lost start button in Windows 8 upgrade

I graduated Windows 7 to windows 8 and the Start button on my taskbar to the desktop disappeared, how do I restore this?

The start menu as you know, no longer exist in Windows 8. It has been replaced by the start screen, which is the first thing you see when you connect to your PC in Windows 8.

To access your applications, just scroll to the right.

To launch your applications, go to the start, screen by pointing your mouse pointer on the left corner of the screen of Windows 8 and click on it.

Do scroll to the right and start your application.

You can also lock your favorite applications to the start screen or from the taskbar.

To display all the applications installed on your computer, click with the right mouse button on an empty spot on the start screen, and then click applications.

It also suggested me the upgrade of Windows 8 when it comes out @ 15.00.
If I lose all the benefits of the first upgrade to install Windows 8, I want to go back to the first upgrade unopened.
They allow only a few days to do this.
    Thanks for your help

The base provided with your computer (Windows 7 Home Premium) license will already be a license of qualification. An Express (Windows 7 Home Premium to professional) upgrade may not be an eligible license because its an upgrade. To use the Windows Pro 8 upgrade, the base provided with the computer license will be it.

  • Start button

When I click on the Start button of windows at the bottom left of the screen, nothing happens, in other words, I've lost my Start button

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.  Do it from the disk if necessary.

You can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I remove Windows Vista in reduced with no start button functionality?

My older nephew of ten year and his friend decided to install his copy of friends of Windows Vista on my laptop, I don't know.  They used a Windows Anytime Upgrade disc.  He is now in reduced without a start button functionality mode.  He also says that he is not a genuine copy.  I tried to access internet explorer, but it continues to tell me that the pages do not respond and to wait or kill pages.  At this point, I would really just uninstall that copy of Vista.  I had Windows XP on the laptop, is it possible that I can return to the use of this?

    Yes, there is a way.

System Restore will not do anything

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop and getting them to send you the xp recovery disk to reinstall xp if you do not have a xp cd

If you have not a cd of xp do a clean reinstall of xp

  • lost the "switch between windows" button on the Quick Launch toolbar

Hi, I lost the "switch between windows" button of the toolbar quick launch, how can I restore it?

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

    Dasepo salvation,

Here are the instructions for the program shortcut "switch between windows" returned the fell on the Quick Launch toolbar:

First of all, make sure you that you must show hidden files and folders active. Here's how:

Go to: Start/Control Panel folder Options/configuration and select the 'view' tab select "Show hidden folders and files under the section files and folders hidden from advanced settings".

Then you can get the file from quicklaunch default section. This location of file is here:

    C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

You can paste this link into the search bar (Ctrl-Esc). When you get to this place, you will find the 'switch between client.lnk' which you can then drag directly to the Windows Orb and it going bust in the Quick Launch bar.

    Hope this helps,

  • Windows Start button 8

I have windows 8 and I hate where is the beginning. I wish that my old switch back. How can I go about it?

    Original title: Start button

    Hi Sheryl,

I wish to inform you that Windows 8 is designed with a splash instead of a boot menu screen. If you want the Start button, you can upgrade to 8.1 Windows and you will see the Start button. The button Windows start 8.1 will take you to the start screen, as you can see in Windows 8.

To learn more on the start screen, click on the link below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/start-screen-tutorial

There are some third party software that can offer the option of a start menu in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. However, we do not support or promote any of these third-party software.

In addition, if you like the old way menu start working, you can wait for Windows 10 to launch. You will find a menu starting with a lot of new features. To learn more about the next Windows 10, you can click on the link below and see all the videos:
