Follow these steps-
- Go to Messages
- General options
- SMS and email inboxes: separate

My 'text' icon disappeared recently in the menu "All". Apparently, it was replaced by a second 'contacts' icon Fortunately I got it in the "Favorites" menu as well, so I can still access them. However, it is annoying to have to return to the Favorites menu just to read a text message.
I have since put it so text messages go to the Inbox of General messages, but I would have preferred to return the icon. I tried to pull the battery nothing works. Any suggestions?
OK, do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most defects and errors of operating system, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.
Now see if this icon corrects itself, since you think it could have "transformed into" bad one.
I have a BB 9300 on Tmobile with the OS 6.0. It seems as if my outgoing text messages are not sent. When I press send a little red clock icon appears next to the text message. What does that mean?
try to turn off the phone and take out the battery
check if your sms centre number does not match what your company uses
-Click on "messages" icon - menu button - "options" - "SMS" - and check your service center number is correct
My text message icon is gone, I suspect when I deleted an app that it happened somehow. How can I get that back?
Hi Jose, try hard to restart 1 or 2 times (by pulling the battery while the device is on nd, replace after 1 min.). If the problem solved so OK otherwise I prefer clean Reload your OS via the BB desktop software. Click as if resolved.
I am a new blackberry user. A day under my belt. I followed the implementation of Wizard for email and all is well. When you are prompted to set up a personal email, I followed the instructions and successfully put in place an email account with my personal email address. I also have an email account with my business e-mail address. The problem is that there is now icon 3 'messages' on the homepage of blackberry on my device. The first has two email my personal and business e-mail, which makes sense because I have configured my accounts by ATT and Outlook to forward my email in my personal email. But then, there is a message icon just for my personal e-mail and another just for my company email. If I delete the last two icons, one left? It's really the only one I need, but I don't know why I had three icons for messages since I only implemented the system for two. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Do not DELETE them, hide them. Go to one and press Menu > hide. So make sure that you press Menu again and that WHOLE SHOW is not checked.
I have a string of text messages and wonder if I can connect my blackberry to my computer, and then access and message strings printed text (from the oldest to the most recent).
This print out would be used to verify the statements made by various parties to certain dates at times (anticipating which is part of the message, then sending, reception, etc.)
Unfortunately, this is not possible. He was formerly of 3rd party applications you want to install on a pc that can read the backup files that makes Desktop Manager, but most of them do not last long until the developer no longer supports the application.
My wife has the message at the top of his phone icon and I can't make it go away? It shows one (1) next to his email, (1) in his messages icon, but there is nothing there? His email and SMS/MMS is combined, I tried to separate them, but still can not find it. I checked the saved messages also. He drives her crazy seeing her here and not see a message. Can you help me?
In my view, that's a little dramatic, there are several things to do or check first, a reset to factory settings:
Try these options:
* Hard Reset BlackBerry by holding ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or removing and reinserting the battery)
Messages > saved Messages
Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
* Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
* Clean and reload your OS.
I received a SMS to say that I have a new voice message. I have read the text message and then deleted, but in my opinion, he said that I got a text from my voicemail number.
If I now click on the text message in my view, it opens a window to compose a new Message with my voicemail phone number in the field. (The icon in my notification folder is now essentially a shortcut to send a text message to my voicemail).
I can't delete this message or this 'shortcut' at all.
Any help or suggestion?
Have you tried a battery pull? Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds then put again?
Hello, I have new tones, that I downloaded on my BlackBerry Tour 9630. I tried to set a different tone on an incoming text message, but it still plays the one pre-loaded on it. How can I change the tone of the text to another message that I downloaded, I tested the tone on incoming call, but I would only it the text because I got the tone I want on a call. Thanks for any info.
What do you have? There was a problem when the tour is out, but when they have upgraded to 5.0 that fixed it. However, the last update brings back the problem.
Not sure if anyone has this error or if there is a way to simply refresh and delete it but I have a weird problem.
The bar at the top of the screen between "select profile" and the "magnifying glass search" where notifications pop up do not know what called this page but in this slide to the bottom of the screen in text Messages, I have a text message which is housed to unread. Even if I deleted the text message and I tried everything to try to make it disappear. Today, I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that will not clear as well. Does anyone else have this problem and find a way to refresh and get ride of it? I have tried turning the unit on and off a few times, but does not resolve the issue.
Thanks for the suggestions would be much appreciated.
mine did, sometimes ill leave it there and it will go away or I just reboot my phone with the ALT + SHIFT + DELETE key combination
I have Storm1 with OS v188.8.131.529. My problem is that a new message (message 1) icon in the home screen. I checked my Inbox, Inbox SMS and MMS. There are no new messages. It began yesterday, after I disabled all connections, for about 2 1/2 hours. When I turned on all the connections, it is there. Just below the indicator of charge of battery, a yellow envelope with a white/red star in the upper right corner. Even if new messages come, I remove these, 'that' new message icon is there. How can I get rid of him?
I apologize for the forums. I found a way to rid the new icon by looking in the other solutions listed in past posts.
I seem to have lost my text icon. I can send texts by xyz/send my contacts/SMS and see the answer, but if someone sends me a text I have no way of knowing.
Can someone help me.
Welcome to the community
On your home screen, press MENU (icon blackberry), scroll down to the bottom where you will see the ICON SHOW ALL option > mark it by pressing ENTER , search for your homescreen also in different folders.
IF you don't try a battery pull reboot i; e. While the device is powered out of the expectation of the battery for 1 min. then reinsert it wait until your device restarts.
Click as if the problem resolves.
The folder icon small accompanied by 1 to 1 messages unread, remains on the top of the screen next to the clock. There are no unread messages in the Inbox. I can't locate a deleted folder where I could have deleted unread for an email. How can I delete this folder.
Thanks for the help.
henrib, Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.
Not looking for a record, but rather one message unread.
Tips to clear the message unread... try them in the order.
If you have a new icon rogue Message on your home screen, or a negative number (-1), one of these solutions could erase or reset:
Try these options:
My Blackberry Curve 9330 running OS6 just started getting strange messages appear on the home screen next to the icon of notification by e-mail under the time display.
The first time was this morning when I had a red triangle with exclamation point white icon with the number 54 next to him. The only way to clear the error was with a battery pull. The second error came that night when I heard a long and extended BlackBerry beep and a red circle with a white exclamation point icon with a 1 next to him appeared in the notification on the top bar where the previous error icon had been.
My questions are:
- What do these error icons mean?
- Where can I find documentation that explains these icons?
- What, if anything, can I do to correct this / these problems?
I found the problem. It was not at all an error message. I installed the AccuWeather for Blackberry app and discovered that this program is the culprit. AccuWeather's weather alert notification icons that appear in the notification bar.
When I text and the message is send there is usually a symbol that resembles a signal wifi next to my name of recipients. Then the message is finished sending and a check mark appears. But today, there was a red clock symbol with your hands at 12 and 3. What does that mean?
This red watch means that it is pending or in progress - not sent.
This eventually turn to a checkmark in a sent message? If this isn't the case, perform a simple reboot:
With the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.
