loop of reboot after trying to reinstall sp2

I have a 7550 Presario with Windows XP, which has been updated at least SP2 and IE8... after the infamous 10 updates / 02 / 10, my computer to bike to the safe mode screen... I couldn't get Mode safe, instead, she would simply keep a backward loop.

Had no other choice than to go into the system recovery, which, after a reboot reloaded a problem so that I got a year - does not allow me to open the program files.
I went in Safe Mode, once again, right Clicked Program Files and changed ownership to me (to another profile named Administrator, with 's'. This re - enabled me to open files.

Finally rebooted, but the SP1 and the best Windows I have now is IE6.

If I try to download the basics of security, then SP2, I get an error indicates a Windows file is damaged or missing after SP2 install - I return to the loop to restart, the screen of "Presario" factory, giving me the choice (or chance) to make a recovery of the system (F10).

Because after the recovery, I was still able to get safe mode and the Console recovery (but NOT from a boot disk) I tried the fix posted from the WINDOWS command line /: CHDIR $NtUninstallKB977165$ \spuninst - then - BATCH spuninst.text - then - exit

It sent me to the loop to restart with the option "Presario" of output or F10 Recovery (research so that he went to loading Windows for about 5 seconds).

I am currently in SP1 and IE6 that presents only the basic features, but is extremely unstable (tempremental).

Norton has been deleted, so all the other preloaded junk factory.

I noticed that I have about 20 "WINDOWS XP PATCHES including abot 6 or 7 containing (SP2) in their name" in the Remove programs in the control panel section. I have not deleted one of these.

Can anyone help?

I would back up all your important data so that you are always been lucky, and then perform a reinstall of the OS, etc.. It appears from your description, that you have made a resumption of non-destructive control that allows at least back up your files, etc. before doing a complete restoration.

I know that's not what you want to hear. TaurArian [MVP] 2005-2010 - Update Services

Follow the info below to try a Startup Repair:

As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

If yours falls into the category above, download the ISO on the link provided and make a bootdisk of it.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

  • Computer goes to a loop of reboot after Windows update

After a complete restoration of the PC, tried to install the update to windows, my computer goes to a restart and stuck loop installation of updates stage 3 of 3 so went ahead and made a factory again restore but the windows updates causing the problem, it is stuck in a reboot loop suggestions. Is it because of damaged hard drive files?

Perform a restart from a hard stop. Press the f8 key until you get to the screen asking questions on safe mode. Select repair. Then, you should find a system restore option. Select it. Spend until it gives you a choice of dates, then select a date before the update. This worked like a charm and does not lose any data. Turn off your automatic installation of updates option.

You mean that you can not BOOT from the CD and start the installation above?

Do and start with a Darik Boot and Nuke CD, wipe off the NEW drive (make sure that it is the only one in there and you want NOTHING on it) and after you have wiped it off, start your process (boot CD, etc.).

  • RESOLVED: Loop of reboot after installing new disks in RAID of PERC S100

A customer has a Dell T110 (with a PERC S100 RAID controller) running Windows 2008 R2. The system has two disks: a reader not RAID (C :) running the operating system and a RAID1 drive (E :) sharing data with network folders.) We need to install again, larger disks for the RAID.

I thought I could backup the data on the RAID drive existing (e), install new disks, built a new table in the S100 (VDM) virtual disk boot manager, boot into the operating system, create the new partition for the data replaced E: drive and copy the data back. This was not the case. After installing the new disks and the new array of construction (which is reported as "READY (R/W)" when starting, Windows starts all the way in "press CTRL-ALT-DEL to log". After two or three seconds, the system reboots. The same thing happens when I try to start safe mode. The system IS NOT automatically booted to the Recovery Console. He never seems to know that an error occurred and the system was not shut down normally.

I booted into the Recovery Console, installed the drivers for the PERC S100 and run recovery to start without success. Also in the Recovery Console, I ran 'chkdsk /f E:\. ' (remarkably, the drive letter for the data drive remained the same), and no error has been reported. I also reinstalled drivers S100 of the recovery using DISM Console, but that changed nothing.

I started to 8.1 Windows PE, installed drivers S100, formatted the virtual disk, copied the data which he, and everything works fine. The only problem is when I try to boot from the system drive (which has no problem) with the new installed disks.

When I put the old records, the system boots normally with no reconfiguration required. The VDM to start automatically remembers the discs and the table. Nothing shows up in the logs event indicating that there was an error during startup. (Ntbtlog.txt) start-up newspaper, after several boots with the new drives in place, indicates that the system restarts at various times during loading drivers. There is nothing coherent in the startup log to indicate what the problem is.

The only clue I have is that, during the startup, the VDM reports the virtual drive of origin as 'NORMAL (R/W)' and the new virtual disk as "READY (R/W)", but I'm not sure of the significance of this difference or if it suggests a solution.

I can't find clues in all the newspapers about what may be the problem. If anyone has any suggestions, I will be grateful. I'll be especially grateful for the wacky suggestions.

I ran it. Nothing appeared unusual. However, I does not solve the problem.

I connect the new readers to the same SATA ports as the old records. When I connect one of them to the SATA port that had not been used as part of the original painting, the VDM S100 reported the original failed array, because readers were is more connected and showed the new table as a LOAN. The operating system then started normally.

The trick, it seems that you should remove the old virtual disk before connecting the new disks on the same ports.

  • Satellite P500 - loop of reboot after using the Toshiba Recovery disk

    Hello

I have a problem recovery SATELLITE P500. I did the recovery disks. It starts ok on the recovery disk and format the hard drive and copy the disks to the hard drive. Then, he begins installing windows and restarts.

He then goes to a loop

    (2) Toshiba banner saying please wait... Second installation may take several minutes. Pleae do not interrupt or shut down the computer!
    (3) Windows logo
    (4) close...
    (5) restarts and goes to 1)

It would be great if someone could help me with this.

    Thank you very much
    Softari

    Hello

I noticed the same thing on my Satellite P500, but I must say it s not a problem, it of quite normal. The computer will restart several times (10 times or more) to complete the installation.

You know that a lot of drivers/tools will be installed and some restart is required to configure everything properly.

So don t interrupt the installation of recovery, just wait a little longer and a coffee. Everything is done automatically and your laptop is reinstalled with the factory settings. :)

  • Stuck on the screen saying 'Shutting Down' after trying to install SP2 on Vista

So I got problems with my Windows Vista. The day passed or it would freeze completely, all programs not responding. I looked around, and he said that a possible solution would be to install SP2. So I did. As he installed the first of 3 updates, it got stuck at 44% for an hour. Then, she moved to say Shutting Down, which was during the last two hours.

I don't know what to do now. During the installation, he said do not put off your computer, and while it is said that is no longer, I'm still hesitant to do. Any ideas on what I should do? In addition, would set the gel I described previously by SP2? Or do you know of anything that could be causing it?

    Thank you

  • Endless loop of reboot after Win Update. How can I get out of it?

I just ran Windows Update to update my Acer 3680 running Vista Basic. Downloaded 33 installed files some, then went into a reboot.  The computer keeps indicating "configuration of updates: Stage3 3-0% complete.". Do not turn off your computer. I suspect tries to run a corrupt file, it cannot go beyond enforcement of the boot file which has been modified to run it.  F8 boot options (safe mode, etc.) just go back to the same thing.

    Visa update problem

After trying to install the updates.  my computer is now stuck in constant reboot mode while showing "Configuring updates 3 of 3 0%, do not turn off your computer.  I tried to follow the instructions provided here because it seemed to be the same problem.  But when I restart and hold down the F8 key so I can boot into safe mode, I tried selecting safe mode and I get the same results, and I tried again by selecting the option 'Disable automatic reboot' which seems to be an option on the same page with the option of safe mode.  Whatever it is, the same message comes back and I can never get to where I can see my desktop to click 'start '.  I can't get out of this cycle.  I installed the update because it said I needed to install it.

Turn off your computer by holding the power button for about 20 seconds.

Start your computer in safe mode: press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure:

    • Click Start
    • Click on Control Panel
    • Click on system and Maintenance link.
    • Click on the system link
    • In the left pane, click Advanced system settings
    • Locate the startup and recovery area, click the settings button.
    • In the startup and recovery window, uncheck the box next to automatically restart.
    • Click OK in the startup and recovery window
    • Click OK in the System Properties window
    • Close the system window

After that... While STAYING in safe mode I do a system restore and maybe try a manual install of the update later.

For the sake of space I refer you to the article about how to proceed.
