  Messages are likely to the old identity and you can go to file | Import | Messages to bring them into the new identity.  See also point 4 here: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

  The account information will have to be put in place in the new identity.  You can switch between the old and new identities also.  If save you messages and settings (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#6), you must do it for the two identities, unless the new identity has all the information you need in it.

• TB stopped to retrieve new messages and try to "reconfigure" my account to correct the problem, now, I lost my old messages.

  [15/04/14 edit #3] I posted the troubleshooting information and make a backup of profiles with MozBackup, so my problem is the presence of two inboxes, both to receive messages, and my not be sure we can safely be removed nor how to remove safely.
  [14/04/14 edit #2] Help of you bird taught me where my 'profiles' are stored but I found that I had no backup of their. However, I find now that I have TWO inboxes - had not noticed this before oddity. Fortunately, one of them contains again all my old posts! The Inbox that has still all my old messages is listed as a subfolder under "Local Folders" and the Inbox I thought was that my only Inbox is listed as a subfolder under the folder albums whose name is my email address. Two inboxes are now recover my new mail. Does this mean that I have somehow created two accounts? If so, how can I get rid of the account that uses the Inbox that has all my old messages inside? I don't want to get rid of the wrong account, but I suspect that the "right" should be listed under my email address, not covered by 'Local Folders'. If anyone understands this mess I created, I'd appreciate some tips so that I don't make things worse. At least, I have now learned what it is I need to back up.

  [14/04/14 Edition #1] This is a major update of the problem I described earlier (see below). I disabled the part Mail shield of my antivirus software Avast free and discovered that TB was again able to recover my email. Then I re-enabled Avast to see if it blocked again TB. He did not. So, apparently simply light shield mail out of Avast and back again seems to have solved the problem. However, there's now the consequences of my having tried to "reset" TB which is described below, namely the loss of a very large number of emails that have been stored in my Inbox. So the problem is I would like to get help is how to recover these apparently lost emails. If they stay on my hard drive, should TB to store and what specific files I look for? I do not have a backup of some of my drive hard (but), but I need to know how to identify them, where to look and how to get back to my Inbox without deleting its current content. I would really like to also retain their original, if possible dates. I'm under 64-bit Windows 8.1. [end edit on 14-04-14]

  TB suddenly stopped downloading my mail today. When I click Get Mail, I can see the screen very fast succession of messages; first the message "connected...". «, then «check...» ", then"download 1 of 10... ". ", and finally,"No message to download"after downloading absolutely none of them. I also noticed that my list of mailboxes not the entry of first showed my e-mail address as account name. Find that something important must have been changed in the setup of my account, I went through all the settings but didn't see any problem. Finally, I decided to try to restore my account even. Who did place my email address again back at the top of the list of mailboxes mailbox as my work account name, but he also created an even more serious problem. There is now no messages in my Inbox, I guess because I have created a new account using the same name as the old, whereas before there were thousands of messages I had saved for many years (since it is a business). Then when I click Get Mail, TB downloaded 383 messages that have not yet been removed from the server, which then gives all today (another loss since their initial dates were important). But after that he finished all the download, by clicking Get Mail still retrieves all messages past the time he stopped to recover earlier today. These new messages remain on the server - but now there are 14 of them instead of 10. The same succession of messages TB appears at the bottom of the screen, but now it says "Download 1 of 14..." but always downloads none and ends by, "no message to download.   I managed to recreate the same question.

  It's what, in my view, has occurred.

  The account that puts e-mails in local folders is set up as a global Inbox account.

  The account which has its own mail, mailbox is a classic e-mail account.

  When you created the global account to the Inbox, you have not restarted Thunderbird before you download, so the same e-mail is downloaded in the two accounts.

  E-mails currently in the global Inbox - Local folders Inbox is not deleted if you delete the account. but do not immediately.

  Please look under "Tools" > "account settings".
  You see two accounts with the same name using the same email address? I noticed you have account 2 and account 5 using different servers, but maybe the same e-mail address?

  Select the 'server' settings account 2 and click the button "Advanced".
  A small window opens, which is selected?

  • "Inbox for this account of servers.

  or

  • "Inbox for the account of different" and "records the.

