  Shut down and restart your computer.

  The base provided with your computer (Windows 7 Home Premium) license will already be a license of qualification. An Express (Windows 7 Home Premium to professional) upgrade may not be an eligible license because its an upgrade.   Contact the manufacturer of the laptop and getting them to send you the xp recovery disk to reinstall xp if you do not have a xp cd
