that I am a passionate amateur photographer who uses Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 4 on a Windows laptop with the following specs:

    Windows 7 Home Premiium

    Intel i7 Q820 1.73 GHz

    8G ram

750 GB 7200 RPM hard drive

    ATI Mobility Radeon HD4670

    Bamboo graphic tablet

Dell SP2009W 20 "monitor as main display - screen laptop as secondary display

While this works fine for now, more I learn and use Photoshop, the slower and more boring becomes my system.  It is not uncommon for the registration of a tiff file that is unique to the PS to take 5 minutes.  I am considering the construction of a new computer.  I am convinced that I am able to build a computer but a large number of material choice is where I get confused.  In addition, I don't know what the most important components to run the faster PS.

I read through a bunch of messages from people asking "is this system, all good for Photoshop" or "what video card is better 4xx or 5xx" etc.  But this isn't really what I need to know.  Are there general advice on what is most important for the PS?  RAM?  GHz? Discs work?

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

If you set up a system yourself around a motherboard you can create a monster for 3 grand.

A really powerful combination can be a motherboard based on 37xx i7 or i7-39xx, (which has high speed), 16 GB of RAM with space to grow, 4 vector x OCZ 256 GB SSD in RAID 0 for the system, applications and data to work, more a HDD spinning for low-access to data (for example, your library), ATI Radeon HD 7850.

Another possibility (which is the route I usually take) is to find positions of high-end just-end of the lease (as Dell details) on eBay.  Most people don't realize what a previous generation system, with all parts of higher-range can outperform models of this generation with something else that the highest parts of the range, and the price can be quite a bit less.

    For example: I bought these people before: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Precision-T5500-Dual-2x-Six-Core-6C-Xeon-2-80GHz-X5660-Quadro - 4000-8 - 310 - / 251205144017? pt = Desktop_PCs & hash = item3a7cfe4dd1

You might ask to downgrade the video card Quadro 4000 for a basic model, get your own for example, ATI 7850 and spend the savings on the SSD.

  • Newb looking for tutorials for Dev Tool Box

    Hello, Experts.

I bought the box for CS3 developer tools and would like to build relatively simple forms and databases. Example, I would create selector or drop-down list boxes that come from a table I can update (Add/Remove) remotely. I guess there are many methods to do this. I would also like to be able to create databases of register of login/password.

I'm looking for your favorite or recommended type tutorials 'step 1...' so that I can begin the journey of a thousand miles. Preferably, these how-too is also would have something to do with the Toolbox CS3; but not necessarily required.

    Any suggestions appreciated greately!

    r

PS, please include your preferred method of data (i.e. CF, php, etc.). I just wish in the trend. Since it's a thousand miles, I would choose a path that is going to stick around. Thank you.

    Hello

have you ever seen forums Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox, which will tell you also to several tutorials? However, please post ANY issues in the forums, that s, where basic to get more specific help than here.

  • Looking for HDD recommendation

I have a Macbook late 2007 and its HARD disk is dead. I'm looking for help with if you guys can suggest me a brand of HARD drive I can use on the inside. I saw ifixit.com and she a Toshiba 500 GB 2.5 MQ01ABF050. Hard drives as recommended. Is there another model?

I've seen a few different brand of Toshiba drive HARD internal as MQ01ABD050, would that work?

    Help, please.

This depends on how much storage you need.  You can spend with a HARD drive classic if you need a lot of storage up to 1 TB, or if you want you can go with an SSD of speed. You can get a HARD drive of 1 TB for what it can cost to buy a 250 GB SSD.  You can get the SSD more great but costs as much as your computer is interesting.

If you are interested in an SSD is a good starting point: https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/ssd/owc you do not have to buy from them, but it will tell you everything that is involved with the installation of an SSD.

For a HARD disk, I went with a Hitachi model in my MacBook.  I read reviews of web on sites like Amazon when purchasing technology (keeping in mind the people who do not have problems with a model are less likely to view only those who do and deserves to be done reading the negative comments to see if their complaint is justified), so any model will have some negative reviews.  For portable players with the ability, I wanted THAT HGST seemed to have the best odds.

If you go for a HARD drive one other thing to consider is the rotation speed. Your old computer has a drive 5400 RPM in there. This consumes less energy and work more cost but, making it slower.  If you do not have to be also considering the battery life or temperature, you could install a 7200 RPM drive.

  • Please recommend what to look for in an external drive for my Macbook Pro

I don't have a lot of data, but I'm a writer and want a back up of novels and photos and photo projects. Can someone knowledgeable tell me what to look for in an external drive? I said to get one with a fan, but have seen highly recommended to those without a fan.

    Thanks in advance,

    NanaCA

If portability is a requirement, such as this storage drives will do:

    http://eShop.MacSales.com/shop/FireWire/on-the-go

If the HARD disk will live on the desktop all the time, your choice increases.  Here are a few more examples (and there are more):

    http://eShop.MacSales.com/shop/FireWire/EliteALmini/eSATA-FW800-FW400-USB

    http://eShop.MacSales.com/shop/FireWire/1394/USB/EliteAL/eSATA_FW800_FW400_USB

The fans are not always essential if the design of the enclosure is made correctly.

There are many publishers and other options are available, but OWC is a good seller with excellent customer support.

Note that anything that is stored on a disk external HARD must also be safeguarded if the data has the value.

    Ciao.

  • 3 year system - looking for recommendations of upgrade

    Hi all

Instant Messaging user a CC now and work on a system I built 3 years ago.  I realized that this version was not a wise version, but I'm stuck with all the components and trying to see what I can do to get the most out there without having to replace my MOBO or CPU.  I use almost everything what offers the CC (PS, I, ID, PR, AR, at, LR, DW, Grade speed and facilitate dashboard).  I'm also the Creative Director and a Solutions support person for my business so I use this platform for more than a few Adobe apps (but none are as intensive process as well as the Adobe applications).

    The system is:

    • OS: Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
    • Mobo: Asus Z9PE-D8 WS
    • CPU: Intel (r) Dual Xeon CPU E5-2670 0 to 2.60 GHz, 2601 Mhz, 8 Lossnay, 16 logical processors
    • RAM: 64 GB (32 per CPU)
    • GPU: Maximus Configuration using a Quadro 4000 + Tesla C2075.  Also added a Quadro K2000 at a later date to add an outing for a 3rd monitor.

    For hard disks:

    • Samsung 830 (500 GB) for OS + Apps
    • 1 WD 1 TB Raptor drive for Lightroom files
    • 1 WD 1 TB Raptor drive for caching
    • 1 WD 1 TB Raptor Drive for previews
    • 2 WD 1 TB Raptor drive in Raid 0 for all media files using the Marvell controller mobo

All housed in a casing Cooler Master Cosmos II and a 1300 watt Antec HCP Platinum PSU.

I sure I went over to this system but to reinvest on a motherboard + processor is not my intention immediately.  I feel that my system does not balanced correctly in order to give me the performance, I'm looking for.   Maybe its to use the integrated Marvell controller?  I'm not sure.  However I like to swap my HARD drives or to add a Raid Controller or Exchange my GPU with the Titans (or something that will make this quick platform).

    All recommendations are much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Lo

Your CPU / RAM do an outstanding job.  My suggestion is to get a large GTX graphic card and go with SSD on your storage system. Here you two points of weakness

Your intensive PPBM8 of CPU score is in the top 10% of the current scores PPBM8

Your GPU of PPBM8 intensive score is down 5% current scores PPBM8

Your score of intensive PPBM8 of disc is in the in half lower current scores PPBM8

  • Looking for accommodation of new suggestions.

So CF 2016 comes out. I've been with Hosting.com for many years and in the beginning, their support was great. In recent years, not so much. So, I'm looking to get quotes for my next VPS. Looking for suggestions. I saw the possible Amazon stuff but don't know much about how it works.
I pay about $550 a month for a VPS which is...

    4vCPU

180 GB HARD drive with daily backups

    8 GB RAM

(the software is all their licenses)

    Windows Server 2008, Datacenter Edition

    ColdFusion9 Enterprise

    MS SQL Web Edition

Cloud (which currently is defective) firewall

You are looking for something comparable or lower than the price, and of course 24/7/365 service.

    Suggestions?

HOSTEK.com is fantastic.  Top notch support, friendly staff, 99.9% of the fast connections.

    V/r,

    ^_^

  • Processor speeds recommended for Hyperion 11.1.1.3 on IBM P6 Machine

    Hello
Is the way to calculate the speed of processor required for Hyperion 11.1.1.3 for 50 users on a Machine of IBM P6? The documentation says only in RAM and required disk space. Any help in this matter would be much appreciated...

Usually for a Machine of 6 can watch between two and four cores depending on the type of load will be on the system.

Assuming that this will be the host of Essbase a faster clock speed is always better - 6 power have a very pretty clock speed compared to any other processor of the seller so don't stress too much about a perfect clock speed.

  • HP ENVY 700-230ea desktop: looking for advice to update for my HP ENVY 700-230ea desktop computer

    Hi all

looking for advice to update for my 2 year old want 700-230ea descktop

    thought in the following way

Replace the boot wth drive a fast SSD

Doubling of the Ram of 16 MB to 32 MB

    Add a better graphics card.

Just struggling to find compatibel points, so everyone has any idea, what type of memory should I watch so that its compatibility with the existing 2, 8 meg sticks

SSDS seem to be a source of confusion that mine field that I should look for use as boot drive.

Graphics card will be limited to what the power supply can turn off, someone knows what it supports current graphics cards go.

Thanks for any help on this.

    @Paul80, welcome to the forum.

Here's memory and SSD who are recommended by Crucial memory.  They make great products for OEM computers.  You have to open the case and check of installed memory brand.  Then contact the Crucial Tech Support to see if their memory will be compatible.  The main problem with the addition of memory, it's buy the memory that is compatible with existing modules.

The best way to install the SSD, it's letting the existing connected HARD disk as it came from the factory.  Connect the SSD drive to another SATA port on the motherboard.  Install the cloning software that you will use on the HARD drive.  Open and select the SSD as target disk.  Once the SSD is cloned, disconnect the HARD drive and start.  The start of shoul for the SSD system.

As for a video, here is a card that has very good reviews.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.  It should work well with your power supply unit (PSU).

Please click on the button + Thumbs up if I helped you and click on accept as Solution If your problem is resolved.

  • Looking for guidance, Clip Zip or Clip +.

My beloved clip zip just died.  I thought to replace it with the new sport clip, but a check of the forums told me it would be disappointing to at least.  I use my zip primarily audio books and have an extensive library of books on several chips for my Zip.  As I wanted to replace the Zip file, I discovered that it seems to be abandoned.  I can find a little but they are twice what I paid initially for mine and if Sansa is not making more...  Anyway, it also seems the Clip + is still in production.  Can someone tell me, the Clip will be + play chips I put in place for the Zip.  That what I lose in the way?  You recommend staying with the Zip for as long as I can get a new one to last?  I started with a simple clip and improved because of the chip.  Albumn art and color are not important to me, but with success to listening to audio books without editing each track is.  I'm looking for advice from my fellow lovers of Zip.  Thank you

That's the beautiful thing about the microSD - can exchange cards in and out, including between the actors (including the Clip + and Clip Zip).

  • Need help on choosing 11.1.2.3.500 or 11.1.2.4 for Hyperion financial planning project

Need help on choosing 11.1.2.3.500 or 11.1.2.4 for Hyperion planning project implementation.

Currently, we are debating on the following points, so need for expert advice, if someone have already done this.

    • As all our previous implementation are on 11.1.2.3 500 and we know with certainty, it is stable
    • 11.1.2.4 is fairly new in the market

That said y at - he already put 11.1.2.4 implemented for the PPP in particular, if yes how is the stability. As we have hard time have no place for the bugs that deals.

    Thanks in advance,

    Deker P.

I don't think that 11.1.2.3.500 for planning is massively different the 11.1.2.4 so for stability, they should be similar, the improvements are mainly around the simplified interface.

I would recommend going with 11.1.2.4, he is already on his third patch for the planning so I hope that all important questions will have been met, if there is a concern, then perhaps you should look at POC.

    See you soon

  • Looking for hosting companies with web form processing scripts

I'm a beginner when it comes to creating web pages.  I have created a website for the first time and am looking for a Web host that can provide the form processing scripts.  I'll try HostGator, but when I asked about it on their online chat, the lady who answered said that they do not have what I was looking for.  Due to technical difficulties with their online chat program, I don't have a chance to ask follow-up questions, but I had the impression that the Lady, that I was talking knew what she was talking about.

I would ask here.  It is my understanding that if you have forms on your website, you need form processing scripts to run.  Can you name of hosts which can give them?  Is this something that most web hosting companies can normally provide?  Are there any that you would recommend for someone like me who will use forms on their web site?

I think your priorities for web hosting should be based on other more important criteria - availability, services, space and affordability.

Canned scripts are a secondary issue.  Practice for beginners, Yes.  But generally UN os without any room for customization.

Not my favorite web host, GoDaddy shared Linux Web & map of classic accommodation offers 2 PHP scripts for forms of contact only.

With the help of our shippers of PHP on the Web & hosting classic form. Web & classic accommodation - GoDaddy help

If you make detailed surveys or questionnaires, you will need custom scripts that does any hosting company.   You buy or build scripts to your specifications.

What to look for in the accommodation:

    • Shared on Linux/Apache servers
    • Dedicated IP address
    • E-mail accounts
    • Allocation of storage, memory & sufficient bandwidth
    • PHP MySQL & or Maria db
    • 24/7 technical support
    • History of reliable availability

    Other optional bells & whistles:

    • C - Panel
    • phpMyAdmin
    • Database Wizard
    • 1 - click installation of WordPress & others
    • Maintenance plan
    • Free upgrades patches / security
