  • Satellite C660-108 - slow response keyboard

The keyboard on my Satellite C660-108 is very slow in response. Some characters are not at all, some only after a short delay. It's very embarrassing when I type text and passwords (!) because I have to double check any type (and 1 / 3 words has spelling mistakes, because of the problem with keyboard)

Is there a way I can troubleshoot what's the problem?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

As you can read in many other threads, you must update the BIOS to get rid of this problem.

Toshiba has already published an article on what you need to do:

  • Can I use my Satellite C660 - 2 7 backlit keyboard?

    Hi all

I was wondering if there is such a thing as a backlit keyboard which can be adapted to the Satellite C660 - 2 7, the old one is very easy to remove.

As far as I know you can't do that. Connector for these keyboards is quite different.

  • Satellite C660 - several keyboard LAG

    Hello

I was the owner of a Toshiba Satellite C660 for about five days, and I already feel lag serious keyboard. As users of the model L270 and other posters on this forum, the keyboard has slowed down considerably and letters are being omitted, slow down the process of typing.

I tried to update my BIOS, many posters have suggested, but my BIOS is bang up to date.

I have not tried to remove the battery or something like that. Frankly if I do get my keyboard is working properly the computer goes to the rear and I'm demanding a refund.

    Any ideas?

    Hey,.

I've never seen users L270 here... As much as I know there is not a model for laptop

In any case, that s really strange and I have never heard of this problem on the Satellite C660. I think all you can do is updated the BIOS and using the pre-installed Windows version. If you still notice the same behavior, ask the seller for a replacement model.

I agree with the new: this t shouldn't happen on a portable five-day old.

  • Satellite C660 - keyboard problem

I have a problem with the keyboard on my Satellite c660 laptop, reference number: PSC1LE.
The best way I can describe it is like a stuttering problem because it comes and go (very well for a few hours, then not for a short period).

The problem is that, for reasons unknown to me, I continue to experience a problem where the A, N and Enter keys do not work when you press. Sometimes pressing the key several times (they they are not frozen) is simply the letter out, but I can not continue to press the time key to five or six to get a letter. Just to mention, I've not spilled anything on the keyboard.

I did full virus and spyware scans but have found no problem.
I have done tonight all the updates of windows available to me, but it does not appear to have done the trick.

After the restart that follows the device updates all worked them for about 15 minutes, so that the same three keys stopped working again. On this occasion, it lasted only a few minutes, and now I'm writing this with the same keyboard.

Note: I do not use the original keyboard. I changed the jury due to minor property damage, but he did private.
However, this was done most of the year there and worked flawlessly since installation, until this new edition took place in recent weeks.

If anyone has new recommendations or suggestions as to what can be the cause or solutions and then share it please.

I think you'd understand that nobody is able to say why your keyboard malfunctioned.
Only if the hardware of the laptop has been scanned/verified, it would be possible to say what's wrong here
But as General, there is a good workaround solution to diagnose the problem.

You could connect the external USB keyboard to the laptop and could check if the same problems with the mentioned buttons will occur.

In case the external USB keyboard would work correctly, I think that your internal keyboard is the troublemaker in such a case, you will need to replace the keyboard once more.

  • Satellite C660-28 d - keyboard and touch pad problems

    Hey guys,.

In the past months, my laptop had become almost unusable.

It began with the key odd work stoppage or becomes difficult to use, but now it happened to many of them and last night my touch pad stopped working all together.

I'm not really a tech head and fight with it.

    I have a Toshiba satellite C660 28 T.

Any help would be thank you very much.
    Maybe even a factory reset?

I don't know how to proceed.

    Concerning

    Hello

With regard to the problem of keyboard:

From my point of view of the few sounds of keyboard described as a material problem internal related dysfunction... probably in order to solve this problem, the keyboard should be replaced... just to make sure that your internal keyboard is affected, please join the external USB keyboard and check if it works properly.
If you see any problems, the problem is no doubt by a malfunctioning internal keyboard and as mentioned earlier, you will need to replace the keyboard.

    Regarding the touchpad:

I'm not sure if the two issues are interrelated, but the touchpad can be disabled by using the function keys... I recommend you to check this... (function key details are also in the user manual)... you can also try reinstalling the touchpad drive.

Tip: this forum contains many discussions about similar problems... so I recommend you to read the recommendations posted in this community.

  • Satellite C660 - new internal keyboard does not work

    Hello

I'm completely stuck I have a portable satellite c660 keyboard did not work.
So I bought a replacement keyboard and installed and checked in the Device Manager and it says it is there and works correctly, but the replacement keyboard still does not work.

I updated the bios and uninstalled the keyboard drivers and reinstalled them that I've done everything I can think off to try and get this new keyboard working but I am having no luck and could so with some assistance.

Have you ever checked if the USN external keyboard works properly?

I ask because in the case where the external keyboard does not work properly, the internal keyboard problem could be related to faulty keyboard controller (motherboard) or a problem of system m.

In case the external keyboard would work properly, you had any luck with the new keyboard. It might be possible that the new keyboard is malfunctioning.

  • Keyboard backlit on Satellite C660

    Greetings.

I recently bought a Satellite C660, but now I would like to know if it is possible to replace the standard keyboard by an illuminated. A backlit keyboard won't work because she needs some kind of a power supply for LED? Toshiba sells such component individually?

    Egert

    These updates is not possible.
Backlit keyboard needs supply and must be connected to the small port on the motherboard. If your card mother doesn t have there is therefore no chance to use the backlit keyboard.

    I'm sorry.

  • On Satellite C660-1J2 keyboard problems

I have 2 laptops from Toshiba, type Satellite C660-1J2 used by 2 different people and we both have the same problem.
The problem is with typing, many times it jumps a letter and sometimes a letter not to show, and then when you hit it again you get 2 letters and sometimes just get 2 letters to hit once.

We tested it and it's a real big problem for us, because we use it for school...

    Help us please!

  • Need new keyboard for Satellite C660 - 1 DG

    Nice day!

My concern is on my Toshiba laptop, I bought it in Europe 2 months ago when I reached my son Philippines keep on playing all of a sudden, it was shut down and it did not open more.

I immediately go to the center of Toshiba in oro city Cagayan and I discovered it was the keyboard problem, but they could not replace it because there is no available for this laptop keyboards. How can I solve this problem?

Model name: TOSHIBA SATELLITE C660 - 1 DG.

    Thank you

Initially, I would say that the biggest problem for you is that warranty may not cover the replacement of keyboard, and you pay only keyboard changes. Notebooks of the countries in the EMEA (Europe Middle East North Africa) region have guaranteed EMEA warranty is, unfortunately, only, so not valid.

To be honest I don t understand why the keyboard must be exchanged if the laptop does not start correctly.

Anyway, this model of laptop has keyboard used on many models in order to find a new should not be a problem. Best way to new keypad is eBay. Over the past 3 years I ordered several keyboards on eBay. You don't know me, but each of them I ordered from China.
