  Magnets are used in computers for various purposes, for example in the hard drives. Several parts of a laptop computer may be affected by a magnet. More commonly known as material element affected by magnets is the hard drive.

  That is not exactly true. Hard drives are well protected against most of magnetism, and most even use a magnet to turn, but many strong magnets and electromagnets can and will damage a hard drive. More likely to be affected is the BIOS of your computer (Input\Output base system) ROM, which shows how to use the basic components and boot into the operating system to your motherboard.

  So it's best to avoid placing computers\laptops close to all these devices.

  Maybe it's a bit off-topic, but I tried to get my Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse 5000 works with Windows 7 and had a question about the mouse is.

  Hello

  Just after my last post, I think I found just the "top secret" handshake :)...

  For the record:

  (1) when you turn on the mouse, the light on top of the mouse (green).  It doesn't turn on immediately, but takes a second or so.

  (2) AFTER the light turns green, THEN press and hold down the button on the bottom, until the light on top starts to blink green/red, which indicates that the mouse is discoverable.

  I tried the procedure above several times now and have been able to get the mouse in discoverable mode successfully every time.

  I think that what I was doing wrong before, it was only I pressing me the button immediately after turn the mouse (that is, in particular, probably before the green light came).

  Hello! I know there's another similar thread, but because the OP is vague, I thought I'd be a little more specific on the issues I'm having, especially working with images of ProRes LT Shogun 4 k on a PC.

  I'm under the last 8.2 first

  I have windows 8.1 Pro PC with Intel i7 5930 k CPU, 32 GB RAM, GTX GPUS (latest driver) 970 and OS on a SSD and project files on a HARD RAID0 drive. Installation fine by ADK.

  Just saved a few clips on my new Shogun running firmware 6.01 connected to my Sony A7s. Recorded in 4K ProRes LT.

  Copied the files on my computer and when I double click on it it opens Quicktime 7 and they play very well.

  When I import into first on my PC. I drop them on the timeline and it changes the sequence settings which I am hosting. And then I can't really add more clips after that and it goes down from there with clips begins to show the yellow message "Media pending". They won't play well after messing around a bit.

  I then did the exact steps same on my MacBook Pro 2012 retina running Mavericks OSX (and CC 8.2) and it works fine. No problem at all. I can import and play with ALL the files with no delay, issues, media in the meantime or something like that. Perfect.

  I noticed that the generated sequence settings are automatically different on my PC that on mac still clip was dropped on an empty timeline.

  Here is the sequence settings PC that creates the clip (which has problems):

  And here's the sequence settings created when I drop this SAME clip on a timeline empty on a MAC running the same version of first (8.2) and has all the problems:

  

  The sequence settings Mac look much better, and the video codec preview seems to be good.

  Any ideas?

  So, I got it to work. By downloading Desktop Blackmagic video from their site, first began to work very well with these clips. I think that Miraizon Quicktime ProRes could have been part of the reason it worked well at the start. I'm not sure. It was the latest Quicktime software I had downloaded so maybe he wasn't playing nice with first in how he plays these quicktime files, no matter what I changed in the first sequence settings. If I had reinstalled Quicktime 7 or, when I upgraded to Pro, had I then reinstalled QT once again, perhaps that would have solved it because maybe first would have gone back using quicktime player to the default playback and preview these MOV files. But no matter, install the Blackmagic fixed Desktop video.

  I realized on my Mac that I had recently installed software BMD to use their switcher and in sequence settings, I've shown in the screenshot above of the MAC, first chose 'Blackmagic Quicktime Movie' automatically as the video preview format. Now, after installing the Blackmagic Desktop video player on my PC, first now can play and edit these files very well, no matter what the video format preview is in sequence of first settings (eg. I - frame or GoPro Cineform). It all works while in front of her, just didn't work. If I drop a clip on the timeline empty now on my PC, the look of parameters generated sequence exactly as they did when it did not work (see screenshot above), only now it works fine.

  As of many SMEs, we feel the pressure from DAS and get on some sort of SAN.  We are planning an implementation of iSCSI SAN, which will probably (at least partially) kind of VSA to take advantage of our DAS ability in the new iSCSI environment.

  Tools > Protection > encrypt< encrypt="" with="">

  Select YES to change security.

  Opens in a new window:

  Do not select NOT open the Document (or will require a password to open the document.)

  SELECT: Permissions (check the box next to ' Restrict editing and printing of the document. ")

  Change the following 2 settings in the drop-down list box:

  Printing allowed: select high resolution

  Changes allowed: select commenting on, fill in the fields on the form and signature of signature fields
  Selected leave: "enable access text for playback devices to screen for people with visual impairments.

  Change password Permissions (insert a password)

  Leave all the other settings alone in 'Options '.