  Please also check account 5.

  One of these accounts will say "Inbox for the account of different" and "records the. This is the account that has emails in the Inbox folders and is configured as a Global account.

  Tell me which account is configured as global Inbox.

  In addition, I note that account 2 has more than one identity. You have two different email addresses that go to the same account?

  • In 'Tools' > 'Account settings' for account 2
  • Click on the button "manage identities".

  If you have two email addresses, and you want both emails go into this email account, then leave it alone. Click "close".

  If the two identities are the same (identical) email address, then there is no two, so you can delete the other. Select the second identity email address and click 'remove '. Then, click Close. If not sure leave it alone, but tell me what you have.

  Click OK

  Tell me what you have and if you have two email addresses the same as the identity of this email account and also if you have deleted the second email address.

  I'm sure this has been asked several times already, but is it possible to retrieve emails lost or deleted in my blackberry account? I tried support RIM & they said that they have no way to achieve that emails do not remain on the server at all there.  Lost emails from the Oct of 2011 that I kept on my device.  They were on my device it a few days ago & now simply disappeared!   I have them have not deleted either myself at all?

  Unfortunately, I didn't save my camera more than 3 months ago & that I had not saved the messages I was n ot with before e-mail problems.  My e-mail management settings are defined to take "Forever" as well?  I am extremely puzzled to this situation that I could have prevented.

  I'm with Bell Mobility in Canada (province of Ontario) & I was wondering if there is another solution than anyone of you techies out there could now?  Y at - it software or the company that any of you might be able to recommend to help me?

  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you have not saved your data, your emails are gone forever.  RIM, or Bell Mobility keeps emails on their servers.

• CRNT FF: 1 of 5 emails lost all my messages on viewing but shows the amount of mails are there. Search can find them all, just will not appear in the Inbox

  1 of 5 email ACCOUNTS receive mail OK, but as soon as you leave this account and that you come back, nothing appears in the Inbox. The status bar shows however, that there are 32 emails it even if the Inbox is devoid of any text.

    Using Search, I can find ALL 32 emails by searching for a word in the subject field or the body fields. The mails ARE there!  They just do not display in the Inbox.
  

  Then... How the hell can I get the Inbox to display its content again?

  It worked until the day before yesterday when I read an e-mail from a reliable source and it automatically disappeared, along with all others in the Inbox. All other accounts are working very well.

     I tried creating a new email account but it wouldn't let me, giving me an error that the "incoming already exists".  No number or anything; it come when I click DONE in the creation process.  The new account will not write to the disk.
  

  I ran NOrton, AVG, MalWare Bytes, Windows Defender, Spybot AV and the other that I forgot the name of that time. ALL showed nothing found after each live scan success. I'm reasonable sure, I have no malicious software.

  Emails from this account are quite important, and I don't want to lose them if possible; they are for a Committee planning the 50th high-school reunion.

  Windows 7 HP, Dell XPS L702, 6 Gig of RAM, Intel i7 processor and lots of disk space. I've also compacted without change. The messages are all still there, but nothing shows in my Inbox; It is empty. I only see them using Find Messages from words I know are in them.

    Happy to provide any other info needed to evaluate this.  Oh, the account Sends OK too; it's a POP3 account setup.

  In main menu, make sure that you have seen (Alt - V) - topics - all.

• IPhone 5 upgraded to ios9.3.1 now lost all text messages, don't get any notification, stuck "send".

  I've recently upgraded to IOS9.3.1 (previously on the much earlier version but can not remember which) with the help of iphone 5.

  Several questions now all related messages

  (1) all messages have disappeared and brand-new only stay a few hours and then disappear voluntarily (set of parameters for keep forever)

  (2) no alert of working the front desk of all new messages (change the sounds, verified notifications are on)

  (3) when to send messages (imessage and text) state bar 1 mailing of... forever - never goes away until the message has disappeared from the list of messages.

  Before upgrading to IOS 9 I saved on the PC and I think than icloud

  I tried the following things most of them several times.

  turn off...

  verified notifications are on in the settings, messages, notifications,

  turned I message on

  Reset all settings (more then once)

  restored from backup of the computer just before the upgrade - don't know how to restore from an earlier backup if this is possible or to find out if I have a backup in icloud.

