'lost, stolen or misplaced' - this list practice paragraph styles

No doubt there was a time when my space working of FM 2012 included a clever option for a list of 'styles defined in the document"that make it easy eliminate unwanted definitions. Some time since, this option disappeared mysteriously; and I can't get the same functionality in the menus: How do I get it back? Tricks and tips welcome!

In any of the catalog lists, there is a button "Options"... "that allows you to set the catalog to view all/used/unused/custom-list of tags. Is that what you're looking for?

  • Problem with creating numbered lists the paragraph style...

I have a numbered list, using "bullets and numbers" paragraph style But I don't know how to get the numbering to work properly.

If I set the "mode" to "continue from previous" mode, whenever I use this paragraph style continuous numbering since the last issue of the previous list using this style.

If I put the 'mode' for ' start in ' a number, say '1', then all numbers in the list are this number.

I want that each list is independent of the final list. The only thing I can understand is to create a new paragraph for each list style, but which does not seem a good way to go.

I have been exploring for some time but have not been able to understand this.

Place the cursor inside your paragraph of the list where you want than to restart numbering.

    Choose from the menu:

Type > bulleted & numbered lists > restart page numbering.

  • Is this possible in paragraph styles?

I am trying to copy body as attachment format, text in bold, then Roman text and bold text again.

    Formatting.jpg

I am unable to create more than one type of style to get the Roman text in the middle.

Someone have an idea how I can accomplish this?

    Thank you, John

Seems to me that you have need of a character style. Make the paragraph by using the "BOLD" font style, then for the nested styles: None by 1 tablet, then a character style to change the weight in 1 Word.

  • Cannot find the paragraph styles

When I create a table, the text style sometimes as "Table Style 2" in paragraph styles section but but when I click on the triangle to the list of different styles, he is nowhere to be seen. "" I'm new on this so sorry if it's something obvious but is there more models on the list of those that appear immediately and if yes how do for them?

Using Pages on El Capitan 10.11.1 v5.6.1. When I insert a new table, the Table Style 2 paragraph Style is visible in the text: Style tab. Click on the triangle produces a rollout with the list of paragraph Styles. I can't reproduce the problem you describe.

You can get the behavior very buggy if you aren't careful with moving paragraph styles!

Either way, the right way to move from a paragraph style is like this (you will need to edit the code below as well as p becomes a reference to a real paragraph style):

    d = app.activeDocument;

    p = / * some paragraph style in a group of para-style * /.

The following line move p in paragraph style out of his group and in the list of paragraph styles in the document d

    p.Move (LocationOptions.UNKNOWN, d);

  • How to avoid overwriting the italics when you apply paragraph styles?

First of all, let me say thank you to the community of Adobe's Forum for the great help over the years! You Rock! 9 times out of 10 you nail!

OK, so I have a long document full of italics, bold and accents. Successfully, I imported the text in MS Word and kept these text features using the import options. But now, when I go to apply paragraph styles, the italics are lost. Is it possible to implement paragraph styles so that they maintain Roman, italic, bold and also special characters like accents? Thank you!

Hi David: I just put upward (and record) queries for search/replace that I of course after you import all text. For example, I have one that is italic in the document and it goes to a character called italic style. Once I saved queries, it is very fast to run on all the stories at the same time. And once the local formatting is managed through character styles, it is intact by assigning paragraph styles.

  • Paragraph style with different key on the 1st and 2nd lines

    Hello

I want to do a paragraph for a caption style. The font size is 5. the first line must have 5 pt leader and the second line must have 6 main points. Is it possible to select this as a paragraph style or I have to put the different leading to each line manually each time?

    Adrian

Could be done, I suppose, using a style of character as a nested line Style, but why do you need to do this? The leading of the first line value does not actually affect the first base line in a block of text. Would probably be a better way to fix the first line of base to 5.

  • Style list Bullet paragraph line spacing

How can I remove the extra space created in a bulleted list?

In general it is enabled by default, but for my purpose leading is too.  I looked around her change the paragraph Style dialog box, but I can't remove the extra space.

This should be a no-brainer and I swear I did this before - can someone point out it for me?

    Thank you.

Double-spaced, (in a list; paragraph spacing), is a product of character "major" and the paragraph spacing before settings level (sum), and after the space.

    BUT that said...

You should treat a certain pre-made or already existing style (s). InDesign does not impose automatic all values of these parameters chosen just because you created a list. I suspect your list a space before and/or after the space, but someone put it there.

  • Using paragraph styles with numbered lists having paragraphs "child."

    Hi all

I wanted just a checking the direction of your InDesign experts.

When I create a numbered list when there are paragraphs separate 'child' who "belong" to the paragraph numbered list real (see below) how do I use paragraph styles for formatting the list?

Currently I apply a style numbered list to each of the bold numbered paragraphs and just a style of body text indented paragraphs of the child. Is this fair?

3.1 it is a topic but also a part of a numbered list

This is the text that goes with the above heading

This is another paragraph which goes hand in hand with the above heading

3.2 it comes is a topic, but also part of a numbered list

This is the text that goes with the above heading

This is another paragraph which goes hand in hand with the above heading

3.2 it is a topic but as part of a list numbered

This is the text that goes with the above heading

This is another paragraph which goes hand in hand with the above heading

Also, is there a power automatically apply a style to the last bullet in a list (as with the last CSS child selector) so that I can have a small space after each of my balls except the last one where I would want a larger space.

Is this fair? Yes. And if you want the style of paragraph number somehow, each model numbered to give his name to the list.

The styles will be applied by you. To get the last point in space after, add this attribute to its own paragraph style, perhaps also giving it a keep with previous keep option.

Or give more simple, perhaps the paragraph numbered line style certain amount of space before as one of its attributes under withdrawal and spacing.

  • Right-aligned numbers in lists numbered in the paragraph styles

Is it possible (in InDesign 5.5) to create a numbered list in a paragraph style that makes the numbers right aligned, in order to align a two-digit number to the right, the space between the number and the text being equal whether a number of one or two digits? I can do it manually with two tabs, but the bullets & dialogue of numbering in paragraph Options of Style only allows for the position of a tab. It would be useful to be able to automate this type of numbering.
