Lost favorites

When I had to do a recovery maneuver, I lost all my "Favorites" on my computer.  How to deepen those back?

Hello

I'm sorry, but if you were doing a recovery to factory settings, favorites are lost, as is the rest of yours that was in the operating system installed on your hard drive.

You will find Web sites and include them in the Favorites again.

See you soon.

  • Unable to login to my account to retrieve lost favorites.

Hi, I recently had a hard drive crash so remove all my firefox bookmarks.

I used fireox synchronization previously via the iphone app and I was wondering if there is any way to recover them? I assumed having used firefox sync via iphone app, that I should have put an account, but when I try login / retrieve password / recover the id I get no email (probably there is no log of my account).

Clever ways to recover bookmarks or should I let go and move...

    Thanks in advance.

It depends on. If you sync connected to the desktop firefox on your old computer, and that you use the new version of firefox sync (which was published in April 2014) on this computer, then you should be able to reconnect. Otherwise, it is unfortunately not possible.

I suggest that you create a Windows Easy Transfer. File MIG favorite Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox Bookmarks backup in addition to other settings and personal since files you will be reinstalled.

The great thing about Windows Easy Transfer it also backup your folder AppData correctly that stores unique settings for your applications, even customized for applications like Word dictionaries:

    Hi Jane,

    Thanks for the question!

I understand that you are facing problems with games and also lost favorites.

    Quick questions:

1 did you changes to the computer before the show?

    2. what version of web browser do you use?

We will try these steps and check:

    Method 1:

You can try to uninstall and reinstall the game and check from or disable Windows features:

    1. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click programs and then click turn on turn Windows features on or off. Administrator permission. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    2. develop the Games folder and uncheck the solitary, restart your computer and select the check box.

    3. to activate a Windows feature, select the check box next to the feature. To turn a Windows feature off, clear the check box. Click OK.

Check this link for more information:

Turn on or off Windows features

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-features-on-or-off

You can update the display drivers on the manufacturer's Web site and check.
Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

    Method 2:

You can check the Favorites in the user folder and check if you can read the same thing.

Favorites would be located at the following location:

    \Favorites C:\Users\[user name]

  • Is that a catastrophic problem with BootCamp / virtual machines or something else?

Just had a catasrophic with BootCamp problem

My MBP was running a bit lazy, so Apple gave me a few instructions on how to fix this, including linking the installation discs for the disk utility and empty all of my folders cache under OSX.  Don't know if any of this slow and crashing was something to do with the installation of the latest update to OSX

All of a sudden when I came back to Windows in the usual manner, the installation of windows in the VM required activation. Needless to say I had to activate windows every time I spent Bootcamp in OSX and/or then the merger to get to Windows, I had to re-activate so finally that Microsoft is beginning to think that someone is to install Windows on multiple computers and telephone activation becomes a nightmare.

But even worse, when I managed to understand what product key that I used for bootcamp and started windows, EACH CONFIGURATION MADE OVER A YEAR or so AND EACH SOFTWARE INSTALLATION HAD DISAPPEARED, I HAD!  Without a windows installation process, I've been frame with a soft-install windows desktop with all my lost favorites. Leading to an even bigger nightmare in the re-installation of hundreds of evidence hours of software.  He had two meager records to show that I was in the right place and that everything is not contained in another folder and a file or two, but I wonder if all these installation information is contained in a cache in the directory structure Active Directory OSX? If so, is it possible to identify the files or the folders in which cache directory must be saved?

If this is the case, I never dreamed that something to do with the windows installation was contained in the OSX directory structure?  Surely if this is the case, there should be a strong warning on it?   Admittedlythe Windows Setup WAS a bit slow before the "incident", but I doubt that there is something deeply wrong, and in any event I ran just a fully updated Adaware and Spybot so this problem is probably not a virus. (I don't use email merge)

If this is the case, is - can anyone identify records needing backup before you empty the caches under OSX?  I don't think THAT many here would have been recovered by the take a snapshot could it? (anyway, I could not in windows without this activation)

FWIW, the only way I can see what is a matter of merger is if by chance you're under Fusion 2.0.0, which had a fatal flaw it would partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine to take a snap, and if you did not start in native mode again you probably will not notice immediately that all changes have been written in a disc rather than the disc file physics itself and then if we deleted the virtual Boot Camp Machine partition a situation such that you described could have similar results.

Another thing to look at is C:\Program Files in the Windows directory and see if it contains all the applications you have installed once and if she doesn't then it's quite possible that you run Windows from a default registry hive, which of course contains no information on changes since Windows has been installed but you have really not provide adequate details on what you were in fact under the leadership of Apple technology to get where you currently are, so there is not much that I can offer.

  • Updated to iOS 9.3.4 and lost all my favorites across all my devices, iPhone and iPad

The iOS to day of the week on my iPad Air last and he immediately lost all my favorites.  I have 2 other devices on my account an iPhone 5 and an older iPad.  These devices updated afterwards and had bookmarks until updates occurred.  Later devices only updated when I went to look at the bookmarks they appeared for a few seconds and they disappeared.  All devices have no bookmarks.  Cannot find information on this question - anyone have this problem?

    Hi DannoLaLa,

Thanks for checking out the communities Support from Apple! I understand that you are having problems with Safari bookmarks that were deleted on your devices. All the time, I use bookmarks for quick access to my frequently visited websites so I can understand wanting to make sure that you have access to your. I am pleased to provide you with advice for you.

I recommend you take a look at the info in the article below. Specifically, the following information:

If you go to a bookmark that you deleted in the last 30 days, you can recover it from iCloud.com. Just click settings and under Advanced Options, click on restore bookmarks.

Even if bookmarks have been deleted accidentally, you should be able to recover them with these steps.

  • I installed windows 7 from XP and reinstall Firefox. However, I have lost the list of favorites. Is there a way I can recover the previous the "Favorites".

Installed Windows 7 Professional custom in the required form XP. All the favorites were lost in Firefox and had to reinstall Firefox.
Explorers has maintained the Favorite list, I had to explore - quite different from Firefox.
Check the programs created separately by 7 to include the XP file. Favorites, registration is not relevant to the list lost on Firefox reinstall.
Question: Is it possible that I can get back the original Favorites listing lost when the 7 install, or is it 'gone with the wind "?

I have not read what is happening in an installation of XP to 7. You can find this file on your system:

    C:\Windows.old

If so, you can find one of these:

    • C:\Windows.old\Documents and Settings\your user name
    • C:\Windows.old\Users\your username

If so, your old given Firefox might be in there. To explore more, it would be useful to set windows to display the hidden files and folders. This article has the steps: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files

    Then search either:

    • \Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profilesyour usernameC:\Windows.old\Documents and Settings\
    • Your username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles C:\Windows.old\Users\

Here you can find one or several folders named random semi. Who has most recently updated content is probably the one you want to restore from.

    Bookmarks only

Go down the old bookmarkbackups folder and copy the last two backups in a location such as the desktop.

The restore feature will replace the bookmarks in Firefox by default (and what you added since the reset) with all like bookmarks. If you want preserve newly added bookmarks, use the first, export function before the restore, then the import function later. The following articles have details:

    Success?

    Complete restoration

This post has my suggested procedure to resurrect your old wide profile in your new installation of Firefox. Please note the use of the copy instead of move throughout the process. This allows you to try again if it fails somewhere along the way.

  • Added the new computer but lost all favorite settings on old. I need new account keep different settings on both?

My laptop (i5, running Win 7) is my workhorse computer that had all my favorite settings stored. I added a new office (AMD, Win 8.1) that will be used as a multimedia entertainment unit, but when I connected the cable to install FireFox it replaced all the settings in my laptop with the new computer. How can I keep the different settings on each computer? Must have 2 different accounts to be able to do this? I have now lost the web address for some of my sites, so it's quite painful. The "recently marked with a bookmark" folder is the main problem, because it is where I was monitoring my sites.
Computer LAPTOP is Acer Aspire i5 & Win 7 runs the modules listed below.
DESKTOP is a Medion with an AMD 3.8 GHz Turbo & Win 8.1, with the new version of the FF browser.
Auto Firefox installed the same modules as the laptop, but I will change those & don't want to FF to automatically install the same on both computers. How can I separate them?

You can only select favorite and maybe passwordsand uncheck other options of data type.

  • My computer crashed and it restarted I asked me to refresh Firefox. I have now lost all my favorites etc. There is no 'old Firefox data' folder - help!

My computer crashed (blue screen) and when it restarted a box came asking me to update Firefox. I clicked on OK (thought he was just trying to restore the session) and I have now lost all my favorites, passwords registered etc. There is no 'old Firefox data' folder anywhere on my system - help! is there a way I can get it all back without doing a system restore? I am running Windows 7.

Hi, you can try it for only bookmarks: first open the bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > restore and see if you have a backup there.

If not and the other favorites, please see.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

  • Lost all my favorites after my dept IT messed with my computer.

I came this morning and my computer was in place. My Department I.T. staff has spent an hour playing with my computer, and when I got back on my machine, it failed to Mozilla Firefox. They came back and restored to Mozilla, but they lost my favorites and replaced by very old favorites of IE. I don't use IE except when it is required for some programs, if bookmarks are extremely outdated.

How can I return my favorites? I tried all the difficulties that I can find online, but I can't find an archived date before today. Am I missing something somewhere?

I searched the Windows Explorer for all files with the word in them bookmarks. I found my last automated backup from Friday and was able to restore my old favorites. Main problem is trying to find with the instructions found on the Internet, my I.T. Department has disabled being able to find files in AppData. When I found the Friday backup, I copied to my desktop and was able to restore from my office.

I have found a workaround which my I.T. team has setup to keep staff to fix their own problems.

  • I don't really know what just happened, I think that I've updated and then lost all my favorites. I can't even manually, restore what do I do?

I am a bit tech-illiterate and I don't know what happened. I seem to have updated, but some how lost all my favorites. I tried to restore them but there is nothing for me to restore from. What should I do?

Do you mean that the current profile bookmarkbackups folder is empty?

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

You have an "Old data Firefox" folder on the desktop?

If this is the case then you can try to restore the bookmarks from a backup in the folder bookmarkbackups.
You can see the order of the day are counted as part of the name of the file.

    • < number > _ < hash > .json bookmark-YYYY-MM-JJ_

You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • Hi, I have a problem. I lost my favorites. I don't understand. How can I fixed this problem? Thank you.

    I lost my favorites.

Bookmarks may appear to be lost when there is a problem with the file that contains the bookmarks in this case it's the file places.sqlite.

You can check the database places.sqlite with this extension file.

If that didn't help then try to delete the spaces in the Firefox profile folder and who understand that it's possible temporary files to SQLite as places.sqlite - shm and places.sqlite - wal besieds the places.sqlite file.

Delete all places.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder to rebuild the database since the last backup JSON places.sqlite (bookmarks-#-#-# _xxxx_$ $.jsonlz4) in the folder bookmarkbackups of Firefox.

If this does not work so that you can restore bookmarks from a compressed backup of .jsonlz4 in the folder bookmarkbackups.
The xxxx in the ' bookmarks-#-#-# _xxxx_$ $.jsonlz4 ' name indicates the total number of bookmarks (records and included separators) stored in the file.