  Please help, I'm at my wits end resources, used to use e-mail all the time and now completely useless.  Please not jargon and clear instructions for any problems I'm not an Apple expert.

  I have exactly the same problems since I've updated the software on my iphone 5 c. 9 days since your post, you have a bit of luck to solve the problem?

  I tried something similar to yourself:

  (1) rebooted the phone (several times)

  (2) to reset all the settings of the phone a couple of times

  (3) enabled i-message and SMS messages and turn off many times.

  Everything else looks good, what about my contacts, applications, history calls, e-mail, etc. Just the text messaging application. I see my stock of the iphone that I have
  have 140 MB of messages somewhere, but do not appear to be visible.

  I was told by Apple via DM on Twitter Support to do a full backup and restore of my phone, to completely erase all the data and settings, effectively
  become a 'new' phone again with the factory settings. I hope to try to avoid this if possible option. Am due to an update of the phone, so think I might
  just get a new phone if I end up having to do a full restore in any way.

• Lost the double tap feature.  How can I reset?

  After a loss of power when I restarted I lost a magic button function.  I used to be able to type slightly twice (not enough to click on the button) to simulate a single click (a full press). I can't find how to reset this option in preferences. How to restore tap double light (not click forced cushion)?

  It is controlled via the mouse or Trackpad preferences. However, a loss of power can damage the HARD drive, so I would like to do the following:

  1. Use disk utility to repair permissions and the HARD drive.
  2. Reinstall OS X.

  Fix the hard disk and permissions

  Boot from your Snow Leopard installation disc. After the installer loads, choose your language and click on the button continue. When the menu bar appears select utility drive in the Utilities menu. After that the charges of THE select your entry from hard drive (mfgr. ID and car size) in the list on the left.  In the status area, you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is faulty or has failed. (State SMART is not reported on external drives Firewire or USB). If the drive is "verified", then select your OS X volume in the list on the left (subentries under the entry for the road), click the first aid tab, then click the repair disk button. If THE reports any errors that have been corrected, and then run repair disk again until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, click repair permissions . Wait until the operation is complete, then exit FROM and return to the installer.

  If THE reports errors, it cannot be resolved, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you do not have one of them or none of them can fix the disc, then you will need to reformat the hard drive and reinstall the OS X.

  2 reinstall Snow Leopard

  If the disc is OK then leave FROM and return to the installer.  Proceed to reinstall OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a new copy of Mac OS X, the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, elements of support and network preferences in the newly installed system.

  Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 v1.1 updated Combo.

• Outlook Express - lost personal folders/Messages

  Deesktop my wife is under XP (updated latest & greatest) and Outlook Express 6.0.2900.5512. I'm not sure what she did, or how she does but she managed to lose all her personal records & associated messages. They are not in a local folder 'system', including the deleted items folder (a lot of messages here, but no records incorporated). At Pooffffff.

  Someone at - it suggestions on how I should go about 'research' for them, by what name (s), etc. ??? Reboot was not a solution - majic didn't happen!

  Make sure that it wasn't another identity implemented by accident or due to an accident. Locate the storage folder and also see if there is another folder in storage along the way.
   
   
  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
   
   
  In Windows XP, the files of user OE (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.
   
  You can also search FRO *.dbx with active hidden files.

  I have been using Live Mail (with Windows 7) for about 4 months. Everything works fine. Today I uploaded a few photos and was about to send to a friend when I noticed that all my e-mail messages (identities and all records) had disappeared. Fortunately, my contacts are OK. When I charge my phone, I received the text and I could see it on the screen timeout and I opened it. But after that the message is not located in my hub anywhere! non-text messages or anywhere else. This post WAS on my phone and I never deleted and now I can not find.

• BBM how to stop messages Featured Apps?

  How can I stop receiving messages from application recommended on my phone? Every day I get a multipe featurd app messages in the section "Messages" on my phone and it's driving crazy me! I can't find a way to not to receive these messages and sound to the point that I had to cut my cell phone because I get messages in the middle of the night. This is getting very annoying, that I just want to be able to look at my phone without going through a dozen of BBWorld messages!
