Hello

If you go to control panel, options files, and then click on the radio button that say to show all hidden files, everything will be displayed, and then you change the hidden on any attribute. Not too sure on how to do it.

  • Lost desktop Icons & files

I have a laptop Dell 32-bit with Windows Vista, I lost my desktop icons and other files such as images, Disk Defragmenter, System Restore etc. In order for me right now to get on the Internet, I have to type in Internet Explorer, on the Start button, in order to get online.  I think that my computer crashed? I'm not a computer expert but I think that if I reinstall the disc that came with my computer, I have my computer running as it did before. What should I do before installing the factory disk, installing programs from drive to plant, it will take care of my problem? Thank you!

  • Lost my desktop icons!

I have a laptop Equium A60 and lost all the icons on my desktop. I can find them by going via start, programs. Any ideas on how to recover my office?

    Hello

Your question seems very strange and I can t believe that the icons are hidden with no intervention.
I think that you have accidentally disabled the option show desktop icons.
In any case, please right-click on the desktop and choose Arrange icons by
(I think that it s an option of fist on the top of this menu) Then you should see the option called show desktop icons. Please turn it on.

After this procedure, all the icons should reappear.

Open your registry database and find the key below.

Create a new DWORD value named "NoActiveDesktop", and set the new value to equal "1" to enable the restriction or "0" to disable the restriction.

This restriction can be used either on a basis by individual user by adding it to HKEY_CURRENT_USER or on a computer wide basis by adding it to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

    (Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
    NoActiveDesktop REG_DWORD 0x00000001 (1)
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\...
    Registry settings
    User key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
    Explorer]
    Key system: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
    Explorer]
    Value name: NoActiveDesktop
    Data type: REG_DWORD (DWORD value)

Value data: (0 = disable restriction, 1 = enable restriction)

You can try this and make sure you back up everything first to register, create a point of restoration before the attempt, restart after changing. Open the registry, check to see if the key is there.

If you see this on your desktop, it is not a Windows application. It's a Dell? Are you referring to the Dell docking station?

Start | All programs | Dell folder. The Dell Dock is listed here? If no, go to: start | Search and type Dell Dock. A bit of luck with that?

If you have lost your machine, you can download it here.

    First try the easiest method:
Right-click on the free space of the desktop > click View > click on the Show Desktop icons.

If that's not the answer, try the following suggestions...

1 do a system restore. Choice of date where all your desktop icons were present and functional as your restore point.

Start button > Search box, type System Restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

    2. rebuild your cache of icons:
